Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Examining the branch sect with his divine sense, Xuan Hao picked up the hurried figure of the Elder Chu, who had gone off to get the information she and the other elders of the sect had gathered on potential spies hidden throughout the branch sect, while at the same time also seeing the increasing panic from the other branch sect elders as they learnt about his presence. None of them having expected someone like himself to be the one to show up to help with their current predicament. After all, his current identity inside the sect could be considered rather mysterious and almost sacred for most of the sect elders not originally from the Flying Sword Sect.

The reason for this being his terrifying strength and role as the main guardian of the sect, something that had only been strengthened after Elder Song had changed his identity from that of an elder to an ancestor.

Although… Even with the change in his status inside the sect, the elders still mostly referred to him as Elder Xuan instead of Ancestor Xuan, something that he himself was rather grateful for, as he wouldn’t know how to react if some thousand-year-old elder was knelling in front of him calling him ancestor.

Even if his own age was slowly creeping closer to a hundred years with each passing year, he did not feel old in the slightest and still retained his appearance from when he had broken through to the Nascent Soul Realm. This could be considered normal, as most cultivators above the Nascent Soul Realm were able to change their appearance to some extent. Appearing young or old. Only when one approached the end of their life would they be unable to change their appearance freely and slowly start aging like a normal mortal, though there was a long time before he had to worry about something like that… And hopefully, he would never have to worry about it ever.

Chuckling a bit to himself as he thought about this, Xuan Hao turned his attention away from the panicking elders of the branch sect and instead focused his attention on the countless new disciples that were roaming around the sect filled with both excitement and nervousness at their new life as a disciple of the Star Shattering Sect.

Considering that the branch sect could be considered one of the largest among the Star Shattering Sect’s branch sects, it also held a considerable number of disciples, with around 1000 disciples in total, more than 800 of them being new disciples that had only recently joined the sect following the most recent large-scale disciple recruitment.

Sweeping over these disciples with his divine sense, Xuan Hao quickly looked through all of them to see if there were any talented among them that had managed to escape the notice of the sect elders who had already looked through them during the recruitment process.

”Hm? This is… Three with a talent above 30 and one with a talent at 49…”

And in the end, he did end up finding a few talented ones hidden among the new disciples that had managed to escape notice. One of them even showing a terrifying talent of 49, something that would be more than enough for him to take in as a disciple. Even the three above 30 in talent could barely be considered to be qualified for him to take in.

The only problem was how all four of these disciples had managed to avoid being noticed by the elders of the sect earlier on.

Missing one was understandable, two… Maybe, but four? Xuan Hao felt that it was unlikely for the elders of the sect to miss that many talented disciples. Unless they were deliberately trying to hide.

Narrowing his eyes as he thought about this, Xuan Hao’s divine sense focused in on the four talented disciples. Instantly examining the four of them from head to toe. Using the system’s ability to inspect them and gain as much extra information as possible.

”First, Ling Yi, 15 years old… Human… Talent 31 and Comprehension… 3? Cultivation, Third Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm. Understandable that he wasn’t noticed with that kind of comprehension.

Next up, Lang Yun, 10 years old… Human… Talent 33 and comprehension of 21, while cultivation is the Second Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm. Hm… Talent and age wise, he should have been noticed and taken in by the elders of the sect…”

Frowning slightly as he examined the second talented person, a young boy that could easily be mistaken for a girl, Lang Yun, he found it odd that such a person had not been recruited by one of the sect elders to join the main sect already.

After all, different from the first that was already considered rather old and had a clear lack when it came to his comprehension, there were no faults with Lang Yun, and he should have been noticed during the recruitment of disciples earlier on.

However, as he examined the young boy, he couldn’t find any obvious mistakes and he seemed no different from the other excited new disciples on the surface.

”Will keep an eye that one, next up, Unnamed? What kind of name is that…” Moving to the next talented person, a young girl around 9 years old, Xuan Hao could not help showing a confused expression on his face as the name showed up as unnamed. Meaning that the girl didn’t have a name.

However, as he began examining the young girl more closely and listened to her somewhat awkward conversation with one of the elders, he quickly realized why, as it turned out she was an orphan that came from a small city next to the branch sect and had been lucky enough to join the sect during the large-scale recruitment.

Speaking of, she was the one with a talent of 49, while her comprehension had reached a staggering 79. Even if her cultivation was nonexistent at the moment due to her lack of opportunity to cultivate in the past, he was more than eager to take on such a talented young girl as his disciple.

Unfortunately, it seemed like he had been too late, as the elder that the young girl had been talking to had already bonded with the young girl and even named her before taking her in as her disciple. Fostering a beautiful master disciple bond, as the young girl, now named Lily cried tears of happiness in the embrace of her new master, a young Nascent Soul Realm cultivator who happened to be one of the Nascent Soul Realm disciples that had been promoted by Elder Song ahead of time.

If not for the fact that he had happened to listen in on their conversation from the side, he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to learn about her background. Not to mention, he wasn’t too upset about losing out on this potential disciple, as she would ultimately still become a part of the Star Shattering Sect and would likely be assisting in completing his sect quest in the near future…

Smiling a bit wryly to himself as he thought about this, Xuan Hao turned his attention towards the last of the four talented disciples that had been missed, an older boy or rather young man around 17.

Considering his age, it was a bit surprising that he had been accepted into, as his cultivation was only at the Second Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm. Far below the standards of not just the main sect of the Star Shattering Sect, but even the worst branch sects.

”How did someone like this get accepted into the sect…?” Muttering this to himself as he looked over the young man, Xuan Hao began using the system to inspect him more in depth.

”Jiang Chen… Talent… 37… Comprehension- Huh? 312!? What in the world- And what is this? Reincarnation of a Great Power? What the f-”

Not able to stop himself from cursing under his breath in the language from his past life as he saw the status of the fourth talented disciple that had been missed by the sect… And to say he was an understatement. This was the first time he had encountered something like a reincarnated individual. Not to mention the fact that this was the reincarnation of a great power, a concept that he had no idea what meant.

The only thing he knew for certain was that this great power was undoubtedly referring to someone belonging to a cultivation far above what he knew of at the moment, likely exceeding the Profound Immortal Realm.

After all, the concept of being able to reincarnate after death was not something he had even come close and should belong to a realm far beyond what he knew about.

Because of this, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a bit fearful faced with this reincarnation of a Great Power. After all, he had no idea what kind of powers an existence at that level was capable of.

The fact that they had the ability to reincarnate was more than enough to speak of how powerful someone at that level was.

Even if the other party was only in the Second Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm, Xuan Hao didn’t doubt that the other party should have put several safety measures in place to ensure his own safety after reincarnation.

For this reason, not to mention taking the other party on as a disciple, Xuan Hao felt that it might be for the best to avoid the other party and prevent any potential damage to the Star Shattering Sect from falling out with such an existence.
