Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2127: Chapter 2122: A Camel in the Chicken Coop

It’s not compassion from a Superior Being, but there is another deeper meaning.

Blood kept destruction at bay, leaving behind a trace, possibly just as a side effect.

To be honest, based on Fu Qian’s experience dealing with Superior Beings over the past few days, this outcome seems much more likely.

The actions in the hands of the two people were precisely what the Witch did when she first entered here, demonstrating the accumulation of negative effects.

Blood loss was the nightmare theme summarized at that time.

The subsequent red sand and blood flow vaguely corresponded to this point.

And now it seems to align even better—the Witch mentioned the final explosive effect of blood loss is that an important part of oneself sprays out like blood, ultimately causing irreversible change in the body.

In front of us seems to be an accurate example.

Slitting one’s own throat to bleed, the red sand underfoot and even the sheltered relic all illustrate this point.

As for the irreversible change in the body—isn’t leaving it all behind still a change?

”Did this gentleman specifically run to the Sea of Souls to perform some kind of ritualistic act here?”

Taking the helmet from the Witch’s hands, Fu Qian scrutinized it and gave a guess.

This possibility definitely looks more reasonable, although it makes the origin of the Nightmare even darker.

It’s not that he received fatal protection; it’s merely a byproduct of the ritual.

”Exactly, like a special ritual, and thus its nature changed. It’s not the Sea of Souls that needs him, but he needs the Sea of Souls.”

Being among Superior Beings for long, the Witch completely kept up with the thought process, and their ideas aligned.

...

”Unless forced to hide here, it can almost be assumed that performing in the Sea of Souls is a necessary requirement of the ritual—especially before it turned into this. Otherwise, it’s unlikely the relic would be so vibrant internally.”

The helmet was quite heavy, without clear signs of damage, and while Fu Qian was manipulating it, he continued to extend his thinking, yet unfortunately, triggered no special reaction.

”So, he was already here before the Sea of Souls turned into the Dead Sea, and this Nightmare has continued ever since.”

Observing Fu Qian’s actions, the Witch had no intention to stop him.

”Then, summarizing the issues, why does he need the Sea of Souls?”

And through exchanging deep thoughts, Fu Qian finally brought up the most core motive question.

”Information is too scarce to determine, but if it has a similar nature to your world, it at least shows that the Sea of Souls, which repels outsiders, holds special importance to Superior Beings.”

Having heard Fu Qian talk about his test results before, the Witch remembered very clearly.

”Indeed, it’s uncertain.”

It’s truly pleasant to converse with someone clear-headed, and Fu Qian instantly agreed.

”But back to the initial question—his blood is here, so where did he go? The answer to this question might help deduce the motive.

”In that case, regardless of how the process went, he morphed into another stable form, some unwanted parts remained here in this form, and then he left—or transcended.”

Blinking, Fu Qian offered his final guess.

”This is a former promotion ritual site, the entire Dreamland is its relic.”

Nodding slightly, the Witch made closing remarks, without any objection to this assessment.

...

What is the Sea of Souls?

A concept like group subconsciousness, underwater iceberg, Fu Qian could still grasp.

But what is its significance in the Supernatural World?

This is almost naturally the question after confirming the Sea of Souls repels outsiders.

It can be accessed through dreams, some Psychic Series individuals’ abilities are even related to it, none of this is strange.

Then the repelling of Superior Beings—is it because their will is too strong, and once integrated, would crush others directly?

It seems to make sense, like a camel squeezing into a chicken coop—but the problem is this chicken coop is particularly interconnected.

Currently confirmed pathways include leading to the Unseen Hillock, the land where Gods fell, and Akons’ former belief remnants as a barrier in between.

It feels somewhat conflicted.

Until the exploration of this special Nightmare yielded an interesting piece of information—Superior Beings appear to need it, and they need the Sea of Souls itself, instead of influencing people in the real world through it.

This seemingly fragile nest, which is weak for a camel, suddenly seemed more mysterious; its interconnected nature doesn’t seem that strange anymore.

In summary, Dead Sea, blood loss, Superior Beings... though no definitive conclusions were gained from this trip, it still greatly broadened horizons.

Crack—

Meanwhile, the cooperating Witch actually drew that great sword.

It’s indeed a fine weapon; just the look seems to emanate uprightness.

Yet it’s quite too big, disproportionate to the Witch’s form when held.

”Can’t perceive any special connection; like the blood, it’s been thoroughly abandoned by its original owner.”

And she seemed likewise, shaking her head the next moment.

Abandoning it as worthless, though equipment can still be managed, releasing one’s own blood without concern—what level of detachment does that entail?

”Seems a bit unstable, shall we head back?”

Sighing internally, Fu Qian whimsically imagined the appearance of the mysterious figure after the ritual while confirming the situation.

As the Witch wielded the sword, fragments began flying off it.

And armor beside showed similar marks, vividly depicting the Dreamland’s collapse.

However, it doesn’t seem problematic, temporarily taking over and achieving this level is already good; besides, there’s little left to explore.

Of course, the trip’s original intention, the Witch’s ”mother”, traces of the earlier Dark Moon, still appeared unfruitful.

”It’s indeed somewhat unstable, but considering this interesting nature—”

Not only did she not discard the sword, but the Witch even raised it above her head the next moment.

With this motion, specks of azure blue emerged from the sword’s spots of ”rust,” as if enchanted.

Psst—

A few seconds later, the sword was casually tossed aside, deeply inserted into the red sand.

And with this action, coldness surged instantly, freezing everything.

Red sand, armor, relics... even their collapse.

At that moment, the Dreamland fell into a deep freeze, seemingly ending its fate of collapse but allowing it to exist long-term.

Understood, didn’t find traces of Dark Moon but can leave some traces of Dark Moon, right?

Realizing the Witch intended to preserve this Heart Sea’s Legacy, Fu Qian naturally had no objections.
