Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Fatty Xu didn’t have any coins either. He walked up to Li Yangyang, scratching his head with a silly grin.

”Uh, I don’t have a coin. Can I throw something else?”

Li Yangyang smiled gently. ”No one has coins anymore! Just throw whatever you like. It’s just to express a sentiment, to hope for a good prize.”

Fatty Xu pulled half a packet of biscuits from his pocket and tossed it into the mouth of the well.

He lowered his head, sneaking a glance at Li Yangyang, then pressed his palms together with force and began to make a wish.

Soon, the women from the household lined up, laughing merrily. They also threw in some small trinkets they carried with them and made their wishes.

”I hope the apocalypse ends soon, so everyone can return to a normal life.”

”I hope we can stay safe and sound forever.”

”I hope for world peace.”

...

Zhang Yi had his hands in his pockets and initially wasn’t willing to go over, but Zhou Ke’er, beaming with a smile, grabbed his arm and practically dragged him there.

”Since we’re already here, just make a wish! Consider it for good luck.”

Hearing this, Zhang Yi said, ”Fair point. Then I’ll just casually make a wish.”

After speaking, he opened his palm, and a gleaming golden coin appeared in it.

It was a 24K pure gold commemorative coin. Zhang Yi had many of these things; he usually tossed them around for fun anyway, since after the apocalypse, there was nowhere to spend them.

Seeing this, everyone looked at Zhang Yi with strange expressions.

Wow, you call *that* casual?

Zhang Yi was indeed being casual. He didn’t believe in these things, but while he didn’t believe, he held a sense of reverence.

He flicked his thumb, sending the gold coin tumbling into the Lock Dragon Well.

”I hope we can all be safe and sound, with ample food and clothing.”

That’s what Zhang Yi said.

He never had any grand, lofty aspirations to begin with. He only wished for himself and the friends by his side to be safe and happy.

The people from the household started clamoring, saying Zhang Yi did it on purpose.

Then a bunch of them crowded around Zhang Yi, demanding he take out more gold coins and make another wish.

Zhang Yi directly pulled out a large handful of gold coins, letting them take as they pleased, and even casually gave one to Li Yangyang.

With so many coins, everyone ended up making quite a few wishes.

Zhang Yi couldn’t help but say, ”Hey, don’t be too greedy. If you make too many wishes, they won’t come true.”

But Zhou Ke’er countered, ”If there really are gods, maybe they’re busy right now? With everyone rushing to make wishes, they might not be able to hear them all. So I should say a few more. If even one comes true, that would be wonderful.”

Zhang Yi rubbed his forehead. ”Your grasp of probability is quite good.”

After Fatty Xu finished scattering his biscuits, he ran off to the side and started chatting with Li Yangyang.

Zhang Yi watched, grinding his teeth in disbelief that this guy, Fatty Xu, could actually make Li Yangyang laugh non-stop.

He secretly used the Smart System to analyze their lip movements and discovered that Fatty Xu was actually telling Li Yangyang game walkthroughs!

This...

Well, I guess it takes one to know one. They just clicked.

Fatty Xu, getting carried away with his excitement, said proudly, ”In this scene, this mood, I feel like reciting a poem!”

He pointed at the nearby Lock Dragon Well and recited:

”The sky and earth one blurry mass,

On the ground, a black hole yawns.

Yellow dog turns white with frost,

White dog swells up, its form is lost.”

Zhang Yi sneered.

Of course. A simp through and through, every line dripping with it.

After everyone finished tossing their offerings and making wishes, they headed towards the next scenic spot.

However, just after leaving, Zhang Yi suddenly felt a sensation of being watched from behind.

The muscles in his back instantly tensed.

He slowly turned his head. Behind him, there was only the Lock Dragon Well, encircled by iron chains and concrete railings, lying solitary in the snow.

Zhang Yi took a deep breath, stopped worrying about it, turned around, and quickly walked away.

After gaining the ability of All Things Follow Traces, his intuition had become frighteningly accurate. He often experienced these inexplicable sensations.

Especially when sleeping at night, he would occasionally hear something akin to murmuring, echoing by his ear.

Initially, Zhang Yi thought these signs were just him being too tired and needing a good rest.

But later, the frequency of these occurrences increased.

He thought something might be wrong with his body, or perhaps he had developed something like post-apocalyptic stress disorder after the apocalypse.

However, after Zhou Ke’er conducted a thorough examination, the conclusion was that there were no problems with his mind or body whatsoever.

As time went on, Zhang Yi could only set this issue aside.

After all, it didn’t happen very often, and it didn’t affect his daily life.

”Could it be that I have a ghost-seeing constitution?”

Zhang Yi shook his head with a bitter smile.

Over the next few days, their group traveled around the Shengjing Region, enjoying the scenery. Although the weather was cold and many places had lost their appeal for fun, there were still plenty of spots to enjoy.

During this time, Zhang Yi also had a call with Zhu Zheng.

Naturally, Zhu Zheng hoped Zhang Yi would agree to the Shengjing Region’s request and participate in the operation.

However, the final decision rested with Zhang Yi himself.

On another front, Deng Shentong had mobilized the Deng Family’s connections to have people search for the families of Zhang Yi’s companions, and there had been a response.

The outcome wasn’t too surprising.

For those few with family members in Shengjing, based on the information they provided, no matching individuals were found in Shengjing.

In fact, a few had already been confirmed dead.

After hearing this, everyone felt a wave of grief, but they had already been mentally prepared, so they adjusted quickly.

”So, not a single living person was found?”

Zhang Yi couldn’t help but ask.

Deng Shentong spread his hands helplessly. ”You should understand how difficult it is for ordinary people to survive after the apocalypse.”

”Those you asked me to find were all just ordinary people. If they had been soldiers, or held power and wealth, their survival rate would have been much higher.”

”Not to mention, it’s been over a year into the apocalypse now. Even those who were alive initially, many have died in the aftermath.”

The loved ones Zhang Yi’s companions were searching for were their parents, who were quite old. They were indeed more likely to perish after the apocalypse.

This point really wasn’t too unexpected for Zhang Yi.

”It is indeed a bit regrettable,”

Zhang Yi said.

”However,” Deng Shentong changed his tone, ”it’s not like we had no gains at all.”

As he said this, his eyes suddenly fell on one person: Yang Xinxin.

Everyone’s gaze landed on her.

Yang Xinxin frowned slightly. ”Me?”

She felt rather baffled. In this world, besides Zhang Yi, she originally didn’t have any close relatives left.

As for those from the Yang Family or other relatives, she didn’t care one bit.

She hadn’t asked Deng Shentong to find anyone for her, so why was he bringing her up?

Yang Siya said excitedly, ”Is it that someone from the Yang Family is still alive?”

Deng Shentong shook his head. ”That’s not it. It’s just that while searching based on Miss Yang’s connections, we accidentally discovered something quite... coincidental.”
