“After you join Bing Zhou Watch, you’ll get a monthly salary based on your military rank. What you’ll get aren’t Spirit Pills or Stones. Those are battle points!” Shui Yuan said slowly.

Lu Ye arched his brow upon hearing that.

Battle points were deathly attractive to cultivators in Jiu Zhou. That was because battle points could be directly traded for Amulets in the Vault of Providence. That was one of the ways cultivators could quickly increase their powers.

Moreover, battle points were distributed monthly. In other words, by joining Bing Zhou Watch, one would get battle points every month. For this reason alone, countless cultivators would scramble to join Bing Zhou Watch.

With such an incentive, Bing Zhou Watch didn’t have to actively recruit cultivators from the Sects. When the cultivators from the Sects and Families became powerful enough, they would take the initiative to become part of Bing Zhou Watch.

The situation in the Crimson Blood Sect was unique, though. Since Lu Ye didn’t even know Bing Zhou Watch existed, the idea had never crossed his mind.

“A monthly salary is just the base. If you carry out their tasks or kill enemies in battles, you’ll get more battle points.”

“That’s wonderful.”

“So, there are not only cultivators in the Cloud River Realm and above but also many Spirit Creek Realm Masters. Many cultivators will join Bing Zhou Watch when they’re in the Spirit Creek Realm to acquire battle points and get prepared for the future.”

Certainly, since Spirit Creek Realm Masters were weak, they could hardly protect themselves. As such, even if they joined Bing Zhou Watch, they wouldn’t be given dangerous tasks. Most of the time, they would stay in the same place to assist stronger cultivators to fend off the enemies. Also, they wouldn’t stay there for a long time. Once they acquired some battle points, they would return to the Spirit Creek Battlefield.

Carrying out tasks for Bing Zhou Watch was more dangerous than staying on the Spirit Creek Battlefield, but they could get significantly more battle points.

Lu Ye was thrilled as he listened to Shui Yuan. He wasn’t against the idea of joining Bing Zhou Watch anyway, and he was even more expectant now.

However, he also knew that once he joined Bing Zhou Watch, life would be much tougher than when he was on the Cloud River Battlefield.

So far, be it on the Spirit Creek Battlefield or the Cloud River Battlefield, the enemies he had come across were in the same Realm. But once he was part of Bing Zhou Watch, the enemies he would have to deal with would not be limited to cultivators in the same Realm. Real Lake Realm Masters and Divine Ocean Realm Masters from both sides would be at the frontline fighting each other.

“Do you have the confidence to make it to the Real Lake Realm in three days, Little Junior Brother?” Shui Yuan asked.

Lu Ye shook his head. “I’ve just ascended to the Ninth Order, so it’ll take some time before I can make it to the Real Lake Realm.”

He had enough Golden Amulets, but three days were not sufficient for him to achieve his goal.

“That’s a shame, then,” Shui Yuan replied.

If Lu Ye could make it to the Real Lake Realm before joining Bing Zhou Watch, he’d be able to better protect himself. Moreover, everyone had their own role in Bing Zhou Watch. A stronger cultivator could take on harder tasks, which would translate into a higher salary.

A Ninth-Order Cloud River Realm Master and a Real Lake Realm Master would receive different treatments there.

Fortunately, it wouldn’t take Lu Ye long to ascend to the Real Lake Realm.

“Second Senior Sister, I’d like to know how I can proceed to cultivate when I ascend to the Real Lake Realm. World Spiritual Qi in Jiu Zhou isn’t ample. It’s not even comparable to that of the Spirit Creek Battlefield. Wouldn’t it be inefficient to cultivate by absorbing World Spiritual Qi?”

He didn’t rely on World Spiritual Qi to cultivate his power. Nonetheless, if there was ample World Spiritual Qi, it would accelerate his progress.

How Real Lake Realm Masters and Divine Ocean Realm Masters in Jiu Zhou cultivated their powers was something Lu Ye had to figure out. He had intended to ask Shui Yuan about it after he made it to the Real Lake Realm. However, since he had received an order from Grand Sky City, he had to go there in three days. He wouldn’t have a chance to ask Shui Yuan about it by then.

Since there was a chance now, he naturally had to figure out everything. It so happened that Hua Ci and Ju Jia were there to listen to Shui Yuan as well.

“It costs a lot of resources to cultivate for cultivators in the Real Lake Realm and above…” Shui Yuan slowly told them what she knew.

The three of them listened attentively. Finally, they figured out how cultivators in the Real Lake Realm and above cultivated their powers.

Deep within, Lu Ye was shocked. He already knew that it would cost a lot of resources for cultivators in the Real Lake Realm and above to cultivate, but he had no idea how resources were consumed until he heard from Shui Yuan.

It was no wonder Shui Yuan had been stuck in the Real Lake Realm for quite a while in the past. Even though she was gifted, it was hard for her to achieve an ascension. It wasn’t until Lu Ye brought back tonnes of resources that she managed to make it to the Divine Ocean Realm. It was mainly because there was a lack of resources in the Crimson Blood Sect.

Before Lu Ye’s arrival, there were only Shui Yuan and the Sect Master in the Crimson Blood Sect. Even though they would get monthly salaries from their roles in Bing Zhou Watch, it still wasn’t enough to meet her need for resources.

In that case, Lu Ye had to get prepared before his departure.

Then, Shui Yuan told Lu Ye more about Bing Zhou Watch, and he listened intently. Her experience in Bing Zhou Watch might prove to be useful for Lu Ye in the future.

It wasn’t until darkness descended that the conversation ended.

Shui Yuan had told Lu Ye everything she knew. Like a bird, Lu Ye had to leave the nest and soar to greater heights. The Sect Master didn’t want Lu Ye to join Bing Zhou Watch too early for two reasons. Firstly, there weren’t many people in the Crimson Blood Sect at that time. Secondly, he was concerned about Lu Ye’s safety.

But as Lu Ye’s power increased, he eventually had to take the plunge. It was inevitable.

Hua Ci and Ju Jia returned to the Summit of Bamboos. On the other hand, Lu Ye and Shui Yuan headed to the treasure vault in the Crimson Blood Sect.

A moment later, he went to the Divine Opportunity Column and connected his soul to the Vault of Providence, where he sold many resources he had taken from the treasure vault. As a result, his Contribution points increased greatly.

It wasn’t until four hours later that he left the Sanctum of Providence and flew towards the Summit of Bamboos.

After entering his room, he sat down cross-legged. Amber and Yi Yi were not around. The former was with Ju Jia while the latter was with Hua Ci.

With a ten-point map in his hands, Lu Ye tried to look for the location of Grand Sky City.

It was a ten-point map which covered the entire Jiu Zhou that he had just purchased from the Vault of Providence. Although it was expensive, it was well worth the price. Since he was about to venture into other parts of Jiu Zhou, the map was essential.

According to the ten-point map, the entire Jiu Zhou was divided into nine major parts, which were the nine continents.

Qing Zhou, Wu Zhou, and Cang Zhou were presented in blue. Just like what Shui Yuan had said, they were controlled by the Grand Sky Coalition.

On the other hand, Yun Zhou, Lei Zhou, and You Zhou were red.

Tian Zhou, Bing Zhou, and Ding Zhou were in both red and blue, which signalled the clash between both sides.

Lu Ye took a brief look at the map. As he recalled Shui Yuan’s words, he had a better understanding of the current situation in Jiu Zhou.

He then looked at Bing Zhou’s map. Red and blue were separated by 12 Canyons in a row. They were like a mountain range that formed the defence line of the Grand Sky Coalition in Bing Zhou.

These were the 12 Canyons in Bing Zhou, and every Canyon was guarded by a lot of cultivators.

Behind the 12 Canyons stood a massive city, which was Grand Sky City.

This place was the headquarters of Bing Zhou Watch where decisions were made and orders were sent out. Zhao Che was a messenger from Grand Sky City.

There was an Elder Council within Grand Sky City. Pang Zhen from the Righteous Sect was the leader, and the other members were Divine Ocean Realm Masters from other major Sects.

Tang Yi Feng was also a member of the Elder Council. Supposedly, he had the right to live in Grand Sky City as he was one of the decision-makers. However, he had never bothered to take part in such affairs.

Because of the war decades ago, the reputation of the Crimson Blood Sect had plunged. Many Sects were resentful of the Crimson Blood Sect. Under such a circumstance, the Sect Master naturally wouldn’t go there to be mocked by others.

Over the years, even though he was a member of the Elder Council, he had never made any decisions. He would simply obey their orders. He kept such a low profile that most people had almost forgotten about him.

If not for Lu Ye joining the Sect that allowed the Sect Master to see the hope of the Crimson Blood Sect rising again, he would’ve continued to keep a low profile.

Now, his reputation had gone to the dogs. People of the major Sects in Bing Zhou would be scornful whenever his name was brought up.

Lu Ye had to go to Grand Sky City and report for duty in three days. After he joined Bing Zhou Watch, he would be assigned a role and sent to one of the Canyons.

He wasn’t the one making the decisions, so he could only obey their orders.

Nevertheless, someone in Grand Sky City had apparently set his eyes on him. As soon as the Cloud River Battlefield was closed, an order was sent to the Crimson Blood Sect. It went to show how efficient the person was.

Therefore, Lu Ye knew that once he joined Bing Zhou Watch, he would be given tough jobs.

It was pointless to think about it all the time. His most important task at hand was to increase his power. Although he didn’t have much time, he could still use a Golden Amulet.

He told Yi Yi and Amber to come back before he activated a Golden Amulet and started his cultivation session.

One day later, the effect of the Golden Amulet completely wore off. Lu Ye got to his feet and pushed the door open.

“Let’s set off,” he muttered and shot into the sky.

He didn’t need to bid anyone farewell, for they would meet again. It was only normal for cultivators to part ways and reunite.

On the Summit of Fortitude, Shui Yuan opened her eyes and looked in the direction Lu Ye had left before rising to her feet.

On the Summit of Clarity stood two figures. They were the Sect Master and Lady Yun.

“Have you found out who it is?” Lady Yun asked grimly.

Once they received the order, even Lu Ye knew that someone had targeted him. Naturally, Lady Yun could sense that as well.

Although she and the Sect Master had been working hard to repair the Dragon Throne as of late, they were not oblivious to the outside world. Since they were Divine Ocean Realm Masters, they could detect everything within a radius of 100 kilometres around them.

The Sect Master shook his head. “I only have a faint idea. Well, it must be one of those Sects.”

“Does it have anything to do with the Devoted Ones?”

“I don’t think so. Although they’ve severed ties with us, they won’t do such a thing.”

Lady Yun snorted. “I don’t care who the person is. If he dares harm my disciple, I’ll destroy him!”

“That person has done such a thing in accordance with the rules…”

“I don’t care about any rules. I only have one disciple. If anything happens to him, I won’t let the culprit live either!”
