Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

The sound of eggshells cracking grew increasingly dense.

The two Epsilon-level superhumans looked around and saw that many of the Ground Centipede eggs they had previously ignored were now hatching prematurely due to the shockwaves from their battle.

On the ground, on the rock walls, even on the ceiling of the cave above them, Ground Centipede eggs fixed in place by white mucus were hatching, releasing bizarre Ground Centipedes.

”So it’s just these little things.”

Han Shanzuo’s mouth twisted into a smirk, his face full of disdain.

Although these things were numerous, densely packed and rather creepy.

But since they had already killed the Broodmother, what kind of waves could these little centipedes possibly stir up?

”You handle them all!”

Li Changgong said to Han Shanzuo.

”My abilities aren’t suited for cleaning up battlefields.”

In a one-on-one fight, his ability was nearly unbeatable. However, when the number of enemies increased, even if they were just weak minions, it would trouble him for a long time.

This was perhaps the one, and biggest, flaw in his ability.

”Hey, that’s a minor issue. We haven’t even agreed yet on how to split this origin energy!”

Han Shanzuo smiled and looked down. He hadn’t dispelled his transformation;his massive crow body stood over a hundred meters tall, like a skyscraper.

He looked down at Li Changgong on the ground, who also rested his hand on his long sword, smiling back at him.

Neither side completely trusted the other.

But at that moment, Han Shanzuo’s gaze suddenly sharpened, and he looked past Li Changgong in shock.

”That thing... holy shit, get out of the way!”

A flicker of surprise crossed Li Changgong’s eyes, then he smiled. ”Don’t play that trick on me, we’re not kids...”

Before he could finish his sentence, his body felt a tremendous oppressive force, locked onto him from directly behind.

The Broodmother, whose head had been severed, had stood up again. From its neck, now oozing with green blood, a brand new head ”gurgled” and surged forth.

It all happened in the blink of an eye.

While Han Shanzuo and Li Changgong were focused on being wary of each other, neither had imagined that this subterranean creature could still be alive after having its head cut off!

They had forgotten that underground creatures cannot be judged by common sense, let alone mutated underground creatures?

The Broodmother, now behind Li Changgong, immediately launched an attack. It let out a sharp cry from its mouth, and an invisible Annihilation soundwave rapidly shot toward Li Changgong!

The distance between them was too close. By the time Li Changgong snapped back to his senses, the soundwave was already upon him.

At the critical moment, his left hand swung the sword backward in a reverse slash.

*Vroom—*

The ground shattered. This slash blocked the terrifying attack, but Li Changgong’s combat suit was instantly torn to shreds!

Li Changgong looked somewhat disheveled now, with only tattered fragments of clothing hanging on him. The combat suit could only help him adapt to the environment and provide basic defensive capabilities.

But in a true Epsilon-level battle, its defense couldn’t be said to be non-existent, but it was very limited.

Now, a troublesome problem arose.

With the combat suit destroyed, the changes in air pressure deep underground would cause discomfort to his body, and this place was extremely oxygen-deprived.

Li Changgong immediately created distance from the Broodmother and called out to Han Shanzuo for help.

”Do you have any spare oxygen tablets and a combat suit?”

Han Shanzuo glanced at Li Changgong and still chose to help him. Despite their conflicting interests, they were still on the same side at this moment.

He shook his wing, and a spare combat suit was tossed in front of Li Changgong.

Meanwhile, he himself kept a firm watch on the Broodmother before him, preventing it from launching an attack at this time.

However, the revived Broodmother did not seize the opportunity to attack.

It coldly ”stared” at the enemies before it, instead slowly creating more distance, its massive body slithering across the ground.

Han Shanzuo understood its purpose now.

Because at that moment, tens of thousands of Ground Centipedes had unknowingly appeared throughout the cavern.

Apart from the newly hatched Ground Centipedes, there were also the adults that had been summoned earlier by the Broodmother’s call for reinforcements.

”This is going to be a bit of a hassle!”

Han Shanzuo let out a sigh. Li Changgong finally finished changing into the new combat suit, still feeling a lingering fear.

What did being an Epsilon-level matter?

Under the power of nature, they were still fragile and weak. Without oxygen, they would still die.

He swallowed hard, thinking to himself: I need to be even more careful!

The insect swarm surged from all directions, beginning to charge at Han Shanzuo and Li Changgong.

Li Changgong’s expression turned somewhat grim. His ability wasn’t very convenient for dealing with group battles.

If it were just a few thousand Ground Centipedes, he could still rely on his extreme speed to cut them down one by one.

But the number of Ground Centipedes underground was unimaginably vast!

What followed was bound to be a tough fight.

However, neither he nor Han Shanzuo had any intention of calling for reinforcements.

With two more people, dividing this origin energy would become even more difficult.

”Caw, caw, caw, caw!”

Han Shanzuo’s [Omen of Calamity] was released indiscriminately across the entire cavern. All Ground Centipedes within the cave were affected, their mobility greatly restricted, as if swimming through a swamp.

”I’ll handle these small fries, you go deal with the Broodmother?”

Han Shanzuo said to Li Changgong.

Li Changgong nodded. ”That seems to be the only way!”

”But, won’t we risk letting it escape?”

Han Shanzuo hesitated.

This was underground, its home turf.

Li Changgong looked at him. ”Then what do you want to do?”

Han Shanzuo fell silent. Li Changgong understood his meaning.

Call for reinforcements, have Zong Yue and Zhang Yi come together. Four against one would be the safest approach!

But they were both unwilling to split the spoils.

”Let’s fight first and talk later!”

Time waits for no one. Rather than hesitating here, it was better to strike first and fight with everything they had!

Li Changgong was confident in a one-on-one fight with the Broodmother. This kind of giant beast was his ideal prey.

The problem now was finding its vital spot to deliver a fatal blow.

If the core wasn’t the head, then he would just have to probe again and again until he found its weak point!

For this, Han Shanzuo absolutely had to clear away the hordes of small fry around him.

Han Shanzuo soared into the air. ”Caw, caw.” He waved his black wings, and countless black feathers fell, transforming into a sky full of crows that flew toward the Ground Centipedes.

The crows tangled with the Ground Centipedes. When the fight reached a certain point, they could even self-destruct directly.

This relieved immense pressure on Li Changgong, providing him space for a one-on-one fight with the Broodmother.

Li Changgong gripped his long sword with both hands and instantly charged forward.

[No Distance Within the Six Realms]. In a flash, he covered a thousand meters. His speed was too fast;the Broodmother simply couldn’t evade his pursuit.

But this time, without Han Shanzuo pinning it down from the front, and with the Broodmother now wary of his attack pattern, it wouldn’t be so easy to succeed.
