Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”Of course, you must leave immediately, go far away, and never return. How could our family get involved with someone like you?”

Harper Johnson’s eyes lit up; he didn’t expect things to be resolved so quickly.

This Avery Jane actually agreed to leave so easily, not even wanting money. That was the best outcome.

”I need to hear Mr. Hughes’s assurance that he will never use any means to threaten me again. Can he do that?”

If she didn’t hear Joshua Hughes’s promise personally, nothing anyone said mattered.

It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Joshua’s mother, but she was already terrified.

Besides, Nora Thompson’s plan was almost complete. She couldn’t act recklessly at this moment. She just needed to endure a bit longer and then she could vanish from this city.

”Avery Jane, you’re doing this on purpose, right? You’re just taking advantage of Evelyn’s condition to deliberately seduce Joshua, aren’t you? Are you saying this just to imply that Joshua won’t let you go? You’d better wisely pack your things and leave, or else when Evelyn marries Joshua, we won’t even let you have a place to stand.”

Harper Johnson stood up, charged towards Avery Jane, his eyes fierce like a man-eating beast.

Avery Jane sighed softly; with such people, there’s no reasoning with them.

She didn’t want to say more, turned around, and intended to head towards the elevator back upstairs.

How arrogant! Harper Johnson, seething with anger, fiercely yanked Avery Jane’s hair.

Avery Jane was startled; a searing pain shot through her scalp immediately. Harper Johnson wrapped her hair around his hand, forcefully dragging her over, ”You really need a proper lesson, you Fox Spirit. If you’re bold enough to be a mistress, you should always be ready for a beating. Let me tell you, I’ve decided to move in here already and Madam Hughes agreed. If you don’t leave, I’ll beat you, this little Fox Spirit, every day until you have no face to stay here.”

Harper felt emboldened, thinking Grace Roe was already on her side, so her actions became more reckless.

Her scalp was hurting so much it felt like soft, smooth strands of hair were being yanked out.

Grace Roe was startled, quickly trying to separate them. This Harper Johnson was really fierce.

What place is this that she could behave so outrageously?

But they couldn’t be separated. Even the housekeeper was at a loss. In all these years in the Hughes Family, he had never seen such a commotion.

Yet the issue was that Miss Jane was personally brought back by Master Joshua, saying that her words were as good as his. Obviously, she held a very important place in his heart.

Just this morning, Master Joshua also personally instructed that breakfast should be prepared with soy milk and fritters for Miss Jane. Over the years, Master Joshua had chosen several women, but none had received such attention from him.

Not a single one; she was the first.

If Miss Jane encountered any problems now, the housekeeper feared his own old bones would get broken.

A hand cruelly caught Avery Jane’s face; she couldn’t avoid it and Harper’s long nails scratched her, leaving fine scratches on her neck.

”Fox Spirit, I scratched your pretty face, let’s see how you seduce others’ men.”

Avery Jane tried to pull her hair out from Harper’s grasp, but his strength was immense; she was in so much pain tears were nearly choking her, her whole scalp felt like it was being torn apart.

”Madam Yates, let go.”

Grace wanted to step forward to separate them but was at a loss.

The housekeeper had already commanded several strong servants to rush forward. The male servants tightly grabbed Harper’s wrist, making him cry out in pain and release Avery Jane.

”What are you doing? She’s a Fox Spirit, coming here to seduce someone else’s husband. Our Evelyn is the legitimate one. Are all your eyes blind? When my son-in-law returns, I’ll have him dismiss you all.”

Harper, while massaging his wrist reddened by the servants, continued to curse.

With her hair all messed up, Avery Jane fearfully adjusted her hair. She knew Harper Johnson had never liked her.

But she didn’t know he hated her so much. However, in the Yates Family, she had always been respectful to him, and Wenyard Cooper had always been polite to him. How did things get to this point today?

”Hurry up and leave!”

Harper Johnson’s hostility was high, glaring at her with disdain.

His face, ravaged by time, already showed signs of paleness and aging, yet remained beautiful. Otherwise, how could he have been taken as a second wife in the Yates Family, and over the years, managed to secretly overpower the kind-hearted first wife?

Avery Jane looked at him, Harper smirked coldly.

”What part of you is better than our Evelyn? You’re holding on to Mr. Hughes as revenge against us, aren’t you? Is it because you’re jealous? You couldn’t have that fate, becoming a widow soon after marriage, and you can’t stand Evelyn being happy. If you dare to ruin Evelyn’s future, be careful, you won’t even know how you die!

”Mrs. Yates, let’s just talk peacefully!” Grace scolded lightly, her expression a bit awkward and unhappy.

”Because I was calm back then, that’s how I got my husband taken away from me! You know, I knew the master first, I was his since I was a teenager, but in the end, I ended up being a second wife. People can’t be too kind! Only wicked people can ride wicked horses!”

Harper arrogantly turned towards Avery Jane—”Be sensible, quickly pack your things and get out of here! Mrs. Hughes and I don’t want to bother with you further. Let the master give you a million or two to get by! You don’t even think about keeping Wenyard Cooper’s shares. The Yates Family’s company belongs to Caleb Cooper. If you hadn’t schemed to seduce men, maybe the Yates wouldn’t have done such a thing. But now, you’ve broken marital vows and are not fit to hold Wenyard Cooper’s shares. If you’re not sensible now, wait for the court’s summons! I won’t stop suing you until you die, and once Evelyn gives birth and becomes Madam Hughes, you’ll be unable to even get a meal!”

Avery Jane stared at the eloquent Harper Johnson, as if recognizing him for the first time.

She never knew words could be so hurtful.

She naturally understood that she had fallen to this state today and couldn’t face Wenyard Cooper even after death. Yet she wasn’t a shameless woman nor did she ever actively seduce men.

This wasn’t her fault at all, so how did all the blame fall upon her?

”Miss Jane, as you can see, you can’t coexist here. I think it’s best if you...”

:”Who let you in?”

The voice from the doorway was filled with terrifying anger, swiping over everyone like a whip. Joshua Hughes’s tall and strong figure appeared at the entrance of the hall, standing like a towering mountain, blocking all sunlight, leaving only an oppressive chill in the room.

”Joshua, you arrived just in time. Listen, Avery Jane admitted she’s only after money... ”

Harper put on a mother-in-law expression and eagerly approached.

With a loud ”smack”, Harper Johnson was caught off guard and knocked to the ground!

It was the first time Avery Jane saw him so cruel and furious.

He did not hesitate to hit a woman and showed no mercy!

He slapped the haughty woman, leaving Harper Johnson sitting dazed on the floor, like a deflated ball.

”Joshua, stop.” Witnessing the flicker of brutality and bloodlust in Joshua Hughes’s eyes, Grace shivered inside, not expecting her son to raise his hand and knock Harper Johnson down.

”All of you get out, and as for you, if any one from your family dares to step in here again, you’ll be out as well.”

Joshua Hughes said coldly. Despite his voice being low and magnetic, his words sent chills down everyone’s spine.

The light shone on his side profile, distant and cold, but as his gaze landed on the girl standing afar, it gradually softened.

Damn it, there were strands of long hair scattered on the ground.

She looked somewhat disheveled, her long hair undone, falling over her back, with slightly reddened eyes, resembling a helpless and bullied little rabbit.

He loved teasing her the most, pushing her to the point of tears, leaving her with no way out but to plead and depend on him.

But when he saw her being bullied by someone else, when he saw her red eyes now, he wanted to kill everyone who bullied her in rage, but that was too merciful for them.

They would realize what true suffering was after ten months; sometimes death isn’t scary but eternal torment is.

Ten months of anticipation would, in the end, turn into an illusion, and what would the Yates Family think then?

Bullied his woman, how could he let the Yates pass easily?

They’ll all face the harshest punishment...
