Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5317: Pulling Noctis Up?

”Yes, this- I don’t sense him either.” Styx’s relaxed wolf ears instantly shot forward in an alert manner.

”Yeah. I could trace him even while he’s using the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps. No big deal, but I can’t sense him just like Styx. This is extremely strange!” Ragna raised his voice.

Their powerful soul senses scanned the vicinity and extended beyond, but they couldn’t find Noctis.

”He got kidnapped.” Suddenly, Tianyu said with a wry smile.

”What!?” Styx and Ragna reacted with shock as they turned to look at him.

On the other hand, the eldest siblings like Azariel and Lucian seemed to have an inkling.

”Who else other than father?” Tianyu chuckled as he ran his hand through his long silver hair.

”Marriage is no joke. Noctis went and did the unthinkable while still young. According to the family’s guidelines, the advisable age to act of your own discretion when choosing a partner for yourself is when you’re a hundred years old. It would be somewhat understandable if he did it as an adult like us, but he’s barely eighteen years old. In other words, the inquisition is here to burn him at the stake. Father probably heard it from the mothers and instantly acted upon it. Perhaps he is in the prison by now.”

”...”

Everyone went silent, their expressions showing varying degrees of shock.

”It can’t be that serious, right?” Eterna sounded worried.

Tianyu flicked his sleeves, ”If it’s not that serious, does elder sister think we, our father’s sons, would honestly keep ourselves pure until the day of marriage, much less just have one woman for the rest of our lives while we watch father bring an entire harem around him for nearly every occasion? You have your desires, and we have ours.”

Eterna and the other female siblings turned, gobsmacked by this revelation.

Before, the boys had never dared to speak this openly, but evidently, Noctis’s actions had indeed changed at least one of their perspectives.

Everyone then turned to look at Yulai Nuxaren, fearing that she might take offense, but she just smiled lightly. In their long years of dual cultivation, she and Tianyu had only held hands as they sat opposite each other. They used the pores on their hands to transfer and refine energy, so it was as innocent as it could get, but she also knew that Tianyu wouldn’t stop alone with her, and she was fine with it.

The boy she grew up with, her childhood sweetheart, was also her dream man in nearly every regard possible. Even as she weighed the others, Tianyu still appeared a level higher in her heart. He was dazzling, charismatic, and charming, and most importantly, attracted her physique like flames that called upon the moths.

”Only elder brother Azariel knows what it’s like to be watched like a hawk and suppressed from making a move on the beauties.” Tianyu ended with a harrumph.

Azariel’s lips parted in a speechless manner.

Even his younger siblings were taking a dig at him?

”Come here, you little devil.”

”Ah!”

Azariel raised his hand, causing Tianyu to jump and flee, with a sudden change in his serious expression that went from seriousness to nearly laughing out loud.

In the skies, Davis had his hand clenched, and an extension of his soul force grabbed Noctis by the nape, letting him hang in the air as Davis stared down at him.

”Do you know your wrongs?”

After making sure that the siblings below didn’t wrongly panic and even guessed that it was their father who made the move, Davis nodded approvingly before turning to look at Noctis.

Noctis didn’t struggle.

He lowered his head, and said softly, ”Father, I deserve a thousand deaths. I was unable to endure and acted upon my desires. Please punish me.”

”...”

Davis didn’t respond. He continued staring down at Noctis, causing him to break out into a cold sweat.

”Explain it to me clearly while we go see her.”

”Okay- wait- see her, what?” Noctis was just about to heave a sigh of relief when he saw that his father was willing to listen instead of getting angry and lashing out as his mothers feared. But it quickly turned on him.

”Hmm. I located her. She is in the newly established Misty Pill Palace that belongs to Lest Mistwalker’s little sister. Is she an alchemist?”

”...” Noctis shuddered but still answered, ”Yes...”

He didn’t dare lie, for he knew his father was using Heart Intent. He explained everything from the start to the end without any falsehoods and also revealed that Mother Nadia intended for this to happen.

”I wasn’t allowed to see Thamana Deuce from that time. I heard she had gotten sick greatly from my... essence... but Mother Everlight had cured her of the deathly illness that had taken root inside. We still weren’t allowed to meet, but Thamana Deuce is her own person. As far as I could tell, she can see the big picture, doesn’t waste time, and is bold enough to obtain what she wants through her efforts. She sent a letter stating that she would pursue alchemy in the Misty Pill Palace and would come to ask my hand in marriage sooner or later.”

Noctis went all red in his cheeks. He clenched his big fists and said with a genuine expression, ”Father, I think... I think I adore this woman...”

”...”

Davis was more worried about that Fiend who seemed to still be lurking, but it seemed like they had cut out a deal with him, so he could only ask Nadia and Mingzhi for more details.

Since they didn’t deem it an immediate threat, he supposed it wasn’t an emergency risk to deal with.

Nonetheless, he heaved a sigh of relief inwardly.

Fortunately, his reliable son Noctis hadn’t gotten this Thamana Deuce pregnant. It wasn’t surprising, considering he would really have trouble leaving descendants because of the death-attribute bloodline. Moreover, since this matter was orchestrated by Nadia, he supposed he didn’t need to be overly harsh.

As the other half parent for Noctis, he felt like Nadia could absolutely make decisions in his stead when it came to the future of their children. But still, he felt this was too abrupt, making him feel as though he had missed a huge part of his children’s life.

More importantly, he didn’t want his sons to be saddened and wanted them to have good life companions, so he wanted to check this woman called Thamana Deuce personally.

Soon, they arrived at the Misty Pill Palace.

Davis gazed down while Noctis was breathless.

This place was supposed to have been abandoned since a day ago because of the evacuation, but it was already bustling again!
