Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi had noticed something was off between that woman and Fatty Xu for a while now.

However, this was only their first day in Shengjing, and Fatty Xu was already acting distracted and absent-minded.

If things continued like this, who knew what kind of mess they’d end up in.

Zhang Yi had to step in and get involved.

Hearing Zhang Yi’s question, Fatty Xu immediately knew it was about Li Yangyang.

His old face actually flushed a rare shade of red, and he scratched the back of his head, letting out a silly ”hehe” chuckle.

”Boss, you noticed already?”

Zhang Yi rolled his eyes. ”I’m not blind. Even a dog passing by could see that sleazy grin plastered all over your big face!”

Fatty Xu’s face flushed with excitement. He looked at Zhang Yi earnestly and said, word by word:

”Boss, I think I’m in love!”

Zhang Yi: ”????”

Zhang Yi stood frozen in place for at least ten seconds.

He opened his mouth, trying to say something, but after thinking for a long time, his brain couldn’t come up with the right words.

After a long while, he finally managed to say with difficulty, ”Didn’t you say you didn’t believe in love anymore?”

Fatty Xu explained, ”That was then, this is now. Back then, I hadn’t met a woman who was right for me, but now—” his eyes sparkled, filled with the cloying, sour-sweet stench of being in love, ”I’ve found my destined person!”

He clasped his hands together, his face full of piety and happiness, and said:

”I used to think I’d only ever meet a girl like that in a Galgame. But I never dreamed I’d actually meet one in real life in my lifetime!”

”Boss, this time, I definitely won’t let her slip away!”

Zhang Yi frowned, looking at the fat man before him with some disgust.

”I think you’re really just hungry.”

”A dead fat otaku’s delusions are the most terrifying! Fatty, what could she possibly like about you? That you’re fat? That you love going to Blizzard City for foot massages?”

Fatty Xu was so scared he jumped up, putting his index finger to his lips.

”Shh— Boss, let’s not bring up the past. This time, I’ve really found true love. You have to support me!”

Zhang Yi took a deep breath.

”Sir, do you not look in the mirror every day? She is beautiful, many people drool when they see her.”

His hands gestured from Fatty Xu’s face down to his feet.

”With a distinguished appearance like yours, how do you have the courage to say such things?”

For a brief moment, Fatty Xu’s expression dimmed, but he quickly clenched his fists, his gaze firming up again.

”Boss, that’s what love is!”

Zhang Yi: ”I love your mother’s hemp flower love! You idiot, it’s obvious that woman is targeting me. Don’t you even understand such a simple thing?”

Fatty Xu’s body stiffened, and then he looked at Zhang Yi with eyes full of disbelief.

”Boss, you already have so many beautiful women around you, and you still want to compete with me for her?”

Zhang Yi took several deep breaths, barely suppressing the urge to hit someone.

”I’m saying, her purpose in getting close to you is to extract information about all of us from your mouth.”

”You haven’t said anything you shouldn’t have, right?”

Zhang Yi’s gaze turned serious.

Fatty Xu gulped, because when Zhang Yi was serious, he always had an aura that made Fatty Xu feel awe and fear.

He also knew that this was absolutely not the time to joke around with Zhang Yi.

Fatty Xu shook his head like a rattle-drum. ”Boss, no way! She didn’t ask a single word about you.”

Zhang Yi said calmly, ”You’ve only known her for a day, and you’re already head over heels in love with her. Once you’re fully hooked, she’ll just have to ask casually, and you’ll be practically ripping your underwear off to show her.”

”Fatty, I treat the people around me pretty well, don’t I?”

Fatty Xu thought to himself: If she wanted me to take my underwear off, I’d be begging for the chance.

”Boss, you treat all of us really well. That much I’m clear about.”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”Hmm, good that you know. But this kindness isn’t without requirements. I’m only good to my own people.”

He didn’t say much more, just patted Fatty Xu on the shoulder and whispered a single sentence in his ear:

”If you reveal even the slightest bit of information about me, or about us, to an outsider, then for the sake of our past friendship, I’ll send you to the Dawn Rain Base to step on a generator.”

Fatty Xu shuddered all over.

He had never stepped on a generator himself, but he had personally witnessed the conditions at the three major bases.

Although everyone in the Shelter lived comfortably with ample food, clothing, and a superior lifestyle.

In the three major bases of Tianhai City, people were barely scraping by, just surviving.

The ordinary people at the bottom, aside from eating and sleeping, spent almost all their time laboring, living like animals just to stay alive.

That kind of life, for the current Fatty Xu, would be worse than death!

”Boss, don’t worry, I absolutely won’t reveal a single word to her!”

Fatty Xu immediately stood at attention, shouting at the top of his lungs.

Zhang Yi smiled slightly.

”I don’t care what you say. I’ll watch what you do.”

He patted Fatty Xu’s chubby cheek and then told him to get lost.

In Zhang Yi’s mind, he was already convinced that the woman named Li Yangyang was very suspicious.

However, there was one thing he couldn’t figure out.

Li Yangyang belonged to Shengjing’s Dragon’s Roar Guards, a very elite unit.

As a steward assigned to serve them, Li Yangyang should be a very professional individual.

Even if she wanted to go undercover and gather intelligence, she wouldn’t use such an obvious method.

Even if she wanted to use a honey trap, she should have tried to seduce Zhang Yi directly. Going after Fatty Xu was just too fake.

”Could it be that she knows I’m a gentleman and is afraid her charms aren’t enough?”

Zhang Yi rubbed his chin, feeling there must be something strange behind this.

He’d give Fatty Xu a warning shot first, and then keep watching to see what that woman was really up to.

As for whether Li Yangyang actually liked Fatty Xu?

Well, that could compete for the funniest joke of the year.

Unless her eyes had a problem, there was absolutely no possibility of that.

...

After Li Changgong returned, his subordinates, the Five Pole War Gods, immediately came to greet him.

Li Changgong stood with his hands behind his back, an aloof expression on his face. He didn’t say a word, yet he gave off a proud, self-assured aura.

Seeing this, his subordinates were somewhat unsure about how the battle had actually gone.

After they returned to their lodgings, the Sky War God approached and flattered:

”Commander, you must have taught that ignorant Chaos who doesn’t know his place a harsh lesson this time, right?”

Li Changgong leaned back in his chair, his expression imposing even without anger. He said indifferently, ”You could say that.”

His subordinates were puzzled.

You could say that?

So, was it a yes or a no?

Li Changgong gave a cold laugh, unhurriedly took a sip of tea, and then said:

”I didn’t expect that Chaos’s strength would be quite formidable as well. His codename is [Absolute Defense], and basically, when fighting me, he only defended and never attacked, just kept fleeing. He refused to engage me head-on.”

”Continuing to fight like that wouldn’t have had any meaning, so I had no choice but to let it end there.”
