The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 407: Chapter 407: No Record of Wang Yueji Chapter 407: Chapter 407: No Record of Wang Yueji Ghost’s face was extremely pained as she reached up to hold her head, with dark red blood flowing down from it, trailing down her forehead across her cheeks, dripping off her chin, drop by drop onto the ground…

Even though she was just a spiritual body, she could still feel the pain that stemmed from her soul, a pain that was deeply seared into her soul at the moment of death.

“Sister, stop thinking about it!”

Little Taotie rushed over and hugged Ghost, her arms flashing with golden light. After a brief embrace lasting only three breaths, Little Taotie’s arms passed through Ghost’s body.

But those brief three breaths were enough to soothe Ghost. The dark red blood turned into blue smoke and disappeared, and she returned to her original, dimly lit form.

From the male police officer’s perspective, he couldn’t see Ghost bleeding and in endless agony. He only saw Little Taotie suddenly rush towards nothingness, performing a hugging motion.

What was most eerie was that he actually felt Little Taotie had hugged something!

Hugged something tangible!

If this were a silent pantomime, he really would have wanted to applaud, for Little Taotie’s performance was too convincing, making it feel as if she truly hugged something or someone.

But at this moment, the male police officer who believed in Ghost’s existence couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat. He didn’t find it hard to imagine that what Little Taotie had hugged was–Ghost!

After Little Taotie had consoled Ghost Sister and saw her emotions stabilize, she spoke in a babyish voice, “Sister, don’t think about it anymore, let the police uncle help you investigate.”

Tears welled up in Ghost’s eyes, and she muttered dispiritedly, “I’m useless.”

“It’s not Sister’s fault. Sister forgot because she was hurt in the head,” Little Taotie reassured.

Ghost sighed, “I can only vaguely remember that my name is Wang Yueji, ‘Yueji’ as in the ‘Yueji’ of the rose flowers.”

Little Taotie nodded and turned to look at the male police officer, who was still struggling to calm down, speaking in her babyish voice, “Police uncle, Sister can’t remember who killed her. She can only remember her name. She’s called Wang Yueji, ‘Yueji’ as in the ‘Yueji’ of the rose flowers.”

The male police officer stood up excitedly, “Good, I’ll have someone check on it right away! Having a name is good. We can find out quickly!”

The police officer came in a rush and left in a hurry, but before he left, he gave Little Taotie a gift. He said it was an apology present for having misunderstood her before.

Little Taotie initially refused to accept it, but the police officer said that if Little Taotie didn’t take it, it would mean she hadn’t truly forgiven him, so reluctantly, Little Taotie blushed and accepted the gift.

Little Taotie opened the gift bag, and inside was a shiny headband, adorned with little diamonds shaped like small flowers, glittering brightly.

Cheng Guodong came over, picked up the headband, and examined it thoroughly.

Qin Xin frowned, “What are you looking at? Don’t you see the little sister is anxious?”

Cheng Guodong looked down only to see Little Taotie eagerly eying the headband, as if afraid she would accidentally break it.

Cheng Guodong couldn’t help but smile wryly and shake his head as he gently placed the headband on his sister, complimenting, “I didn’t expect the police to have such good taste. It suits Little Taotie very well; it’s beautiful!”

Little Taotie’s pretty eyes sparkled, and she trotted off to look in the mirror.

Cheng Guodong remarked, “It looks handmade, not bought. He put thought into it.”

Qin Xin was taken aback, “The police made it himself?”

Recalling the stern, square-faced police officer and imagining him crafting a headband, Qin Xin’s mouth twitched, “Truly multi-talented!”

Little Taotie stood in front of the mirror, bringing her little face close to it, tilting her head to check the left side, then tilting to check the right side.

Her companion, Ghost Sister, complimented, “It’s beautiful.”

Little Taotie looked at her companion, Ghost Sister, then back at the mirror, which failed to reflect Ghost Sister standing beside her.

The police officer returned to the station and immediately had someone check the name “Wang Yueji.”

A female police officer frowned, “The deceased passed away twenty years ago, and the forensic analysis determined her age to be twenty years old, which would make her forty now. However, there isn’t a single person named Wang Yueji who is forty years old in the entire country.”
