The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Thrifty Grandpa Hua Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Thrifty Grandpa Hua Cheng Guodong, puzzled, looked at Little Taotie who was fiddling with her smartphone watch and asked, “Sister, is there something you don’t know how to use?”

Little Taotie shook her head, then nodded, “Why can’t it be like in the TV shows, where you can see the person you’re calling?”

“You mean video calling?”

Little Taotie nodded, half understanding.

Qin Xin leaned over for a look and shook his head, “The device that Grandpa Xu gave you is easy to operate, but it also lacks many features.”

Cheng Guodong hurriedly searched for a phone, and handed over one that he had prepared earlier, “When Old Master Xu gave you the watch last time, I had thought of buying you a phone already, but after buying it, I forgot to give it to you.”

Little Taotie took the phone, which was larger than her hand, and struggled to hold it, her tiny eyes becoming confused.

Qin Xin, as if seeing a stack of mosquito coils in his sister’s big eyes, couldn’t help laughing, “Come on, let your second brother show you how to use it!”

Little Taotie nodded and began to learn how to use her new phone.

…

On the day of the auction, there wasn’t a single empty seat in the venue, and Hua Jinyan reluctantly sat on Grandpa Hua’s lap, feeling that at seven years old, it was somewhat embarrassing.

Grandpa Hua had intentionally reserved only two seats because he thought it would be a rare opportunity to hold his grandson openly and proudly.

This grandson had always been aloof, unlike other children who frequently asked to be held or wanted to be carried when they were tired.

Grandma Hua, envious, looked at her husband and said, “He’s gotten quite heavy, hasn’t he? During the intermission, hand him over to me; I’ll hold him!”

Grandpa Hua chuckled, shaking his head, “Not heavy at all, my dear grandson isn’t heavy at all!”

Grandma Hua, feeling annoyed, pinched Grandpa Hua’s waist.

Grandpa Hua gasped and whispered, “Alright, alright, you can hold our grandson during the intermission, just let me go!”

Only then did Grandma Hua let go, satisfied, and resumed her noble, elegant demeanor.

Hua Jinyan: “…”

Well, better pretend as if he knew nothing.

The auction had already started, and the early items were jewelry suitable for high-class ladies. The well-to-do ladies present began to bid fiercely, each making several bids, but they were all outbid by Number Five in the first row.

Number Five had been silent, making no bids until others had almost finished competing, then added a whole number to the final offered price.

“Is that the Xu family?” Grandpa Hua asked.

Putting on her reading glasses, Grandma Hua looked over and saw an elegant lady with long eyeliner that hinted at ferocity.

Grandma Hua recalled, “I remember she is the fiancee of the eldest son from the Xu family’s homeland, a girl from the countryside; how has she changed so much? We even attended their wedding once; that young girl was so gentle…”

“Young Master Xu…” Grandpa Hua started to say something but, considering his grandson was there, he shook his head and stopped: “Anyway, he is not a man worthy of trust.”

“What a pity, she was such a good girl, and now… it seems she has changed a lot.”

“I hope she doesn’t go for the Rose Bracelet,” Grandpa Hua had a bad feeling that this woman, who had been struggling through days in a wealthy family, might enjoy the thrill of outbidding others at auctions and might end up going for the Rose Bracelet.

Grandma Hua snorted, “We are making a bid; wouldn’t she give us face? If she doesn’t, I am curious to see if the Xu family’s financial power can surpass the Hua family’s!”

Grandpa Hua: “…” Women, once they start competing, completely disregard whether the thing is worth the price or not, fighting just for the sake of it!

No, he couldn’t allow such meaningless losses!

The thrifty Grandpa Hua quietly sent a text message to Old Master Xu.

Then, the wife of the eldest son of the Xu family, sitting in the first row, received a phone call and promptly left.
