Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zong Yue’s proposal left the other three present deep in thought.

The value of the elemental ore vein was also immense.

For example, for Zhang Yi, if he could obtain that, he could have Lu Keran build more powerful mechanical equipment and upgrade weapons.

By then, he couldn’t even imagine what their Shelter would become.

And the origin of an Epsilon-level Mutated Creature was even more precious.

At their current level, unless they hunted superhumans of the same level, it was almost impossible to improve further.

With both things on the table, it was indeed a difficult choice.

It wasn’t just him; Han Shanzuo and Li Changgong were also conflicted.

As the Supreme Commander of the Northwest Region, obtaining either the elemental ore vein or the creature’s origin would be excellent for Li Changgong.

The former could develop the Great Northwest, earn him higher support, and solidify his rule.

But the latter could make him personally stronger. With sufficient power, no one could shake his position.

However, doing so would inevitably cause discontent among his subordinates, as it would mean prioritizing personal gain over the interests of the entire region.

Viewed this way, Zong Yue’s casual willingness to give up the creature’s origin was truly admirable.

Fortunately, this meant at least one less competitor for the others, giving them more choice.

Zhang Yi tapped the table. ”Both are extremely valuable. Getting either one is excellent. Let’s agree here and now: whoever chooses the creature’s origin must hand over their share of the elemental ore vein!”

After some thought, everyone agreed. This way, everyone would gain something regardless, so there was no need to worry about losing out.

Zhang Yi thought to himself: Originally, if the operation succeeded, I could only get half of the Jiangnan Region’s ten percent share of the elemental ore vein. But if I give up the creature’s origin in exchange for another share of the ore vein, that share would be entirely mine.

The Western forces finally reached a consensus. The four leaders then left the Conference Room. Everyone was already prepared for battle, so there was no need for further delay. They could head directly to the location of the abyss.

The four descended from the second floor. Their subordinate superhumans promptly stood up.

Li Yangyang gently rose from her chair, threw a cute glance at Fatty Xu, and gracefully returned to the Shengjing Region’s team.

Seeing them, Zong Yue placed his hands behind his back and announced loudly:

”For this operation, you will assist us in clearing out the lesser monsters of the Ground Centipede swarm!”

”Let me remind you here, do not underestimate your opponents. Among them are not lacking powerful individuals, and their numbers are vast.”

”A single moment of carelessness, and you could easily be overwhelmed by the insect swarm, dying without even a bone left!”

After this stern admonishment, Zong Yue changed his tone.

”However, this is also an excellent opportunity. Those Ground Centipedes have evolved by devouring vast amounts of elemental ore underground. Like superhumans, their bodies contain powerful origin energy.”

”So, for you, they are very nourishing supplements. As long as you have the strength to hunt down a few powerful Ground Centipedes, you can become stronger!”

The superhumans below were indeed tempted.

Resources were the scarcest commodity after the Apocalypse.

Especially for superhumans, there were only two paths to increase their strength.

First, receiving cultivation from a major region. The higher-ups would bestow various energy substances upon them and perform genetic modifications.

Second, participating in missions to kill rampaging superhumans or Mutated Creatures.

But as the major regions grew stronger and superhumans appeared on a large scale, the opportunities left for them became fewer and fewer.

Usually, for a single mission, a crowd of people would compete.

However, this time, an operation led by four Epsilons was absolutely the highest-level one in the Huaxu Kingdom since the Apocalypse!

Risk and opportunity coexisted.

As long as they could survive this operation and hunt a few powerful Ground Centipedes, they could achieve rapid growth.

After the Apocalypse, individual power was infinitely amplified. As long as you were strong enough, you could quickly rise to prominence.

Supplies, fame, power, the opposite sex, almost everything was tied to your strength.

Zong Yue’s simple words made the blood of those below boil with excitement.

Even Old You clenched his fists, his eyes filled with intense fighting spirit.

Liang Yue’s eyes also gleamed sharply, her left hand gripping her sword subconsciously tightening.

They couldn’t hide behind Zhang Yi forever, freeloading. To become stronger, to become true partners who could help Zhang Yi, they needed to rely on their own efforts!

Every superhuman was eager, hoping to use this opportunity to significantly improve their strength.

Even Hua Hua slowly opened its eyes from Liang Yue’s shoulder, a sharp glint flashing in its heterochromatic pupils.

Since absorbing the Divine Source, only two things stood between it and truly reaching Epsilon.

First, the origin of a higher-level Mutated Creature.

Second, time.

The former could accelerate its breakthrough. As long as it obtained enough origin, officially becoming an Epsilon-level Mutated Creature was merely a matter of time.

Among those present today, the gap in talent was vast. Some were cultivated through technology and extreme methods, their upper limits already locked.

But everyone wanted to fight for a future.

With the pre-battle mobilization over and no other matters, everyone immediately headed to Snow Dragon City’s train station.

From here, a special train to the Qinling Mountains could take them directly to the abyss where the elemental ore vein was discovered.

Everyone boarded the train according to their respective factions, heading towards Wuyou Valley.

Sitting on the train, Zhang Yi heard Yang Xinxin’s voice in his ear.

”Brother, try to prolong this battle a bit.”

Zhang Yi slowly opened his eyes. ”Oh? Why?”

According to the previous plan, the battle with the Ground Centipedes shouldn’t be dragged out too long.

Otherwise, letting those two Epsilon-level Broodmother and King Worm escape could lead to endless future troubles.

Inside Jingwei’s Shadow Space, the people within could actually observe the outside situation.

When Yang Xinxin arrived, she had observed the state of Snow Dragon City.

She said to Zhang Yi, ”Judging by Snow Dragon City’s scale, I believe Shengjing is actually holding back on us.”

”The scale of the elemental ore vein is much larger than imagined!”

A strange glint flashed in Zhang Yi’s eyes. ”Is that so?”

”However, this isn’t entirely unexpected.”

Naturally, everyone wants more of a good thing. By concealing the true reserves of the elemental ore vein, the Shengjing Region, as the leading force in mining, could obtain more resources.

It was just human nature.
