Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Deng Shentong’s mention of something very clever made people extremely curious.

Zhang Yi said, ”If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t keep us in suspense. Tell me, who exactly did you find?”

Deng Shentong did not directly say that person’s name.

He took a deep breath, as if trying hard to calm his mood.

”Zhang Yi, coming to Shengjing this time, is there someone you wanted to see but didn’t get to meet?”

Zhang Yi laughed and cursed, ”Nonsense, I don’t have any acquaintances in this Shengjing place. Who would I want to see?”

Deng Shentong looked at him with a smile, ”Think about it carefully. In Shengjing, is there anyone you care about?”

As soon as these words were spoken, a strange light suddenly bloomed in Yang Xinxin’s eyes.

Zhang Yi said, ”Care about? Then there’s only one person!”

That name immediately surfaced.

Apart from that powerful existence who possessed the [Hell’s Guillotine] ability, codenamed [Houtu], who else could make Zhang Yi unable to forget?

To this day, Zhang Yi had already become a powerful existence with a superhuman ability index of 15,000 points.

But whenever he thought of that afternoon, the soldiers who were tied to the guillotine with soul-hooking chains by the Black and White Impermanence and executed, Zhang Yi couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.

The ability to instantly kill enemies from over a thousand kilometers away, that immense power, even now when he thought about it, made Zhang Yi’s hair stand on end.

Zhang Yi’s gaze suddenly turned sharp, an instinct animals have when encountering natural predators.

”You’re saying Xinxin knows [Houtu]?”

Everyone present also looked grave upon hearing this name.

How could this be?

Everyone was puzzled. Yang Xinxin no longer had any close relatives she cared about in Shengjing, so how could she be connected to Houtu?

Deng Shentong spread his hands, ”While I had someone investigate Miss Yang’s social network, my friend suddenly told me the intelligence was classified.”

”Because they found an extremely confidential person, and all information about her is among Shengjing’s most secret files.”

”I originally intended to hide this news. After all, Shengjing’s relationships are complex, and it wouldn’t be strange for anyone to claim they know some important official.”

”But a few days later, I never expected that person would actually take the initiative to come find me.”

This wasn’t particularly surprising.

When Deng Shentong investigated information about Houtu, it would inevitably alert Shengjing’s secret departments, who then launched counter-reconnaissance.

Deng Shentong looked at Yang Xinxin, ”In the end, they actually discovered that Miss Yang and that Houtu were once close friends.”

”Close friends?”

A trace of disdain appeared at the corner of Yang Xinxin’s mouth, her eyes filled with arrogance toward ordinary people.

”Besides Ke Ran, I have no other close friends.”

She said coldly.

Lu Keran giggled, his face full of sweetness.

”Ahem, that, Miss Yang, you once attended Zhongting Elementary School, right?”

Deng Shentong asked.

Zhongting Elementary School, not many people knew this name.

Even if you asked some local Shengjing residents, they would only know traditional prestigious schools like Experimental Elementary School.

Zhongting Elementary School was a very, very low-profile school in terms of fame, but its strength was absolutely not low-profile.

Because this school only cultivated one type of person—true geniuses.

No matter how powerful or influential your family was, if your child didn’t have a high enough IQ, they couldn’t enter this school.

Of course, this was only the theory. In reality, for a school prepared only for top geniuses, even the children of the powerful would be utterly confused upon entering, completely unable to keep up with the teaching pace.

And Yang Xinxin, this genius whose IQ was measured at 164 after birth, close to the great physicist Einstein, had naturally also been in this academy.

Clearly, people coming from such a place very easily became top figures in certain fields.

Yang Xinxin’s expression was extremely calm. Looking at her demeanor, she seemed to have already guessed who that person was.

”What does she want?”

”She wants to meet you.”

Deng Shentong said.

”I need to consider it.”

Yang Xinxin said.

Deng Shentong nodded, ”The other party said they would respect your opinion. However, the person who came said he represents the Shengjing side and requests that you carefully consider this. Because that Houtu seems quite eager for this meeting with you.”

Zhang Yi grew increasingly curious. He looked at Yang Xinxin, wondering in his heart what kind of relationship she had with Houtu?

And what kind of person was that Houtu?

But based on Yang Xinxin’s information, Houtu shouldn’t be old either, probably around twenty years old.

Yang Xinxin walked over, pulled Zhang Yi’s sleeve, and led him to the back on her own.

She took Zhang Yi into her room, then closed the door behind her.

”Who exactly is that person? Are you very familiar with her?”

Zhang Yi asked curiously.

Yang Xinxin nodded, ”If Houtu is her, then it makes perfect sense.”

She told Zhang Yi a secret history of the Huaxu Kingdom.

”In fact, the nation has always had human science research projects, aimed at developing human potential and discovering some geniuses with special abilities.”

Zhang Yi nodded, ”Similar to the existence of something like the youth class back then.”

Yang Xinxin shook her head, ”Not just geniuses in the ordinary sense. Intelligence is only one aspect.”

She raised her head. Beneath her thick, dark bangs were eyes as deep and beautiful as the sea.

”And paranormal abilities!”

Zhang Yi was silent for a moment, ”Now they should be called superhuman abilities, right?”

In the past, paranormal abilities often appeared in movies, TV shows, or novels.

Occasionally, some science programs would interview people claiming to have paranormal abilities, but those shows could basically only be used as side dishes for meals.

People with truly powerful superhuman abilities could not openly appear on Huaxu Kingdom’s TV programs.

Because those were things science currently couldn’t explain.

But the vast majority of people believed that there must be some people in this world who possessed abilities ordinary people didn’t have.

With a large enough population, even if the probability of mutation was only one in hundreds of millions, there would always be mutants.

This was determined by the genetic sequence.

”So, Houtu is such an existence?”

Zhang Yi sat on the bed, let out a long sigh, and looked up at the ceiling.

”A superhuman who mutated and possessed superhuman abilities even before the Apocalypse arrived. Right?”

Yang Xinxin nodded.

”Correct. She is a true superhuman. Perhaps it could be said that only she is a true natural-born superhuman.”

”Because she has possessed some supernatural powers since birth, she was sent to Shengjing for research.”

”When I knew her, she had already displayed many incredible powers.”
