Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Rumble-!

ROOOAR!?

Watching from afar as the plan of the two wandering cultivators played out perfectly over the next few minutes, Xuan Hao felt a sense of dread welling up inside of him upon witnessing the demon beast in the Middle Stage of the Dao Seed Realm getting instantaneously killed by the offensive formation without any chance to fight back.

The power of the ancient offensive formation was not just powerful enough to make him feel a profound sense of fear but also gave of a feeling that it was unavoidable once activated, a feeling he hadn’t even felt when faced with someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.

For this reason, even though he wanted to go over and greet the two Dao Seed Realm cultivators who had just barely managed to survive the deadly battle, he ultimately decided to observe the situation for a bit longer. Part of him feeling uncertain about the state ancient formation and if it was even safe for him to approach after it had activated.

After all, with his strength being far above that of everyone else around, it might specifically view him as a threat and start to target him, something he wanted to avoid happening.

Feeling like he came up with a good excuse to not approach the terrifying ancient formation, Xuan Hao silently observed the two Dao Seed Realm wandering cultivators as they worked together to dismantle and split the body between each other before taking off in different directions.

Although one of the two was clearly weakened, it seemed like the second wandering cultivator had no intention of taking advantage of the situation to monopolize the corpse of the demon beast for himself. Showing that the two wandering cultivators should be on good terms, as it wasn’t odd for wandering cultivators to start fighting with each other when a treasure presented itself in front of them.

Of course, he couldn’t dismiss the fact that it could also just be because the still healthy wandering cultivator felt uncertain in taking out the injured wandering cultivator. After all, failing to kill the other party would create a lifelong enemy with more than enough strength to exact revenge if the opportunity presented itself, something that most powerful cultivators tended to avoid considering their long lifespan. Especially considering the very real fear that an enemy created in the past broke through to a higher realm and ended up coming back for revenge.

Thinking about this to himself as he watched the two Dao Seed Realm cultivators starting to disappear into the depths of the ruins, it didn’t take long before the two got far enough away from the ancient offensive formation for him to feel that it was safe for him to approach.

Swish~!

So, after picking one of the two Dao Seed Realm cultivators in the process of searching for a safe location inside the inner region for them to go over the spoils they had managed to get their hands on after the earlier battle, Xuan Hao began to slowly chase after them. Intending to converse with the two Dao Seed Realm cultivators individually before seeing if they were suited to join the Star Shattering Sect and willing to do so.

The first target among the two Dao Seed Realm cultivators obviously being the female wandering cultivator who had been injured, as helping her recover would help establish a better impression of the Star Shattering Sect to start off with. Increasing the chances of her accepting to join the sect.

”Hm… Why do I feel like I’m going around scamming people?” Feeling a hint of embarrassment, Xuan Hao quietly muttered this to himself while going over his plans for ensuring that the injured wandering cultivator had the best possible impression of the Star Shattering Sect.

He wasn’t doing anything bad… And the Star Shattering Sect was a good sect that would help them in progressing through the Dao Seed Realm, he… He would only be exaggerating a little bit when it came to the strength of the sect…

Feeling the expression on his face twisting slightly as he thought about the possibly future problems that could emerge when the people he had recruited under the pretense of the Star Shattering Sect, being far stronger than it actually was, he could only silently encourage the elders and disciples back in the sect to become stronger as fast as possible.

”Y-You- Who are you!?”

”Don’t worry, I’m not here to fight you, I just want to talk a bit.”

Hearing the voice of the female Dao Seed Realm cultivator that he had decided on trying to recruit to join the sect calling out to him filled with both a clear battle intent and fear as he had essentially appeared in front of her to block her path forward, Xuan Hao wasted no time in making his intentions clear. Understanding that if he wasted too long, she might end up directly attacking him.

”Talk…? What do you want to talk about?

Still not fully convinced after hearing what he said, the wandering cultivator unconsciously covered up her interspatial ring. Clearly believing that there was a chance that he was targeting the corpse of the demon beast she and the other wandering cultivator had just killed together.

After all, the value of a Middel Stage Dao Seed Realm demon beast’s body was something that could easily make someone in the Early Stage of the Dao Seed Realm risk their life, as the body could not just be used in alchemy, but more importantly in crafting powerful artifacts.

”Not what you are thinking about, the thing I wanted to talk about is…”

Knowing that that this wandering cultivator was growing more and more hostile with each passing second, Xuan Hao wasted no time, as he took the opportunity to start explaining his purpose for stopping her.

At the same time also taking the chance to show off his strength to make her understand that he was more than strong enough to seize her interspatial ring if that had been his intention.

In a sense, because of him being far stronger than her, the wandering cultivator ended up feeling more at ease. Knowing that he wasn’t trying to secretly lull her into a false sense of security before attacking her, as he was strong enough to kill her without doing so.

As time slowly flew by and a few hours went by with the two of them talking in a relatively quiet corner of the inner region, Xuan Hao felt like she was suitable for the Star Shattering Sect. Soon enough extending an offer for her to join the sect after he had given her a brief description of what would be expected of her after joining the sect and what she could expect in return for becoming part of the Star Shattering Sect.

In the process of explaining the overall situation of the Star Shattering Sect, he didn’t forget to mention the fact that it was an ancient hidden sect, something that was rather easy for him to convince her about after giving her an in-depth explanation of the Dao Seed Realm.

”I… I’m willing to join the Star Shattering Sect!”

Because of this, although hesitant at first, she ended up agreeing to join the Star Shattering Sect and become an elder. Making Xuan Hao break out into a bright smile, as he wasted no time in giving her the location of the Star Shattering Sect and telling her about how to enter the sect and who to contact upon her arrival.

Following this, Xuan Hao soon found himself waving goodbye to her as she began to make her way out of the ancient ruins to prepare to head towards the Star Shattering Sect.

Having successfully recruited another Dao Seed Realm cultivator to join the sect, Xuan Hao could not help smiling happily to himself as her figure soon disappeared from view.

Even if the second wandering cultivator ended up refusing his invitation, he would have already managed to get what he had originally wanted before making his way back to help out with the possible chaotic situation that might play out with so many powerful wandering cultivators joining the sect.

[Main Sect Quest: First Steps towards Becoming a Major Power (I)] [Description: The sect has entered a state of rapid growth and is about to finally step onto the main stage of the Ewaria Continent. Help the sect reach the requirements to become a major power on the Ewaria Continent.] [Core Formation Realm Disciples: 3872/10.000] [Nascent Soul Realm Disciples: 24/100] [Domain Lord Realm Disciples: 5/10] [Soul Ascension Realm Elders: 63/100] [Dao Seed Realm Elders: 4/10] [Profound Immortal Realm Ancestor: 0/1]

[Reward: World Stone (Immortal), Chaotic Qi Formation Upgrade, ???] [Note: Does not count host as part of the requirements] Looking over the main sect quest, this smile only grew wider as he saw how much closer he was to completing the quest.

Unfortunately, continuing down his current path of recruiting wandering cultivators wasn’t sustainable for the long-term development of the sect.

The current number of wandering cultivators, now part of the Star Shattering Sect, was at the absolute limit of what the current sect could handle and that was only with him around to stabilize the situation.
