Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5311: Convening The Harem Council

After Davis left, there was some momentary silence yet also tension.

Fiora, Zestria, and the others glared at each other. However, they knew if they opened their mouths, they might get nowhere, and Davis might really just sleep.

They were aware of the exhaustion that must’ve gotten hold of his body after such a daunting trip.

But today, they didn’t intend to let him sleep.

They had waited too long, and if they missed this opportunity, it was unknown when the next would be. They panned their gazes, looking at each other as they inferred the other’s intent.

Nearly everyone was present.

Evelynn sat in the southwestern seat, the seat nearest to Davis. They sat according to their position, but not strictly. At this moment, they stood up and changed locations as they went, headed to the Harem Council in silence, and sat according to their number.

Of the seventeen seats on one end and seventeen seats on the other, Evelynn occupied the stone seat that had the word: [FIRST]

Illumina also arrived at the hall as she looked around.

With her lips parted, she inhaled the sweet aromatic scent of the hall as her eyes sparkled. She dared not come here for a long time, even though she had been invited. She had declined each time, but now that she had accepted her status as Davis’s wife and even got pregnant with his child, she proudly sat on the throne made just for her: [THIRTY-FOURTH]

Indeed, the Harem Council dictated that the last member of the harem would always get to be seated on a throne. There were various reasons for it, but the most important one was to welcome them and congratulate them for being chosen by their Emperor.

If it were anyone other than Illumina, they might’ve been overwhelmed, as they might feel it might offend everyone else here.

Jade Aurora, who sat opposite her, patted Illumina with a lovely smile. She had barely sat on the throne a few times before Illumina got it now.

Then everyone collectively said as they cupped their hands, ”Congratulations, Illumina, for becoming one of us, one of our sisters.”

Even Zenova was no exception. In fact, she was the one who would actively follow propriety and rules in the harem above all.

”You’re all too polite. I’ll do my best~ Please protect my children~”

Illumina instantly stood up, her bunny ears flinging up before she waved her hands shyly.

”Of course.” Lea and many others nodded.

”Leave them to us.” Fiora flicked her sleeves.

”Yes, there would be no problem.”

Panqa smiled elatedly. She had also gone through this informal ceremony. Everyone treated her really well when she got pregnant, going shopping with her and taking care of her. It was probably the most time she had spent without Lanqua by her side, but still one of the happiest.

It put into perspective how different it was to carry his child, and perhaps aided by that perspective, the others were also after Davis right now while dropping pretenses.

”Just give all your children to Shea.” Zenova uttered with a warm smile, ”You won’t get them back after she corrupts them.”

”Ahaha~”

Everyone laughed while Shea pouted.

Nevertheless, they sat down and went silent, waiting for the speaker to raise their voice first.

”Umm...” Mingzhi finally spoke after she saw that everyone had settled down, ”Everyone, this is an unofficial convention, so I won’t bother counting it and make record of it in the official records. Therefore, your statements today won’t be recorded, but keep in mind that we have our own minds to remember. Today, we are all passionate that our darling has returned. Speak politely, and if at all you feel like anger can’t be controlled, please veil yourself using one of the switches in front of you.”

”Also, convening the Harem Council like this at unofficial times is tedious, so we already have plans to create a formation disc that will allow us to make decisions on the spot.”

Seeing everyone nod, Illumina also nodded hurriedly.

She had seen the Harem Council from outside multiple times, and each time it was held, something would keep changing, like the furniture, ceiling decoration, design of the chair, formations, or other things except the rules. Since she was just here to sightsee, she felt no pressure, but she couldn’t help but feel the pressure within the hall was immense.

She was supposed to be a Peak Exalt Beast, so why did this affect her emotions?

Isabella raised her hand, ”I’ll speak first.”

Mingzhi gestured at her, ”Go ahead.”

Isabella nodded and then panned her gaze, ”First, I want to make sure of those who don’t want to participate. Please raise your hands so we may exclude you from the selection formation. Naturally, our second sister will be excluded automatically since she has been sealed for the time being from breaking through and creating a ruckus.”

Everyone cast a pitiful gaze at the seat opposite to Evelynn. If only Natalya had listened.

Zenova raised her hand without a change in expression.

Mingzhi followed suit, nearly making everyone’s eyes widen.

”Little sister, is your head fine?” Fiora asked with worry in her gaze.

”Rude lass.” Mingzhi berated her, ”I need to take care of many things, and can’t look away for the next few days. Information from outside is still pouring in from our intelligence network, and I cannot leave everything to Nightveil at these precarious times.”

”Aha~” Fiora scratched her head, ”I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked.”

Mingzhi shook her head and then looked around.

Myria raised her hand, then Panqa, Eldia, Tia, Juili, Jade, and Illumina.

”Juili and Jade, I understand.” Isabella spoke for them, ”They want to have their first time with him alone.”

She then moved her gaze to the others, ”Eldia, what’s the matter? Tia, when are you going to spawn a little karmic guardian? I’m hearing rumors that you don’t like Davis anymore.”

”Who said that!?” Tia stood up as she banged the table with her palms.

Isabella smilingly nodded, ”I did, just now.”

”...”

Tia went speechless. This honest and sincere elder sister had been thoroughly corrupted by Davis now that she was even fishing for her intentions at the first exchange.

”So what’s the reason then?” The next question indeed came, disallowing her from speaking in circles.

Tia also couldn’t say that she wanted to have her first time alone because she had many chances, so she could only grit her teeth.

”It has to do with our physiques. It’s dangerous for us to dual cultivate, just like it had been for elder sister Myria and Davis.”

”Oh...” Isabella didn’t know if it was the truth or not, since this was the most likely reason, but it wasn’t really believable considering it was just the Karmic Guardian Physique. How could it have such a drastic reaction? Regardless, she supposed this was a good enough reason at the moment. She thought of grilling her later for more information before focusing her gaze at Eldia.

”I’m full...”

Eldia heaved a yawn, appearing sleepy as she rubbed her belly, ”I ate a lot of resources over the past months and stayed inside master nearly the whole banquet, devouring desolate heavenly lightning. It was incredible, much more powerful than I expected, and I’m not able to refine it fully. I think I’m going to enter seclusion to enter the Exalted Spirit Stage soon.”

”That fast?”

Isabella gawked. The others also showed similar expressions, a few even envious.

Didn’t Eldia just become an Empyrean along with them at the same time?
