Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi sipped the warm tea and slowly nodded.

”Mhm.”

Deng Shentong remained speechless for a long time.

”As expected, you’re still as mysterious as ever. No one can see through your true strength.”

Yang Xinxin sat on a sofa not far from Zhang Yi, holding a delicate teacup. As she drank her tea, she asked Zhang Yi:

”Brother, do you plan to go to the Qinling Mountains area?”

Zhang Yi smiled faintly and asked in return, ”Do you think I should go?”

Yang Xinxin nodded without hesitation.

”The Shengjing Region has no reason to harm you, brother. According to their account, the Garrison Commander of Wuyou Valley is still alive, which means the threat underground isn’t as terrifying as imagined.”

”And given the current situation, the East Sea Region obviously cannot participate in the operation.”

”Li Changgong, to protect his own face, will definitely take part.”

”As for the Southwest Region,” Yang Xinxin shook her head with a smile, ”we can tell from the person they sent that they have no real intention of participating; it’s quite perfunctory.”

”But currently, Shengjing can at least mobilize both Zhen Yuanzi and Gouchen.”

”The Northeast Region’s Lu Ya is still uncertain, but even so, if you join in, brother, three Epsilon-level superhumans working together. The probability of this operation’s success is very high.”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”That’s what I think too. Moreover, I have many doubts about that kind of underground secret realm.”

He thought of the black-armored man from Mist Valley, and the Dragon King who, after being transformed, was in a living hell.

And the Dragon King’s dying words.

A strong sense of crisis enveloped Zhang Yi.

Although he didn’t know when that crisis would arrive, when faced with unknown fear, the best way to bring a sense of security is to continuously improve one’s own strength.

The elemental ore, if he obtained it, Zhang Yi could raise the entire Shelter’s defense level by a significant tier.

This deal still has considerable profit potential and is worth doing.

”I’ll consider this matter carefully, but I still need to observe further, to see the movements of the other regions. If there are no issues, I can make this trip.”

As Zhang Yi spoke, Zhou Ke’er placed one of his arms in front of her. Her hands emitted a soft white glow as she checked his body.

To ensure he hadn’t suffered any hidden injuries from his fight with Li Changgong.

Zhang Yi looked at her, then glanced at Yang Xinxin, Yang Siya, and the others.

He smiled and said, ”We don’t have much to do these next few days anyway, we can take a good look around Shengjing.”

”Oh, right, there’s one more thing. Old Deng, I need you to help arrange something.”

Zhang Yi looked at Deng Shentong.

The Deng Family had deep roots in the Huaxu Kingdom and extensive connections in Shengjing as well.

Deng Shentong straightened up. ”Just give the order, whatever it is!”

He was more than happy to be able to help Zhang Yi.

Zhang Yi smiled. ”Help me find a way to check if everyone has any relatives still alive in Shengjing.”

”Best to communicate with people from other regions too. If any living relatives are found, they can be sent to Tianhai City.”

Upon hearing Zhang Yi’s words, the expressions of everyone present immediately became complicated.

Old You let out a long sigh and shook his head.

His hometown was in a small village up north. As a bachelor who worked away from home year-round, there were no close relatives left in his family long ago.

Now, Zhang Yi was his family.

Fatty Xu was even less to say. Ever since returning, he had been glued to his game console without letting go. After hearing Zhang Yi’s words, he breathed a relieved sigh.

”Good thing everyone in our village is dead.”

Then he lowered his head and continued playing his game.

However, the several women, like Yang Xinxin, were different.

The Yang and Zhou families were once considered quite good families. Lu Keran’s origins weren’t high, but his parents were also senior intellectuals.

After the Apocalypse, the probability of their immediate family members surviving was also higher than the average person’s.

It wasn’t possible to say they didn’t want to look for them.

It’s just... they also had some concerns in their hearts.

If they found their families, would they continue living with Zhang Yi, or accompany their families?

Yang Xinxin’s expression was the most composed. She took a sip of coffee from her cup and said calmly:

”I have no relatives to look for.”

Her father passed away early due to illness, and her mother remarried abroad, with very little contact.

If it weren’t for this, she wouldn’t have been entrusted to Yang Siya’s care back then and sent to study at a closed-off elite school like Tianqing Academy.

So regarding the issue Zhang Yi mentioned, her heart was as still as an ancient well; she directly refused.

But not everyone was as free-spirited as her. After the Apocalypse, they often hoped their families were still alive.

Zhou Haimei’s hands rested on her knees, slightly clenched. After thinking for a moment, she still spoke up:

”Then I’ll trouble you, Mr. Deng! I actually have an older brother who used to do business in Shengjing. I just don’t know if he’s still alive.”

Zhou Ke’er looked at Zhang Yi somewhat uneasily, hugging his arm tighter as she said:

”I don’t know how my parents are doing. If they can be found, could we arrange a place for them to live in Tianhai City?”

”As for me, of course I won’t leave your side.”

Yang Siya also said, ”I naturally feel the same.”

Lu Keran said, ”Brother Zhang Yi, I think so too.”

Their expressions were a bit strange, as if afraid Zhang Yi would be unhappy.

Zhang Yi couldn’t help but laugh. ”This is a good thing. What’s with all your expressions? If they are your immediate family, you can bring them along. Tianhai City can support them now.”

Zhang Yi himself was alone. After his parents passed away, although he had relatives, they didn’t interact much usually.

But he knew that everyone needs family affection. He wouldn’t deprive his companions of this right.

”Old Deng, go arrange it!”

Deng Shentong said, ”No problem. Although Shengjing was affected back then, the impact should have been the smallest. After all, it’s the capital, with all sorts of emergency measures very well-established.”

”I can go look. Maybe your family members are still here.”

”But you should also be mentally prepared,” Deng Shentong spread his hands. ”I have to say the unpleasant truth upfront. Everyone’s families, whether wealthy or poor, are essentially ordinary families after the Apocalypse.”

”What state things are in under such a disaster, you all understand.”

Everyone nodded. They had also prepared themselves mentally; they wouldn’t be overly fragile.

They just wanted Deng Shentong to search, to settle the thoughts in their hearts.

This matter was left for Deng Shentong to arrange, which went without saying.

After arranging things for everyone, Zhang Yi walked over to Fatty Xu, who was sitting in the corner, and patted his shoulder.

Only then did Fatty Xu tear his eyes away from the screen and look at Zhang Yi.

”Boss?”

Zhang Yi said with a smile, ”Let’s chat about you and that girl!”
