Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Giving up on even trying to get into a Core Elder position after the sudden realization that the Star Shattering Sect now had so many new people far stronger than him, Peng Yun wasted no time as he directly made his way to the alchemy hall. Intending to secure his position as an important elder of the alchemy hall before a group of wild alchemists suddenly appeared and joined the sect.

Although he understood that the chance of something like that happening was close to zero considering that there weren’t many alchemists out there not already associated with a major power or another weaker power, he didn’t really think too much about it and just operated off making sure that his position in the sect wouldn’t end up threatened by newcomers in the future. Even then… With his unique talent for alchemy, there was no real need for him to worry about something like that even if a group of wild alchemists appeared out of nowhere and joined the sect.

Not that anyone would step in to remind him of this, as it was beneficial for the sect to have someone fully dedicate themselves to improving the alchemy hall. Especially someone as skilled as Peng Yun, who could be ranked among the best alchemists in the sect.

Not just because of the learning opportunities for the sect’s younger generation, but also because of the large quantity of potions and pills that would be produced during his training to improve his alchemy.

After all, with the spiritual herbs for the alchemy hall being provided by the sect, it was also given that the sect would be taking the finished product.

Of course, not entirely for free, the alchemists would still get some contribution points, though far lower than if they were using their own spiritual herbs for the potions and pills.

Not that the alchemists from the sect cared that much about this, as the sect was essentially providing them with a limitless supply of spiritual herbs to practice their alchemy with, something that made them more than willing to hand over the finished potions or pills they ended up making with said spiritual herbs. Especially so considering that the sect wouldn’t hold them accountable for failed potions or pills.

Well… Not always, as there was a limit to how much someone could fail before the sect cut off the supply of spiritual herbs and forced the alchemy disciple or elder to start using their own contribution points to exchange for the spiritual herbs they needed.

Generally, this limit was higher or lower depending on how far the elder or disciple had progressed as an alchemist. At the same time also limiting the quality of spiritual herbs that could be exchanged by the disciples and elders so that someone who just started out learning alchemy couldn’t just exchange for a Soul Grade Spiritual Herb.

If not for that, even with the currently massive supply of spiritual herbs generated through the Ninth Star Peak and other spiritual herb fields across the sect’s territory, it wouldn’t have taken long for the sect to run out of spiritual herbs. Especially higher quality spiritual herbs.

”Hopefully, I will be able to breakthrough to the Master Realm and become a Master Alchemist…” As he thought about the general framework of the alchemy hall, Peng Yun could not help muttering this to himself as he stepped inside the alchemy hall.

Even if this was not his first time inside of the newly constructed alchemy hall, he still couldn’t help feeling a bit nervous when thinking about how he was planning to dedicate his time towards becoming an important elder of this place in the future.

At the same time, he also took the opportunity to observe the elders and disciples wandering around the alchemy hall.

From the weakest disciples that had only recently joined the sect and were still in the Qi Condensation Realm, curiously learning about the art of alchemy for the first time to a group of seasoned elders who had studied alchemy for years, the alchemy hall had all kinds of people.

However, the important thing that Peng Yun noticed among the different elders and disciples inside the alchemy hall was the fact that the overall strength of both the elders and disciples were somewhat on the weaker side compared to the elders and disciples he had seen swarming into the sect library earlier.

Maybe it was because those elders and disciples were fully focused on increasing their cultivation and in turn strength or maybe it was something different. However, that was not important to Peng Yun, as this just made him feel more confident in his choice of focusing on becoming a respected elder of the alchemy hall.

The main thing that somewhat hampered his confidence even after he had made this decision was Pei Yang.

In a sense, the reason why he had turned his focus away from alchemy and focused on breaking through to the Domain Lord Realm a year ago was also partly because of him, as he had felt like his presence had been completely overshadowed after Pei Yang had become a part of the sect.

After all, the other party was not just a Dao Seed Realm cultivator, but was also a Grandmaster Alchemist, an existence that he could only look up to, even after he had broken through to the Domain Lord Realm.

Unfortunately, now that more Dao Seed Realm cultivators and even more Soul Ascension Realm cultivators had appeared in the sect during the short year, he had secluded himself to break through to the Domain Lord Realm, it looked like he couldn’t continue hiding away and had to do everything in his power to establish himself.

”Haaa… I just hope everything works out. Especially now that there are so many elders in the sect no weaker than me…” Muttering this to himself, a determined expression briefly appeared on Peng Yun’s face as he moved deeper into the alchemy hall. Determined to become a core part of the sect’s alchemist hall.
