Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

As his divine sense left the thin barrier that protected him from the endless void outside, Xuan Hao was soon left with a profound feeling of shock as he felt a terrifying wave of spatial energy, unseen to the naked eye, sweeping past his divine sense. Destroying it before he could withdraw it.

If not for him already having been prepared for something like that to happen when he extended part of his divine sense outside the boundaries of the small floating island, it would undoubtedly have caused some serious injuries. Luckily, because he had already been prepared, he only ended up losing a bit of strength that was quickly recovered. At the same time, he also became aware of just how dangerous the seemingly empty void outside his small island was.

But… Outside of just being dangerous, the profound spatial laws that flowed through the empty void were immensely beneficial to his comprehension of the Dao of Space. Even just sensing them for a short instant had allowed his understanding of the Dao of Space to improve visibly.

”Indeed, worthy of being an enlightenment space. If just those spatial waves weren’t present, I would be able to freely extend my divine sense outside…” Muttering this to himself with his eyes still closed as he sensed the clear improvements from sensing the spatial laws outside the small island , Xuan Hao could not help feeling that it was a bit of a pity that the environment wasn’t safe for him to freely extend his divine sense to fully embrace the profound spatial laws of the void.

Well… Not entirely so, as he would still feel worried about the thing or creature that was behind the feeling of dread he had felt before he had closed his eyes…

[Dao of Space, Enlightenment Space: 23 hours, 26 minutes]

Shaking his head as he felt his thoughts starting to wander, Xuan Hao glanced towards the countdown for the time he had left inside the enlightenment space and reminded himself of his primary goal of finding a way to return to normal again. Only after his comprehension of the Dao of Space had reached a level where he could do that would he allow himself to investigate the enlightenment space in more depth.

Whoosh~

Along with these thoughts, his divine sense slowly extended beyond the thin barrier once again before ultimately lingering around the edge of the barrier. Ready to retreat inside the second another spatial wave appeared or something unusual happened. Allowing him to safely sense the spatial laws of the void outside.

Although there were flaws to this method, as what he could sense was still limited to some extent, it was more than enough for him with his current strength as the principles of the Dao of Space present in the empty void far exceed his own comprehension of the Dao of Space. Even a small fraction of the profound spatial laws flowing through the empty void was more than enough for him to try and understand during the few hours he had.

…

At the same time Xuan Hao found himself fully absorbed in comprehending the Dao of Space, one of his disciples currently away from the sect, found himself in a rather troublesome situation as one of the battles he had ended up participating in as extra manpower became far more deadly than he had first anticipated.

From a smaller scale battle between two smaller kingdoms each with a Dao Seed Realm cultivator behind them, the battle soon showed Chu Yang just how unpredictable the Eastern Central Region was, as the battle escalated to not just involve over thirty Dao Seed Realm cultivators, but also two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators.

Even with his strength having broken through to the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm and his strength having grown to a level where he was confident in fighting equally with most Soul Ascension Realm cultivators who had passed through the second tribulation and even go head to head with someone in the Third Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm, he was still far away from being capable of contending with someone in the Later Stages of the Soul Ascension Realm, let alone someone in the Dao Seed Realm or worse, the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Given normal circumstances, he would have just retreated from the battle the second it began to reach a level where he would no longer be able to keep himself safe… And that was just what he attempted to do when he had first sensed something unusual taking place.

Unfortunately, he had been far too slow to react, as by the time he began retreating, two massive armies had already shown up to encircle the battlefield he found himself in the middle of before they began violently clashing with each other.

A single glance was more than enough for one to realize that this battle between these two major powers had long since been planned beforehand, as they had both arrived at the same time with their full strength. None of them wasted any time before flying out to clash with each other.

Chu Yang had no idea which major powers the two massive armies belonged to, nor did he have any clue why they had decided to fight it out like this, he only knew that he was now trapped in the middle of this massive clash.

Escaping wasn’t impossible in this kind of environment, it was just extremely dangerous, something that had been personally demonstrated by another mercenary like himself who had attempted to escape the second the two massive armies appeared. Only to get killed off by one of the Dao Seed Realm cultivators who should have been on their side. Making it clear that they didn’t appreciate deserters and wanted them to stay and fight.

With the difference in strength and the escape blocked off by powerful cultivators in the Dao Seed Realm, Chu Yang and the rest of the mercenaries could only give up on trying to run away and focus back at the battle on hand. None of them daring to try another escape attempt with a Dao Seed Realm cultivator around to keep an eye on them.

Looks like I will have to wait for the Dao Seed Realm cultivator to become busy before I can escape from this battlefield…

Narrowing both his eyes as he thought about this to himself, Chu Yang casually dealt with a few Domain Lord Realm cultivators with his spear. Not outright killing them but instead putting on the facade of a desperate battle with everything on the line to avoid drawing any unwanted attention from the Dao Seed Realm cultivator keeping an eye on the original small battlefield that had by now expanded in size several times over following the recent arrival of the two major powers and their armies.

Normally, this kind of thing would have been a difficult act to put on given how close he was in strength to his opponents, but his opponents at the Soul Ascension Realm also happened to be mercenaries who wanted to leave this kind of terrifying battlefield.

”I will be attacking from the left and the other two will go in from the right, be careful brother.”

”No worries, I’m ready, I will allow you to get a hit in on my left leg to make it a bit more convincing. In return, I will also stab your right arm.”

”Haha, of course, I will ensure my blood coats your spear!”

In the end, this caused a mutual understanding to form between all of them, as they began chatting with each other through their divine sense about the ’desperate struggle’ that all of them were putting on. Ensuring that none of them would face any real danger from the Dao Seed Realm cultivators watching over their side of the battlefield.

Their overall plan boiling down to waiting for the battle to escalate further to involve the Dao Seed Realm cultivators watching over them, as that would present a chance for them to slip away from the battle.

Even if it would still be dangerous to move around given their current position in the middle of the battlefield involving not just Dao Seed Realm cultivators but also two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators, it was still far safer than staying around and waiting for the battle to play out.

After all, they were at the core of the battlefield itself and the battle between the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators would inevitably move to their current location. At which point they and the rest of the people stuck fighting at the core of the battlefield would end up getting caught in the middle of a clash between two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators, a certain death for all of them… Something that everyone present began to realize as the presence of the two Celestial Immortal Realm moved closer, their world shaking power devasting wherever they passed through without any regard for the people in their path.
