Ying Wuji had just escaped from death’s door, and it was the same case for Lu Ye.

Presently, he remained in the same spot and watched the Divine Ocean Realm Masters leave with a solemn expression.

Just now, a powerful cultivator lent him a hand and got him out of a life-and-death situation. He subconsciously thought the person was from Thousand Demon Ridge.

It wasn’t until this moment that he realised the person who had saved his life was Nian Yuexian, who had been hiding in the dark, not someone from Thousand Demon Ridge.

It was easy to see why the Pass Leader was there. She must be attracted to the loud noise here.

After a conversation with Shui Yuan, Lu Ye knew that Nian Yuexian was a powerful Ghost Cultivator.

If a Ghost Cultivator like her wanted to conceal her presence, those from Thousand Demon Ridge wouldn’t be able to find her, but she had been exposed now.

Recalling what had just happened, Lu Ye instantly understood it was his fault.

Nian Yuexian must’ve identified him and decided to lend him a hand since he was in danger. Unfortunately, the Divine Ocean Realm Masters from Thousand Demon Ridge discovered her presence.

Lu Ye looked around and confirmed that everything was within control. The most powerful Fire Spirit Race member was badly wounded as he was now tangled up in a fight with Tan Yaoniang.

The other Fire Spirit Race members were injured as well. It was only a matter of time before those from Thousand Demon Ridge won the war.

The situation was chaotic as everyone was attracted to what was going on with the Divine Ocean Realm Masters. Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Lu Ye quickly activated a Glyph to conceal his presence and left the city.

Although Nian Yuexian was powerful, she might not be able to deal with three people on her own.

Lu Ye had to go there and take a look. Although the fight between Divine Ocean Realm Masters wasn’t something he could have a hand in, it was his fault that Nian Yuexian’s presence was exposed. As such, he couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

Usually, it wasn’t easy to enter or leave Lone Cloud City Pass. But now, the Grand Defensive Ward had been turned off, and it was chaotic in the city. No one would notice a Grand Sky Coalition cultivator sneaking out of the city.

Everything was going smoothly. It wasn’t until Lu Ye was far away from the boisterous battlefield that he dispelled his concealment. Then, the wings behind him spread as he turned into a fiery light and charged forward following the traces of the epic battle.

The traces showed that Nian Yuexian was heading towards Blue Flame Mountain Pass. There was a distance of 1,000 kilometres between the Passes, so even a Divine Ocean Realm Master like her would need quite some time to reach her destination.

Furthermore, there was no one else in Blue Flame Mountain Pass. Even if Nian Yuexian went back there, she wouldn’t find any helpers.

In such a situation, her best option would be fleeing to the nearest Grand Sky Coalition’s Pass. Only then could she ask for the help of Divine Ocean Realm Masters on her side.

As such, Lu Ye was puzzled as to why she didn’t do that. It was likely that she was not friends with her neighbours or that the enemies had gotten in the way, so she could only go back to Blue Flame Mountain Pass.

Soon, Lu Ye could feel violent fluctuations of Spiritual Powers coming from a spot that was several dozen kilometres away from him. The repercussions spread in all directions like ripples.

He felt his heart sinking, for what he was most worried about eventually happened.

Nian Yuexian didn’t manage to flee. As a Sword Cultivator, she was supposedly dexterous. There was no way she couldn’t flee.

Since her enemies had caught up to her, it showed that they had activated some Secret Technique.

As Lu Ye recalled Wan Zhanggang running after Nian Yuexian while being covered in a red light, he realised he had underestimated the man’s determination to end Nian Yuexian’s life. The red light around Wan Zhanggang must be a Secret Technique that could increase his speed.

Lu Ye had seen Ying Wuji activating a similar Secret Technique on Grand Wilds Peak back then, but the latter used it to run for his life.

With a heavy heart, he inched closer to the battlefield as he restricted his aura and concealed his presence. When he lifted his gaze, he saw four figures in an intense battle in the sky. A storm of swords flew around a figure, forming a Sword Ward. In the centre of the illusory swords was a proud Nian Yuexian.

The burly Wan Zhanggang and the two Ghost Cultivators kept charging forward, but they were repelled by the flying swords. All of these three Divine Ocean Realm Masters were soaked in blood. It was apparent that they had been injured by the flying swords.

Lu Ye couldn’t tell what kind of Sword Ward Nian Yuexian had set up, but the powerful Sword Ward must be energy-consuming. The blood streaming from the corner of her mouth showed that she was injured. The situation didn’t seem to be in her favour.

Presently, Nian Yuexian was trying to defend herself. It wasn’t easy for her opponents to break through the Sword Ward, but without the Sword Ward’s protection, she would be doomed as well.

In such a situation, her enemies only had to wear her out, and the Sword Ward would come apart sooner or later. That was when they would kill her.

[I have to come up with a solution.] Besides the fact that Nian Yuexian was his higher-up, she had also exposed her presence to save his life. Therefore, Lu Ye couldn’t bring himself to see her die.

Nian Yuexian was fully aware of what would happen if she made a move to save Lu Ye, but she still did it anyway.

The battle in the sky was violent. Hesitating no more, Lu Ye released Amber from Spirit Beast Bag and summoned Yi Yi. Following that, he pressed his hands against them.

As he activated his Spiritual Power, two identical Glyphs were built on their bodies.

In the crater of Blue Flame Mountain, Lu Ye had finally lit up the Glyph he had been eyeing for months. It turned out that it wasn’t the Void Glyph that he had been hoping to see. Instead, it was a rather useless Glyph, which was Pretend Intimidation.

The Glyph wasn’t useful, but with the help of its power, one could simulate an intimidating presence. The level of intimidation depended on how much Spiritual Power was infused into the Glyph.

The Glyph couldn’t help increase Lu Ye’s power, and it fell short of his expectations, so he found the Glyph rubbish at that time.

But in this situation, it wasn’t realistic to fight the enemies head-on. There was a huge gap between their powers. There was no way a First-Order Real Lake Realm Master like him could have a hand in the battle between Divine Ocean Realm Masters, and if he did interfere, he would be instantly killed.

Since he couldn’t defeat the enemies, he decided to find out if the Glyph was of any use.

He had never activated the Glyph before, so he had no idea what kind of effect it would have. Anyway, it wasn’t like there was something else he could do.

Following a brief explanation about what the Glyph was for, Amber and Yi Yi instantly understood his intention.

They had stayed together for a long time, so they understood each other fully well.

Amber immediately turned around and ran forward in a particular direction while Yi Yi snuck into the ground and followed the tiger.

They couldn’t activate Pretend Intimidation here. Given the short distance, the enemies could easily see through the disguise. Only when they were far away would the enemies be fooled, which ensured that the Glyph would be effective.

After Amber and Yi Yi were gone, Lu Ye continued to step forward.

Under normal circumstances, there was no way a Real Lake Realm Master like him could go near the Divine Ocean Realm Masters without getting noticed. He would’ve been exposed by now. However, the four of them were in a violent fight, so no one would scan their surroundings, which gave Lu Ye a chance.

Just then, someone was heard snarling in the sky, “I’ll destroy the Ward and the two of you will look for a chance to kill her!”

Wan Zhanggang had run out of patience.

He couldn’t be blamed for being irascible. Although he knew they could wear Nian Yuexian out and kill her, he was worried the woman might ask for help from a nearby Pass. When that happened, powerful cultivators from the Grand Sky Coalition would arrive pretty quickly.

He had paid a huge price and finally besieged the woman here. If he couldn’t kill her now, there might not be another chance in the future.

As such, someone had to break Nian Yuexian’s Sword Ward. He was a Body-tempering Cultivator and the leader of the team, so he naturally had to take on the task.

“Be careful,” said one of the Ghost Cultivators.

Wan Zhanggang growled and charged towards the Sword Ward while his vitality seemed to be burning.

The sounds of breaking through the air were continuously heard as the Sword Lights were icy and violent. Even a Body-tempering Cultivator in the Divine Ocean Realm like Wan Zhanggang could hardly bear the wrath of a Sword Cultivator.

As he repeatedly crashed into the Sword Ward, blood streamed out of his wounds. He gritted his teeth and persevered. Like a Sun, he crashed into the Sword Ward once again.

The Sword Ward was activated as the power cut across his skin, but as he inched closer, the originally organised Sword Lights turned into a mess.

Naturally, the two Ghost Cultivators wouldn’t miss the chance as they dashed forward from different directions.

An icy glint flashed across Nian Yuexian’s eyes while she hovered in the centre of the Sword Ward. Ignoring the two Ghost Cultivators, she retracted all of the Sword Lights and used all of her power to slash at Wan Zhanggang. It seemed that she was determined to go to Hell with the man.

Seeing how resolute the woman was, Wan Zhanggang felt his eyelids twitching.

One of the Ghost Cultivators couldn’t help but give up attacking Nian Yuexian and go to Wan Zhanggang’s side to help him ward off the attack.

All of a sudden, the dazzling Sword Light split into two.

“Damn it!” Wan Zhanggang exclaimed, finally realising the woman’s intention.

It was only a pretence that she seemed determined to go to Hell with him. Her goal was to destroy one of the Ghost Cultivators.

When the Sword Light dissipated, the four of them were equally battered.

Wan Zhanggang and the Ghost Cultivator beside him barely managed to ward off the attack. His already injured figure looked even more battered now, and the Ghost Cultivator beside him groaned in pain.

As for the other Ghost Cultivator, he was almost cut in half and killed. Although he managed to survive, he was soaked in sweat and badly wounded.

Nian Yuexian was able to injure three Divine Ocean Realm Masters on her own, which went to show how mighty she was. However, that was the best she could achieve.

After she cast the attack, all her clothes were soaked in blood. Like a kite after the string snapped, she fell from the sky, and her face was pale.

“Go to Hell!” Wan Zhanggang snarled. Despite his injury, he proceeded to pounce on Nian Yuexian. Before he even reached the woman, he pushed out his fist as his Spiritual Power and vitality formed a fist phantom.

Nian Yuexian had certainly detected danger, but she had no strength left to fend it off.

Just as his archnemesis for decades was about to be destroyed, Wan Zhanggang suddenly caught sight of a fiery figure that appeared out of nowhere.

The person carried Nian Yuexian in his arms and expanded the red wings behind his back before fleeing into the distance.

The attack missed the target, but the repercussions swept across the person like a storm, causing him to almost lose his balance.

Wan Zhanggang was so exasperated that he laughed because the guy who appeared out of nowhere was only a First-Order Real Lake Realm Master.
