When the Saber Light flickered the next moment, Lu Ye shattered the huge palm and emerged from it.

The scorching power was warded off by the Tree of Glyphs, but the impact had caused his purlicues to come apart. Blood streamed out of his mouth, and even the vitality in his chest was undulating.

Behind him, a pale Ying Wuji groaned in pain. He was astonished deep within. If Lu Ye hadn’t been in front of him to fend off the huge palm, he would’ve been killed.

After passing through the last barrier, they soon arrived at the stone staircase.

Upon entering the space, they instantly felt less pressured because they no longer had to worry about attacks coming from all directions.

However, many Fire Spirit Race members had already entered the passageway and were now climbing up. Upon detecting the auras of Lu Ye and Ying Wuji, they did their best to stop them.

With the saber in his hands, Lu Ye wielded it and charged forward. Wherever he went, Fire Spirit Race members would collapse to the ground.

If he occasionally missed his targets. Ying Wuji would deal with those enemies.

Suddenly, a deafening growl was heard coming from behind. The growl was filled with fury and resentment, and it was so impactful that Lu Ye and Ying Wuji felt their souls shaking, causing them to almost lose their balance.

At the same time, they felt as if some needles had been jabbed into their minds.

“Divine Ocean Realm!” Ying Wuji was flabbergasted. His perception wasn’t as sensitive as that of Lu Ye, and the situation was chaotic earlier, so he didn’t detect much.

Much to his surprise, the Fire Spirit Race members they had seen were only the tip of the iceberg. There were even stronger Fire Spirit Race members who were still trapped, and they were about to break free.

It wasn’t until this moment that Ying Wuji realised it. The pain in his mind showed that his soul had been attacked. The person who could cause such harm with only a growl was undoubtedly in the Divine Ocean Realm.

Following the growl, there was an even louder noise coming from behind.

While fending off the enemies, Ying Wuji turned his head and saw a horrifying sight. The lava surged and swept towards them while carrying a powerful air blast. Within the lava, a lot of Fire Spirit Race members could be seen floating.

“Lu… Brother Niu, let’s run!” Ying Wuji shouted.

If they were drowned in the lava, he had no idea if Lu Ye would die, but he was certain he would lose his life.

Despite having recognised Lu Ye’s identity, he didn’t dare call him by his name, for he was worried the latter would suddenly attack him. In his heart, he kept telling himself that this person was Niu Meng, not Lu Ye.

Although Lu Ye didn’t turn around to look, he knew that danger was looming from behind. He hastened his pace and fought his way through the crowd of Fire Spirit Race members.

After running forward for quite a while, he suddenly saw some light coming from above. That was where the exit to the stone platform was.

The next moment, he leapt out of the stairwell, followed by a battered Ying Wuji.

They looked around and saw that there were already many Fire Spirit Race members inside the crater. These Fire Spirit Race members had left the underground city earlier.

The people Ying Wuji had left behind here were nowhere in sight. It wasn’t certain if they were dead or alive.

Without any delay, the two of them shot into the sky and left the crater. Then, they turned around and saw a sight they would never forget about.

Lava spurted out of the crater like a column. The air blast swept across the place, causing the Void to contort. The ground was shaking, and the crater was coming apart.

As the lava spurted out of the crater, many Fire Spirit Race members also emerged. All of them were growling as though they were trying to vent out their fury for having been confined for so long. The resentment and bitterness in their voices caused the weather to change.

When these Fire Spirit Race members saw light again, they couldn’t help but vent their wrath. Then, they suddenly turned around and glowered at Lu Ye and Ying Wuji.

Although many years had passed, they still vividly remembered that it was Humans who confined them to the underground cave. Given such a blood feud, they naturally wouldn’t let them off.

Ying Wuji felt a crawling sensation on his scalp as he hurriedly flew towards Lone Cloud City Pass.

When he was ambushed in the underground cave earlier, he had sent a message to the Pass to ask for help. He reckoned that they were probably on their way to rescue them.

However, he didn’t know how dire the situation was at that time. Things had changed now, so the reinforcements sent from the Pass might not be enough. If they wanted to solve the apocalypse, they had to make use of everyone’s power at Lone Cloud City Pass.

It was an apocalypse, not a crisis. If the matter wasn’t handled properly, the entire Lone Cloud City Pass would fall into danger.

As the thought turned over in his mind, he caught sight of a figure beside him. He turned his head and saw Lu Ye flying alongside him while wearing a face mask.

“You…” Ying Wuji was puzzled.

[I’m a cultivator of Thousand Demon Ridge, so it’s only natural for me to head to Lone Cloud City Pass when I’m in danger. Why are you, a cultivator of the Grand Sky Coalition, tagging along? Aren’t you afraid of death?]

Soon enough, he realised Lu Ye’s intention. If Lu Ye flew towards Blue Flame Mountain Pass, he would bring the crisis with him as well.

These Fire Spirit Race members, whose voices were filled with indignation, were unlike the cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge, who wouldn’t dare make a rash move because they were intimidated by the legendary woman.

If the Fire Spirit Race members were lured to Blue Flame Mountain Pass, the woman might not be able to deal with the crisis on her own regardless of how powerful she was. If the defence line was broken through, the Managers of Bing Zhou Watch would hold Lu Ye accountable.

As such, he could never run back to Blue Flame Mountain Pass. In that case, he could only head to Lone Cloud City Pass.

[But you’re from the Grand Sky Coalition!] Ying Wuji was flustered. Even though he had no idea how Lu Ye managed to show him the Battlefield Imprint of Thousand Demon Ridge, he had a feeling that Lu Ye couldn’t do that for the second time. Once he arrived at Lone Cloud City Pass, his identity might be exposed.

As a notorious person from the Crimson Blood Sect, Lu Ye wouldn’t even see the Moonlight the same night once his identity was exposed.

Moreover, Ying Wuji was aware of his identity. As a cultivator from Thousand Demon Ridge, how could he hide anything from his own people?

Although he had been pondering on the relationship between the two sides, he hadn’t gotten a definitive answer. As a member of Bing Zhou Watch on Thousand Demon Ridge’s side, he naturally wouldn’t do anything that might harm his people.

[Is this guy trying to…] Ying Wuji was suddenly flustered. A great sense of danger overwhelmed him as he had a feeling that the other party wanted to kill him.

He turned his head and happened to meet eyes with Lu Ye. Following a gasp, he felt that this guy was going to destroy him.

So far, he was the only person who knew his identity and secret. Once he was killed, no one would expose him.

He had just fled the tiger’s den, but now, he had fallen into another dangerous situation. He lamented that his life was full of hardship. Faced with imminent death, he suddenly figured out what to do. So, he hurriedly said, “May the Heavens be the witness. I will never tell anyone in any way the secrets I know about you. If I go back on my word, I’ll die a horrible death!”

Behind the face mask, Lu Ye’s gaze instantly turned milder. He was about to force Ying Wuji to make a Heavenly Oath. Much to his surprise, the other party had done that before he even said anything.

“You’re pretty tactful.” Lu Ye relaxed his grip on the hilt of the Inviolable Saber.

Ying Wuji was so exhausted that he almost passed out.

“Pass the items to me,” Lu Ye demanded.

“What do you mean?” Ying Wuji was suddenly anxious again as he had no idea what Lu Ye was talking about.

“The things all of you collected in the underground cave.”

Upon hearing that, Ying Wuji was rendered speechless.

He finally understood why Lu Ye wanted everyone to pass the Fire Spirit Stones to him. His excuse was that it would be easier to count the rewards and share them with everyone. Now, it seemed that it would only make it easier for him to rob Ying Wuji of the items.

[He already planned on doing this at that time!]

“Where’s your conscience?” Ying Wuji was furious.

Lu Ye stared stubbornly at him. Although he and Yi Yi had gotten a lot of things in the underground cave, he could never get enough of Fire Spirit Stones. He believed Ying Wuji and the others had gotten a lot of the items.

“Take them! They’re yours now!” A vexed Ying Wuji tossed a Storage Bag at him. It contained the Fire Spirit Stones they had strenuously collected. Then, he snapped. “Your greed will backfire one day!”

After giving it some thought, he felt it was fortunate that he had taken all the Fire Spirit Stones. The Cloud River Realm Masters who had followed him into the underground cave had all been killed amidst the chaos, and even their Storage Bags were lost. If he hadn’t taken all the Fire Spirit Stones, all their effort would’ve gone to waste.

Still, he was curious about one thing. “Your Battlefield Imprint…”

Lu Ye replied impassively, “Do you want to know the secret to living a longer life?”

Ying Wuji immediately kept his mouth shut.

Then, he turned his head and was shocked to see the current of fiery lights behind him. They emerged from the crater and seemingly covered the entire sky as they imposingly ran after the two of them.

The number of Fire Spirit Race members was larger than they had previously thought. The ones they saw now had emerged from the underground cave, and there must be even more of them in the depths of the lava.

Fortunately, Ying Wuji and Lu Ye were in the Real Lake Realm now, so they could fly much faster than when they were in the Cloud River Realm. Otherwise, they couldn’t have fled from the Fire Spirit Race members’ pursuit.

They madly charged forward while their enemies relentlessly ran after them.

“Inform those from Lone Cloud City Pass to prepare for the war,” Lu Ye ordered.

“I’ve already informed them.” There wasn’t a need for Lu Ye to tell him what to do. Ying Wuji had sent a message to the Pass while running for his life. He hoped that the Divine Ocean Realm Masters in the Pass would take the matter seriously. Otherwise, their Pass would be in danger.

Initially, a team of people had departed from Lone Cloud City Pass to help them, but they had returned now. That was because the number of reinforcements would be of no help to the situation.

Around four hours later, a splendid Pass came into sight. They had arrived at Lone Cloud City Pass.

The city wasn’t expansive. It was much smaller than the one found in the Fire Spirit Race’s underground cave. It wasn’t that those from Thousand Demon Ridge were ungenerous. It was just that the scale of the city was apt for defence.

It was the same case for all other Passes. Only when all cultivators stayed closely together would the defence line be impenetrable.

Although the city was small, the wall was 300 metres high. Presently, many people stood on the wall and looked into the distance. When they saw the current of fiery lights behind Lu Ye and Ying Wuji, they were astonished.
