Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5316: The Stance Of The Sons

”Father has come back safely~ I’m so happy~” Sheria said with a cute smile, her voice melodious.

Lucian and the others also couldn’t stop smiling when reminded of that.

Just a day ago, it was as though the skies were going to collapse on them. Most of them had never faced such overwhelming pressure in their entire lives. Only Lucian and Azariel were able to remain with their heads high and their hands poised to strike at a moment’s notice.

Even Eterna and Celestia, who were responsible for taking care of the siblings, had felt panic-stricken, although they didn’t let it show on their faces.

It wasn’t their first time facing such danger since they were transported out of the First Haven World like this and later had to make a place for themselves in the Second Layer. Everything was so hectic and discordant, and this time was also the same since they needed to either make the last stand or flee. It was an extremely hard decision for them to leave their father here like that.

None of them had the mind to leave, but they knew they would be of no use staying, so they had to slap themselves and do as their father said.

Now, they couldn’t help but think about it and laugh bitterly, teasing each other’s expressions and state at that time.

However, none of them still had the peace of mind to scatter.

They knew things could turn dangerous anytime, so they remained together to be able to move at a moment’s notice. They made their way down the mountain and reached the plains by the time the rays of the sun were still rising on the horizon, getting to their old playgrounds, although for the younger children, it was still their playground.

Eventually, their conversation ended up going towards companionship and romance because they were talking about their father, and they knew their father was going to embrace their mothers. Then the conversation subtly shifted to their siblings who had tasted the forbidden fruit of dual cultivation.

At first, it merely started as a rumor, but then it became an open secret.

Receiving the strange gazes, Noctis kept his back straight.

He acted like this didn’t concern him, but under the reproachful gaze of his elder sisters Eterna and Celestia, he eventually caved in.

”It’s true.”

”Woah~” Eterna raised her hand to her face. Her cheeks reddened a bit as she gazed at her young sibling with a strange gaze.

He no longer felt like she was the same Noctis she knew.

Celestial and the others also felt the same.

Instantly, Noctis was bombarded by many questions.

”Who is she? Do you like her?” Sheria asked with a curious gaze, her eyes shimmering with intense curiosity.

”What kind of talent does she have?” Viridia’s purple eyes flickered.

”Has the family approved of this relationship?” Little Eden narrowed his eyes, ”Why is it done so secretly when brother Tianyu can openly marry elder sister Yulai while elder brother Lucian’s marriage with Saffira still isn’t approved? Why is marriage so difficult to understand?”

Lydia, who stood by Eden and Arc’s side, turned speechless at Eden’s question. She herself disliked marriage because she got killed by her husband-to-be or someone posing as him on the day of marriage in her previous life, so she didn’t intend to marry in this life at all.

However, just because of one bad experience, she didn’t intend to drag down the others. This was a good family, and everyone shared a close bond.

Lydia moved her mouth suddenly, ”If I’m going to end up with someone, then it must be at least someone I can love with my whole heart like mothers do for father. He’s only one man, yet they’re all pining for him and believe in him. I think this needs to be studied well.”

She uttered the last few words in a profound manner.

”Men with multiple wives?” Eterna pouted, ”I don’t want. I don’t want to share~”

”I’m not saying you should accept that kind of man,” Lydia said, shaking her hands, ”I’m saying it’s worth studying so you can make your own man when you meet one with potential.”

”Ah~” Eterna slapped her hands and pointed at her. ”It makes sense. As expected of a reincarnated person. Teacher Lydia always has a solution for every problem.”

”Hehe~” Lydia dryly laughed as her cheeks twitched.

She couldn’t tell if elder sister Eterna was taking her words seriously or making fun of her, but seeing the others nod, she knew she held some influence because she always sprinkled all kinds of knowledge on them that even the Davis Family wasn’t aware of.

”What about you, brother Noctis?” Eterna turned to look at Noctis, her crimson eyes flashing with a teasing light, ”Do you want many women? The family rules allow three wives as long as you can get your initial partner to agree.”

”...” The others also looked towards Noctis, expecting a solid answer from him.

Despite his tall height and slightly broad shoulders, Noctis felt like the others were growing in height and towering above him right now as he received their ardent gazes. His wolf ears were pinned back in panic as he gazed towards his blood sister Styx and blood brother Ragna for help, but they mercilessly abandoned him as they looked away.

Who told him to pounce on the beauty?

Just as he was about to open his mouth, he suddenly disappeared from their gaze.

”Ah, this little rascal. He escaped using Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps!”

Eterna’s lips parted in shock as she saw Noctis disappear. Could it be that her influence as the eldest sister no longer commanded the little siblings? Just as she wanted to crouch and play-cry, the others spoke.

”This... no. I don’t sense him.” Azariel raised his brows as he gazed around.

Lucian also narrowed his eyes, feeling strange.

How could Noctis just disappear from their sight when their cultivations were higher, and their soul sense was powerful and trained enough to see through the concealment methods of their own family?
