Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2107: Chapter 2102: Reception and Transformation

Upon learning of the knight’s visit, the pontiff urgently returned to the capital, which was quite normal.

It was originally made possible by using the remains of a Superior Being as fuel, descending with great effort.

In the end, there was no one to receive me, so why waste the effort over there? It’s better to return promptly for a reverse reception.

As for why it wasn’t immediate, Fu Qian could easily guess—the best course was to devour the Other Shore completely.

After his departure, the Witch would likely abandon her previous balanced stance and instead drive that string of bones to devour to the extreme, depleting that invisible ”well” as fast as possible.

It might not have any nourishing effect, but at least it could minimize the impact of the annihilation of the Other Shore.

”The size is also appropriate.”

However, in the precious time earned through such great power, the Witch continued to critique the knight’s appearance without hesitation.

”But if it were up to me, I’d make a few more tweaks.”

Without waiting for Fu Qian to be modest after continuous praise, she directly offered improvement suggestions.

Stepping forward, the next moment the Witch took from Fu Qian’s hands the helmet that was impeccable in shape.

Ding—

While casually playing with it, the Witch seemed to be changing the style to something more practical, merely tapping lightly with her fingers, causing a faint echo.

Following this action, a ripple reminiscent of both frost and moonlight materialized from her fingertips, spreading outward.

In the blink of an eye, the equipment was imbued with the dark blue of the Dark Moon, transforming into the same color scheme as the former Imperial Gifted Mask.

Upon closer inspection, one could even notice bits of silver-white snowflakes appearing and disappearing on the surface similar to the Dark Moon Ring.

”Here you go.”

Once finished, the Witch didn’t even return it to Fu Qian, instead gesturing for him to lower his head slightly and directly put it on him.

Fu Qian naturally had no objections, cooperating fully and allowing the Witch’s fingers to pass over his body.

On one hand, the pontiff’s taste was indeed excellent, and this armor suited the unique Dark Moon enchantment, taking the visual effect to another level.

On the other hand, although his extraordinary perception was gone, he could still confirm that this was not simply a visual effect.

No wonder, having returned to her domain, the pontiff’s blessings were so effortless compared to the previous remote operation.

...

”Very nice... try changing your form.”

Withdrawing her hand, the Witch was quite satisfied with her creation, even letting Fu Qian try it out.

Oh?

This method of testing intrigued Fu Qian even more, and one of his arms immediately swelled.

Without deliberate embellishment, the Mechanical Godzilla style reappeared instantly, its sharp lines piercing through the new outfit.

Indeed, the special effects added by the pontiff did not have the invincible underpants effect of the Hulk, as the body expanded along strange arcs that tore open.

However, at the same time, the torn parts were not exposed but were instantly filled with a surge of ice crystals.

Transparent and intertwined, this transformation paired with the originally hard lines had a strong visual impact.

Noble, eternal, indestructible... sworn to eradicate all defiance and impurity for the pontiff.

Ripping—

The next moment, Fu Qian’s entire body swelled to the scale of a Brilliant Tyrant.

Sure enough, the translucent ice crystals spread throughout his body, combining with the torn armor to form a Holy Spirit-like physique.

”Very suitable, this is the effect I wanted... so do you prefer this as the First Apostle or the Seventh Apostle’s form?”

Watching with increasing satisfaction, the Witch nodded and posed a particular question.

Herbert or Anke?

Fu Qian understood immediately.

When the era of the Dark Moon began with the fall of the Stars Association, there arose the notion of the pontiff’s First to Seventh Apostles.

Among them, the specific roles were the ones he offered.

One engaging in multi-faceted maneuvers with the Bloodline Clan, spreading the Gospel; the other, inspired, believed in the Dark Moon as reality despite disbelief and ultimately earned the title of the most beloved Godson.

”Herbert, Anke’s image can be more approachable.”

The Witch asked earnestly, and Fu Qian pondered seriously, quickly giving an answer.

Involving the pontiff’s Gospel cannot be taken lightly.

”This is indeed more appropriate... hadn’t expected you to come so quickly, would you like to sit in my new cathedral first?”

The Witch obviously had no objections to Fu Qian’s response, nodding her head and gesturing upwards.

”Sure.”

As Fu Qian replied, his form had already returned to normal.

Remarkably, the armor blessed by the Dark Moon also reverted to its original state, in a smooth and natural manner.

...

It’s quite similar to the gifts from the Red Moon.

As they ascended side by side, satisfied with his new form, Fu Qian couldn’t help but naturally recall the unmanifestable one for now.

It shouldn’t be deliberate, but one cannot deny that both pieces of armor and both moons thoughtfully considered his extravagant costume wear and tear.

As a result, the final gifts were more inclined towards privacy protection.

”Have you encountered the scarlet moon you mentioned earlier on this return?”

Once again manifesting the pontiff’s great power, they ascended another level, with the First Layer of the World Within the Painting nearly in sight. The Witch offhandedly asked, also touching on the Red Moon.

”I have, but its condition remains poor.”

Fu Qian merely sighed in response.

”Recently, it devoured a First Phase, still digesting it. Unfortunately, although it gained some abilities, its state of will seems not to have improved significantly, rendering communication nearly impossible.

”However, it’s not entirely unfruitful, as it did offer a particular name—Annalise.”

In an instant, Fu Qian shared the name of the Progenitor of the Blood Clan.

”Annalise... never heard of it.”

Pausing briefly, the Witch muttered to herself, then shook her head.

”Do you perceive anything now?”

Without disappointment, Fu Qian continued to inquire.

”Still nothing; this name hasn’t triggered any special reaction in this world, at least not within my perception.”

The Witch shook her head again, clearly understanding why Fu Qian had asked.

Her earlier self-talk wasn’t meaningless; in a place exposed to the starry sky, uttering a potential Superior Being’s true name was a small test indeed.

Much like the knight who had lost his extraordinary perception, she too had not garnered special results.

”Did you notice the change here?”

After giving such feedback, she posed a question in return.

”Can’t feel it but I saw, the weather doesn’t seem to be good.”

Fu Qian surveyed his surroundings and nodded.

”Has something taken note of the commotion here?”
