The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 429: Chapter 429: Bald Workers Chapter 429: Chapter 429: Bald Workers The episode of Pastoral Life was scrapped because of the murder case on the island, requiring a complete reshoot.

The director clutched his hair, glanced at the fallen strands on the desk, and wailed inside: I’m going balder!

A phone call came in, bringing another piece of bad news.

Little Taotie was about to start school, and once school started, all other work except for D tones would be dropped.

Including, Pastoral Life!

Because Pastoral Life had been suspended before, the contract was signed for each episode separately, which also meant that Little Taotie could exit the show at any time without breaching the contract.

The director called an emergency meeting, gathering the main members of the production team.

Looking around the table, each person was troubled by baldness.

The director turned to the cameraman in surprise, “Didn’t you have a hair transplant?”

The cameraman rubbed his bald head: “The shady boss got the death penalty, why would I keep that hair?”

“What’s the situation?”

“The place where I went for the hair transplant was run by one of the masterminds behind the island murder case.”

The director recalled that one of them seemed to own a medical aesthetics clinic.

The cameraman flaunted his bald head: “Honestly, being bald is better than being balding. I suggest you all shave it off too!”

The director twitched the corner of his mouth, imagining future meetings filled with bald heads…

Maybe they wouldn’t even need to turn on the lights!

“Back to business, the show is facing a major crisis!”

The director informed everyone about Little Taotie leaving the show once school started.

As expected, everyone panicked.

The director felt a sense of balance in his heart.

The cameraman: “Gu Yixing came for Little Taotie. Once Little Taotie stops filming, he will definitely quit too.”

The strategy director: “Without Gu Yixing and Little Taotie, what’s the show’s appeal?”

The art director: “It’s over, that’s a no-go.”

The strategy manager: “Can she still shoot during her holidays?”

The strategy director: “That’s the key issue!”

The director: “You hit the nail on the head.”

The director pulled out a chart he had made.

“With the time left, if we squeeze child labor, we should be able to shoot several episodes. By making the show longer and dividing each episode into two parts for airing, we can stretch it until her holiday and then shoot the following episodes, so there won’t be a break!”

The art director: “Is it that full?”

The director spread his hands: “We’re really pressed for time!”

The cameraman: “Chairman Cheng is a sister-complex maniac. Are you sure he’ll let you exploit Little Taotie like this?”

The director sighed: “Little Taotie seems to really enjoy filming. As long as we arrange content that she enjoys, Chairman Cheng will probably relent and agree.”

The director looked at the strategy group’s director and manager, “This glorious task, you must catch it!”

The strategy director and manager exchanged glances, both wearing pained expressions.

After days and nights of scriptwriting, the strategy team finally came up with a satisfactory plan.

The director straightened his suit and knocked on Chairman Cheng’s office door.

“Come in.”

“Chairman Cheng, I am the director of Pastoral Life, and here is our plan for the next few episodes. Please take a look before making a decision. The show can’t go on without Little Taotie; she is the soul of the entire program.”

Cheng Guodong skimmed through the document, frowning: “So you want her to work on your show every day until she starts school?”

The director rubbed his hands embarrassingly: “Basically, everything involves amusement activities, our purpose is to ensure Little Taotie eats well, drinks well, and enjoys herself.”

“Sweet talk,” Cheng Guodong snorted coldly.

The director pleaded: “Chairman Cheng, if there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, we can change it. We’ll do whatever you say!”

Cheng Guodong glanced at him indifferently: “Go back first, and wait for notification.”

The director returned to the production team, and everyone gathered around, inquiring about the results.

The director grimaced: “Wait for notification.”

The art director: “It’s over, that’s a no-go.”

The strategy director: “When I say this during auditions, it means I’m not satisfied with the person.”

The art director: “Yes, it’s a lost cause.”

…

Cheng Guodong was ready to toss the plan.

Expecting his younger sister to work every day before school was wishful thinking!

But just as he was about to throw it away, the phone rang.

On the other end of the phone was Little Taotie’s childlike voice: “Big brother, the fans in the live broadcast room are asking me when I will shoot Pastoral Life?”

Cheng Guodong withdrew his hand, thankful that he hadn’t thrown it away.

He probed cautiously: “Do you really like this show?”

Little Taotie answered loudly: “I do!”

“King of Film Xu, Mother Cheng, and Brother Xingxing are all so nice to me!”

“I really like Teacher Beibei, he took me diving and climbing trees to pick fruit!”

“I’m not sure if Xiao Lingzhi will come for the next shoot, she said she is a flying guest and might not be able to come next time…”
