The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 404: Chapter 404: Have I Sprouted Flowers on My Head? Chapter 404: Chapter 404: Have I Sprouted Flowers on My Head? Little Taotie returned home, feeling utterly gloomy.

Hua Jinyan knocked on the door.

Little Taotie mumbled, “I was asleep.”

Hua Jinyan chuckled, “So are you sleep-talking now?”

Little Taotie was choked up.

Hua Jinyan knocked on the door again, “May I visit your dreams and talk in dreams with you?”

Little Taotie pursed her lips, feeling awkward, “Well…okay then.”

She got out of bed, hugged her teddy bear, went to the door, opened it, and looked down, avoiding eye contact with Hua Jinyan who stood at the door.

Seeing her downcast, Hua Jinyan frowned.

He had heard that an accident had occurred during the shooting.

He didn’t know who had chosen the location, but to think such a thing could happen–it turned out there was even a skeleton on the island.

Hua Jinyan worried inwardly: Had she been frightened?

But considering Little Taotie was normally unafraid even when facing terrifying Evil Spirits, it seemed unlikely that she had been scared.

So why was she gloomy?

Hua Jinyan asked, “May I come in?”

Little Taotie stepped aside, allowing Hua Jinyan into the room.

As soon as Hua Jinyan entered, Little Taotie closed the door tightly behind him.

Cheng Guodong, who was peeking toward Little Taotie’s room from the staircase, sighed softly, “She closed the door.”

Qin Xin: “Hua Jinyan should be able to find out what happened.”

Cheng Guodong: “Could she have been scared?”

Qin Xin shook his head: “She’s not afraid.”

Cheng Guodong was baffled: “Then why is it?”

Qin Xin helplessly: “We can only know the answer when Hua Jinyan comes out.”

In the room, Little Taotie asked Hua Jinyan to sit on a small sofa covered with many plush toys.

Hua Jinyan, with his delicate features and fair skin, sat amidst a pile of plush toys, looking like a human-shaped doll.

“Can you tell me why you’ve been holed up in your room since you came back?”

Little Taotie hugged the teddy bear, pursed her lips, and did not answer.

Hua Jinyan’s voice softened, “By not telling me, are you saying we’re no longer comrades?”

“…no.”

Hua Jinyan: “Between comrades, what secrets can’t we share?”

Little Taotie lifted her eyes, once filled with radiant starlight, now dimmed as if clouds had obscured the stars of the night sky. She glanced at Hua Jinyan, seemingly weighing whether she could tell him.

“Tell me, I’m really worried about you.” Hua Jinyan spoke softly, his voice very gentle.

Little Taotie puffed up her cheeks, looked down, and spoke in a muffled voice, “I really told the truth, but the police officer thought I was a bad kid, believing I was lying, that I’m a lying bad kid! His… he lost several flowers from his head, he doesn’t like me anymore.”

The male police officer thought that Little Taotie’s teary eyes were because he had scolded her.

But actually, from Little Taotie’s perspective, the police officer’s head had been originally covered in morning glories, but suddenly they began to wilt, with several blossoms vanishing outright.

This represented a shift from liking to disliking.

At that moment, Little Taotie’s nose had become a bit sour, and she had nearly cried.

This was the first time she had ever witnessed flowers atop someone’s head begin to wilt and disappear.

After understanding the situation, Hua Jinyan leaned forward and asked, “Do I have any flowers on my head?”

Little Taotie looked up and saw, her face turning slightly red, “There are.”

“What kind of flowers?”

Little Taotie gazed at the flowers on Hua Jinyan’s head, pursed her lips, her cheeks flushed, and replied softly, “Roses, my favorite flowers.”
