Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Fighting through the battlefield without holding anything back in the process, Chu Yang soon enough found himself catching the attention of a more powerful Soul Ascension Realm cultivators at the Fourth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm and although he could be considered stronger than someone at the First Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm and even had the ability to overcome someone who had gone through the second tribulation if he went all out, there was no way for him to win against someone at the Fourth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm.

Because of this, as soon as he was targeted by this powerful Soul Ascension Realm cultivator, he didn’t even bother to try and fight the other party and instead focused his full strength on escaping.

Although he had already been doing this beforehand, he ended up getting a bit caught up in fighting the Soul Ascension Realm cultivators who came after him. After all, fighting with his life on the line did show clear improvements to his comprehension of the Dao of the Spear and Dao of Blood, something he wanted to take advantage of to further improve his own strength faster.

However, with a Soul Ascension Realm cultivator who had passed through the fourth tribulation now targeting him, he couldn’t continue indulging in the fighting and had to focus all his strength on running away, something that inevitably garnered attention from other Soul Ascension Realm cultivators on the battlefield, as running away was a clear indication that he was either in a weakened state or being chased by someone powerful.

Considering how he was already covered in his own blood along with his robes being torn to shreds from earlier fights, it wasn’t entirely wrong to say he perfectly fit the image of someone about to perish from their injuries… And together with the Fourth Tribulation Realm Soul Ascension Realm cultivator chasing after him from behind, it immediately caused a several other Soul Ascension Realm cultivators along with a few Domain Lord Realm cultivators to join the chase. All of them wanting to take the opportunity to try a seize his interspatial ring after he died.

After all, it was clear that he was one of the ’lucky’ survivors who had escaped from the core of the battlefield. Meaning that… There wouldn’t be anyone stepping in to lend him a hand.

As for what the opposing side were up to with a portion of their opponents occupied chasing Chu Yang down? They chose to chase down another ’lucky’ survivor who had escaped from the core of the battlefield.

The main difference between Chu Yang and this second survivor being that the other was far stronger than Chu Yang. Reaching the Fifth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm. Putting up a far greater resistance than Chu Yang who could only focus on running away. The resistance in question originating not from the cultivator’s strength, but instead a protective artifact that allowed him to resist even as a Dao Seed Realm cultivator was ultimately drawn into the chase.

On the negative side of things, this did free up a Dao Seed Realm cultivator from the side who was targeting him, while on the positive side, that Dao Seed Realm cultivators chose not to target him first but instead focused on another stronger Soul Ascension Realm cultivator who had been close to officially stepping outside the boundaries of the battlefield.

Boom!

Watching from afar as this unfortunate Soul Ascension Realm cultivator gave it his all in resisting the Dao Seed Realm cultivator, even pulling out a mystical talisman that created a last-minute defensive barrier to stop an instant kill from taking place, Chu Yang understood it wouldn’t last for long and he himself would be the next to face the Dao Seed Realm cultivator after this selfless new friend of his fell.

Whoosh~!!

So, he decided to partly ignore some of the attacks from the Soul Ascension Realm cultivators who were chasing after him to ensure that his speed wouldn’t end up being slowed down.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Although this did end up with him being seriously injured, his comprehension of the Dao of Blood got an opportunity to shine at this moment, as it helped suppress the injuries and aid him in recovering faster. Allowing him to momentarily ignore the injuries he suffered.

In a sense, the need to use the Dao of Blood to suppress his injuries was rather beneficial to his comprehension of the Dao of Blood itself. Allowing his understanding of the Dao of Blood to deepen even as his injuries worsened with each passing second.

Of course, he wouldn’t be able to keep up for long even if the Dao of Blood could suppress his injuries for a bit, but it ended up being more than enough for him, as he soon managed to successfully reach the edge of the battlefield before the Dao Seed Realm cultivator managed to break through the barrier created by the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator he had ended up targeting.

Rumble~!

However, just as he thought he had managed to get to safety, a loud rumbling sound echoed out from the direction of the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator besieged by the Dao Seed Realm cultivator.

”That… What in the world…” Turning to look in the direction of this Soul Ascension Realm cultivator whose mystical barrier was about to break, Chu Yang couldn’t help feeling a shiver run down his spine as he muttered a few words in disbelief.

The reason being that the Dao Seed Realm cultivator, who had been about to break through the protective barrier created by the mystical talisman thrown out by the Soul Ascension Realm in a similar situation as himself, had been killed.

Not because another Dao Seed Realm cultivator had ambushed him, but instead because the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator had thrown out some kind of terrifying talisman that unleashed a terrifying attack no weaker than the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators fighting at the center of the battlefield. Instantly killing off the Dao Seed Realm cultivator who had no way to resist this kind of terrifying attack.

RUUUMBLE-!

Unsurprisingly, because of this, the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators who had been fighting with each other at the center of the battlefield instantly came to a halt as they sensed the terrifying attack that had just been launched before they came rushing over.

Not just them, but the entire battlefield seemed to have come to a standstill with the eruption of a third Celestial Immortal Realm level power.

It wasn’t wrong to say that everyone’s attention was focused on the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator that he had just been thankful towards seconds earlier for taking the attention of the Dao Seed Realm cultivator away from him.

”…”

This idiot!

Feeling like crying on the inside as he felt the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators rushing over, Chu Yang understood full well that there was no way for him to avoid being caught up in the clash that was about to happen… And so, along with everyone else in the area, he scrambled to get as far away as possible to avoid being killed off when one of the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators attacked.

At the very least, with this sudden development, he no longer had any Soul Ascension Realm cultivators chasing after him, as they were similarly scrambling to get out of the way.

RUUUUMBLE-!

But, just as Chu Yang started to brace himself for the two approaching Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators to launch an attack in his general direction where his good ’friend’ was located, a terrifying presence erupted from this ’friend’, as he turned just in time to see a mystical talisman being reduced to ash before erupting with boundless, brilliant lightning that caused the very earth to crack apart from its presence alone.

RUUUMBLE- BOOOOOM-!

Before he even had time to comprehend what was happening, the terrifying lightning had already torn through the air and hit the two approaching Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators-

”AAAAH-!? SAINT GRADE THUNDER TALISMAN!?

”NOOO-!”

And along with two loud screams filled with surprise and horror, he saw the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators who had been rushing over filled with confidence, being knocked flying into the distance.

Although neither of them had ended up dying, it was clear that both had been heavily injured by the lightning just now.

”””…”””

As a result, a heavy silence soon descended upon the battlefield as countless eyes turned towards the lone Soul Ascension Realm cultivator filled with both shock and fear. Nobody having expected things to turn out the way they had.

As for Chu Yang…

Swish~

He decided to use the opportunity while everyone was busy looking in a certain direction filled with shock, awe and fear to silently slip away from the battlefield before the situation became even more chaotic than it already had become. After all, he could clearly feel that while the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators had been injured, they had not given up and were rapidly rushing back to the battlefield and he wanted to get out before they returned…
