The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 364: Chapter 364: I Live Next to Little Taotie Chapter 364: Chapter 364: I Live Next to Little Taotie Completely ignored by the crowd, King of Film Xu and Cheng Lu felt incredibly awkward inside, but having battled through the entertainment industry, they managed to remain composed on the surface.

After greeting Little Taotie, Gu Yixing turned to acknowledge King of Film Xu and Cheng Lu.

King of Film Xu and Cheng Lu greeted him back smoothly, as if they hadn’t been snubbed just moments earlier.

The director was immensely relieved that the show was not being broadcast live.

All they needed to do was edit out the earlier footage where King of Film Xu and Cheng Lu were ignored, only keeping the current shots.

After all, they were top-tier celebrities; it wouldn’t do to leave an impression that they were being disrespectful to their seniors or acting like divas, as their fans would rail against the production team, and nobody could handle that.

“Since you’ve traveled from afar, you should pick a room first,” King of Film Xu joked.

Gu Yixing asked, “Which room is Little Taotie staying in?”

Little Taotie pointed at the door with a kitty sticker on it, “This is my room!”

Gu Yixing replied, “Then I’ll stay next to you.”

King of Film Xu laughed awkwardly, “I’m staying next to Little Taotie.”

Gu Yixing looked up and met King of Film Xu’s gaze, silently staring at him.

King of Film Xu: “…”

He cleared his throat, “As the guest who has come from afar, as your host, it’s only right for me to accommodate you. I’ll move my things out.”

Gu Yixing nodded and flashed a smile, “Thanks, Brother Xu.”

King of Film Xu: “I don’t want your thanks at all.”

The director wiped the sweat from his forehead, wanting nothing more than to create a comfy show, free of machinations and conflicts, where everyone could happily sit together around a table, chat, sing, dance, and just be merry!

Gu Yixing smoothly moved into the room next to Little Taotie’s.

In the afternoon, King of Film Xu and Cheng Lu were in charge of cooking to entertain the guest, while Little Taotie was tasked with keeping the guest company in conversation.

Playing the mini-host, Little Taotie introduced her Kitty to the guest.

Since the show was aiming for a light-hearted vibe, they agreed to let Little Taotie bring her pet.

The orange Kitty, a blend of Ragdoll and marmalade cat traits, had lovely eyes and a soft coat, was fond of eating and sleeping, not prone to making a fuss, well-behaved, and liked to be coddled.

“This is my Little Lion!” Little Taotie handed the Kitty to Gu Yixing.

Gu Yixing’s fans all knew that he didn’t like cats, finding them too delicate and aloof.

Usually, he would steer clear of them.

But this time, in a rare concession, Gu Yixing accepted the Kitty.

Little Lion opened its big eyes wide, pupils dilated in nervousness as it regarded the stranger, sensing the unfamiliar scent on him.

Gu Yixing looked at the Kitty in his arms and suddenly laughed softly to himself, thinking: No wonder everyone says that pets grow to resemble their owners over time.

Look at this little thing, wary, yet also curiously looking at me, much like my first encounter with Little Taotie.

Gu Yixing rubbed Little Lion’s head, and although the Kitty was initially on alert, it quickly became relaxed by the petting, flipped over revealing its belly, half-closed its eyes, and began to enjoy itself.

Gu Yixing thought: It really is similar! Just a little bit of kindness and this little guy exposes its belly without any defenses, so innocent and pure.

Little Taotie drew closer, gave Little Lion’s belly a rub, and giggled. Suddenly, Little Lion’s eyes widened in surprise, realizing the little master was teasing, and expressed its discontent with a couple of “meows,” its large eyes full of reproach as if to say: I was almost asleep! It’s your fault! Now I can’t sleep!

Little Taotie fetched a Cat Teaser Stick and waved it in front of Little Lion, who reached out its paws to catch it, totally awake now and playing enthusiastically.

Little Taotie handed the Cat Teaser Stick to Gu Yixing, “Brother Xingxing, why don’t you play with Little Lion for a bit too!”

With anyone else, Gu Yixing would have certainly refused, but how could he say no to anything Little Taotie asked of him?

Even Gu Yixing’s agent, sitting next to the director, was stunned; he had come to check on Gu Yixing in the off chance, as it was the first time Gu Yixing had attended a variety show since his debut.

Actually, the company disapproved, believing it best for a leading star like him to keep a distance from fans. Variety shows, however, were all about closing that distance, totally unsuitable for Gu Yixing’s career trajectory.

But as soon as he heard Little Taotie would be participating, he immediately agreed, defying all logic.
