Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

The next day.

A special guest arrived at one of the Pagyi Family’s villas.

A black car stopped at the entrance, and all the attendants waiting to receive him wore expressions of utmost reverence, not daring to show the slightest negligence.

As a servant opened the car door, an elderly monk with graying hair stepped out.

The guards at the door, upon seeing him, even proactively knelt down, pressing their heads deeply to the ground.

Pagyi Gesang had already been waiting in front of the door. Upon seeing the arrival, he immediately plastered on a smile and walked over.

”Khenpo Wangpo, thank you for coming despite your busy schedule!”

Pagyi Gesang was exceptionally attentive to this old monk before him.

Because his identity was extraordinary; he was none other than the previous Khenpo of Sangha Monastery, Wangpo Sangji.

Back then, Yasha Langtai Deji, relying on his identity as the patriarch of the Lord of the Charnel Ground and the military might of the Yasha Langtai family, used both coercion and persuasion to force this Khenpo to abdicate.

However, in the Snowy Plateau Region, Wangpo Sangji still held an extremely high status.

Because he had served as the Khenpo of Sangha Monastery for over thirty years; one could say he was a household name.

Moreover, he also had connections with the Pagyi Family, as the Khenpo of his predecessor’s generation was Pagyi Gesang’s grandfather, who was also his teacher.

Pagyi Gesang invited Wangpo Sangji into the inner tea room and had servants bring in the finest tea and pastries.

Wangpo Sangji sat opposite him, looking at the attentive Pagyi Gesang, and spoke bluntly, ”Gesang, if you have something to say, just tell me directly. At a time like this, I cannot stay here long.”

If not for the sake of his teacher’s face, Wangpo Sangji would not have been willing to see Pagyi Gesang at all.

After all, everyone knew his relationship with Deji was not good, and it might very well implicate Wangpo Sangji himself in the future.

Pagyi Gesang smiled and said, ”Khenpo Wangpo, the reason I’ve invited you here this time is to hope you can help me with a matter.”

Wangpo Sangji raised his eyes to glance at him.

”If it has anything to do with Sangha Monastery or the Yasha Langtai family, you’d better not say it.”

His tone was exceptionally cold, clearly unwilling to stir up trouble.

Pagyi Gesang narrowed his eyes, his face still wearing an ingratiating smile.

”Khenpo Wangpo, back then, you were forced out by Deji, losing your position as Khenpo. Are you really willing to accept that?”

Wangpo Sangji’s hand movements paused, a flash of anger appearing in his eyes.

”Gesang, why bring this up!”

He was an old man in his seventies, who originally could have served until his natural death before passing on the position.

But at an age when he was about to enter the earth, he was forced to abdicate against his will; this was his most painful memory, one he least wished to mention.

Pagyi Gesang continued, ”Actually, what ability does Deji have? He is completely ignorant of Buddhist teachings, just a thief of the Dharma. He relies solely on his family producing the Lord of the Charnel Ground to seize power by force. For him to serve as the Khenpo of Sangha Monastery is simply a disgrace to the face of our esoteric sect spanning thousands of years!”

Pagyi Gesang’s words pleased Wangpo Sangji quite a bit.

He spoke indifferently, ”The matter is already settled. With the support of the Lord of the Charnel Ground, who can do anything about it?”

Although his tone was flat, it still revealed a trace of unwillingness.

However, Pagyi Gesang said to him, ”The only reason he was able to become Khenpo is entirely because he is the patriarch of the Lord of the Charnel Ground. Without the support of the Lord of the Charnel Ground, he would be nothing to fear.”

Wangpo Sangji glanced at him and spoke coldly, ”Get to the point.”

Pagyi Gesang chuckled, ”Khenpo Wangpo, back then, the Lord of the Charnel Ground often discussed Buddhist teachings with you; the relationship between the two of you was akin to that of teacher and student.”

”Have you ever considered, if Deji can control the Lord of the Charnel Ground, why can’t you?”

”Me? Hah, I don’t have powerful private soldiers in my hands.”

Wangpo Sangji sneered.

Pagyi Gesang said, ”But as long as you gain the support of the Lord of the Charnel Ground, it can match a thousand armies!”

”Based on what?”

Wangpo Sangji retorted.

Pagyi Gesang straightened his back and forcefully clapped his hands.

Immediately, a woman walked out from behind the screen inside the room.

She was enchanting and captivating, with a bewitching figure; a single glance from her could make countless men lose their souls.

”I hope you can help me show some filial respect to the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

Pagyi Gesang pressed his thigh, ”I recall in Buddhist cultivation, there is a practice called the ’Contemplation of Beauty’.”

”It involves observing the decay process of a female corpse to comprehend the true essence of ’beauty is but a skeleton’.”

”The Lord of the Charnel Ground is one who has attained great enlightenment. As his half-teacher, helping him with his cultivation is quite reasonable, isn’t it?”

Contemplation of Beauty, the Pass of Beauty.

Pagyi Gesang’s words carried a double meaning, profound and significant.

Wangpo Sangji raised his eyes to look at the woman. He hadn’t seen such a beautiful woman in many years.

Not just her appearance, but the charm between her brows and eyes; a single glance could make one infatuated with her.

A woman like this simply couldn’t be found in today’s Snowy Plateau Region. This was the most top-tier ’thin horse’ born in the most nourishing lands of the Jiangnan water country.

She didn’t know anything else, only understood one thing: how to capture a man’s heart.

Wangpo Sangji lowered his gaze. He couldn’t help but recall a past incident.

Back when the Lord of the Charnel Ground, Jue Guo, first entered closed-door cultivation, he was sealed in a narrow, small room with only a small hole left to deliver food and scriptures to him.

In that secret room less than ten square meters, he arduously cultivated for three years.

Three years later, Wangpo Sangji led people to smash the wall with a large hammer and invited him out.

Everyone believed the Lord of the Charnel Ground’s cultivation had succeeded, so they held a celebration ceremony.

However, during the ceremony, the Lord of the Charnel Ground stared blankly at a young mother breastfeeding her child.

From that moment on, Wangpo Sangji knew that the Lord of the Charnel Ground’s worldly roots had not been severed after all.

He left his mother at eight years old, spent over a decade as an ascetic monk. On the surface, he was in his twenties, but in reality, his heart was as simple as a child’s.

The longing for his mother in his heart, along with natural physiological desires, would not disappear with daily scripture recitation; they were merely suppressed.

But once they were released, what would be the result?

Wangpo Sangji let out a long sigh, feeling extremely conflicted inside.

To personally destroy the cultivation of a Lord of the Charnel Ground, his heart could not bear it; he even felt such an act was deeply sinful.

But...

If he didn’t do it, he would never be able to wash away the humiliation Deji had brought upon him in this lifetime.

After pondering for a long time, Wangpo Sangji nodded towards that woman.

”Since this female Bodhisattva has such a spirit of dedication, of course I must help fulfill this beautiful affair.”

Pagyi Gesang was overjoyed and immediately knelt down and kowtowed to Wangpo Sangji.

”Thank you, Khenpo Wangpo!”

Wangpo Sangji said, ”This is only to help the Lord of the Charnel Ground with his cultivation, not for my personal desires. Amitabha!”

That night, when Deji once again summoned the several great chieftains for the Prayer Festival celebration, Wangpo Sangji’s small car entered Sangha Monastery through a side gate.

No one noticed that among the group of lamas wrapped in thick Dharma robes accompanying him, there was a beautiful young woman.
