The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 440: Chapter 440: Pretending to be Siblings Chapter 440: Chapter 440: Pretending to be Siblings Xiao Lingzhi turned to look at Little Taotie, and couldn’t hold back a burst of laughter, “You look just like a silly daughter from a landlord’s household!”

Little Taotie tugged at her braid, actually quite fond of her outfit, which only the beloved child of a household would wear in vivid red and green back in their village.

She tilted her head to look at Xiao Lingzhi, who had mocked her, and retaliated with a feigned fierceness, “You look like a little beggar.”

Xiao Lingzhi looked down at herself, her face contorted in distress, “… I do look like it.”

The director, ever eager to stir up trouble, urged the photographer to capture Xiao Lingzhi’s despondent little face.

“They’re starting to argue!” the director chuckled wickedly.

Photographer, “Your mind is too malevolent! You actually enjoy watching children fight!”

“You don’t understand, audiences love a good catfight!”

“No one likes that. I remind you, ours is a laid-back variety show!”

The director coughed awkwardly, “Do I need your reminder? Just shoot! Focus on the face!”

In the frame, Xiao Lingzhi’s face was grimy and pained, truly resembling a little beggar.

Xiao Lingzhi tugged at the wig on her head, “Why do we have to dress up like this?”

Little Taotie recalled, “The makeup artist Auntie said, it’s to blend in with the village.”

“Are we staying in a village next?” Xiao Lingzhi suddenly energized like he had been injected with adrenaline, “Can I swing a sickle around in the fields?”

A staff member came over with a card, hearing her question, shook his head mercilessly, “No, that’s too dangerous.”

Xiao Lingzhi stamped her foot in annoyance, yet she started scheming internally.

–Just because you said no? I won’t listen!

She had watched an animated film a few days ago where the Grim Reaper wore a black cloak and wielded a sickle, looking incredibly cool!

The staff member opened the card and read, “This getup is to conceal your identities so you can deeply experience the authentic Pastoral Life. Little Taotie is the younger sister, and Xiao Lingzhi is the older brother; you are siblings.”

The sibling dynamic idea arose after the director saw online that Little Taotie and Xiao Lingzhi were being shipped as a couple.

Xiao Lingzhi already resembled a boyish girl, so they had her dress as a boy.

Xiao Lingzhi jumped excitedly, her eyes gleaming as she stared at Little Taotie, exclaiming excitedly, “Quick, quick, call me big brother!”

Little Taotie, “…”

“Hurry up, call me big brother!”

“I don’t want to!”

Little Taotie turned her back, presenting her indifferent back to her.

Xiao Lingzhi yelled toward the director, “Someone manage her, she’s not cooperating! Little Taotie is being disobedient!”

Little Taotie shifted slightly, stealthily glancing at the director.

The director picked up the megaphone and shouted, “Little Taotie, you are younger than Xiao Lingzhi…”

Little Taotie turned her back away again, presenting her cold back toward the director.

“No! Xiao Lingzhi lost last time, she agreed to call me ‘sister’ from now on!”

“There was such an incident?” the director wondered.

Xiao Lingzhi immediately played dumb, shaking her head repeatedly in denial, “That never happened! There was no such thing!”

“You’re lying!” Little Taotie fumed as she stared at Xiao Lingzhi.

Xiao Lingzhi guiltily avoided her gaze, her eyes flitting about.

The director scratched his head, while the photographer reminded, “You’re already running out of hair, stop scratching.”

The director withdrew his hand and opened his palm to see, three strands of hair!

The wind blew past, whisking the hair from his palm away.

The director’s heart bled.

Photographer, “Xiao Lingzhi is clearly feeling guilty, she’s lying.”

The director picked up the megaphone again and shouted, “Then you two will be twins, Little Taotie as the elder sister, Xiao Lingzhi as the younger brother.”

“But I’m older, don’t I have any pride?” Xiao Lingzhi got angry, stomping vehemently to express her dissatisfaction, “I don’t want to shoot anymore! I want to go home!”

The director glanced at the tantrum-throwing Xiao Lingzhi, and, as her manager was also present, coughed to gain attention and said, “Please talk to your kid.”

In the past, the manager would have been nodding and bowing already.

After all, Xiao Lingzhi wasn’t popular yet and was just a guest, always on the verge of being sent away.

But things were different now!

Xiao Lingzhi was now the designated playmate appointed by Chairman Cheng for Little Taotie, who, if this were ancient times, would be a companion reader to the little princess!
