Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5144: Must Be Hexed

Jillian Hayden’s expression turned awkward as she knew she was asking too much from a person, as losing fifteen percent bloodsoul essence would mean many problems down the line.

A bloodsoul essence was usually made up of two parts blood essence and one part soul essence. Only Empyreans and above are able to bring out such an essence, but since it contained both essences, it would inevitably lead to a lot of problems, which depend on the cultivation manual they use and the injuries or sequela they already have.

She clenched her teeth and said, “Then, ten percent would do! Any less and it would be very difficult for me to investigate it, much less have a good chance of succeeding in neutralizing it.”

Evelynn thought for a moment before nodding, “Alright, but ten percent of blood soul essence is too much. I could be cursed to death with that. I heard you know powerful curses. Mhm, you need to be hexed by me for our cooperation to happen.”

“…”

Jillian Hayden became stunned. She needs to be hexed?

She turned to look at Davis.

“It’s not negotiable.” Davis said plainly.

He didn’t bother convincing her since it would sound hypocritical for him to ask her to trust them, but they wouldn’t trust her.

“What kind of hex?” Jillian Hayden returned her gaze to Evelynn.

“Poison Hex, so you die the cruelest death in case you try to harm me…”

“…”

“… but of course, it’ll never release on its own and would require my permission since it would be combined with the Sealing Hex. It’s called Sealed Poison Hex.”

Evelynn said calmly before adding, “Or do you prefer the Sealed Collapse Hex where you’ll explode as your cells collapse? It’s a quick death compared to the Sealed Poison Hex. However, the Sealed Poison Hex should give you a brief time to be saved in case you have helpers.”

“…”

Jillian Hayden remained dumbfounded, not knowing what words to say.

So the situation had not changed at all? She was still kidnapped with a sword hanging over her head?

“As my husband said, you’re free to leave before this deal happens and he’ll still help you reach the Alpha Exalt Stage at the very least. It’s your call.” Evelynn added.

Jillian Hayden came out of her reverie and waved her hand dismissively, “Since I chose the Divine Emperor of Death over the Supreme One, I’ll stick with it. I’m already a fugitive who would be punished by the Heaven’s Warriors Organization. They wouldn’t consider my status as a victim at all. Moreover, I tried to frame the Supreme One an adulterer. I’d be too ashamed to seek his eminence’s help. I would rather die.”

“Besides, I’m also interested in these two strange bloodlines mixing. I’ll take the quick death hex.”

Jillian Hayden heaved a breath and closed her eyes as she spread her arms wide, “Do it.”

…

..

.

She raised one of her brows, peeking at them, and saw Evelynn’s third eye glow with a crimson-blue hue.

“It’s done.”

“That’s it…?”

“That’s all.” Evelynn said calmly.

Jillian Hayden could only blink. Why the hell couldn’t she detect the hex!?

It was no wonder two Grade Eight Bloodline Families fell overnight!

Evelynn raised her hand and cut the index finger with her thumb finger’s sharp nail. Blood seeped out and began to coalesce with an amazing speed and density. Blood pumped from her heart and exited via the wound.

Jillian Hayden quickly readied ten vials upon seeing this. After Evelynn was done coalescing ten percent of her bloodsoul essence, she then distributed it to the ten vials.

Instantly, Evelynn’s aura dropped a bit, and her breathing became slightly heavier.

Davis gently held Evelynn from behind and said to Jillian Hayden, “Don’t worry. You have my word that Evelynn won’t unleash the Sealed Collapse Hex unless you do something to her.”

Jillian Hayden turned around and then said as she walked away to the desk.

“I believed you, but right now, I’m second-guessing my thoughts. Hopefully… the Divine Emperor of Death won’t betray me.”

Davis could only purse her lips. When it came to Evelynn’s safety, he would barely ever compromise.

“I’m fine…” Evelynn stood straight and firmly as she patted his hand over her shoulder.

Davis began healing her with life energy to restore her bloodsoul essence. He then slowly walked her to the balcony and gestured.

“See? You couldn’t get this amazing view of the Ethereal Lumina Tree from anywhere else.”

Evelynn’s eyes widened slightly as she looked into the distance.

The Ethereal Lumina Tree towered above the city like a pillar of heaven, its countless crystalline leaves shimmering with silver-gold radiance. Every branch seemed to carry rivers of starlight across the night sky, bathing the entire city in a dreamlike glow.

“So beautiful…” Evelynn softly uttered.

The exhaustion from losing ten percent of her bloodsoul essence and the relaxation from the life energy seemed to fade as she rested both hands on the balcony railing with some innocent excitement. Her purple eyes reflected the tree’s light while a gentle breeze lifted strands of her purple-crimson hair. For a moment, she simply stood there, mesmerized by the breathtaking sight.

Davis smiled as he watched her reaction.

He quietly held her hand and enjoyed the moment, also wishing that some idiot wouldn’t break this moment by breaking in through the formation in front of them.

Before the desk, Jillian Hayden watched them with a faint glint in her eyes before she turned her head and lowered her gaze at the vials.

She understood their closeness in an instant.

Compared to them, the relationships she had experienced throughout her life suddenly seemed shallow. There were no political alliances or mutual benefits. Just pure affection for each other as they seemingly seemed to be able to move mountains in order to protect each other.

However, it popped a question in her mind: the first wife gets to enjoy such affection, so how were the other wives treated?

*Bzzzz!~*

Abruptly, the skies shook and dark clouds formed in the air, causing the three of them to be shocked.

“…”

Davis was dumbfounded.

It was a heavenly tribulation. This moment wasn’t interrupted by anyone but the heavens!?

But this tribulation wasn’t happening in this city. It was far away on the opposite side of the Ethereal Lumina Tree. They couldn’t see it other than the dark clouds covering the Ethereal Lumina Tree. They could only sense the direction.

“This is… a World Hegemon Heavenly Tribulation!?”

Jillian Hayden ran to the balcony and exclaimed, her gaze filled with shock and awe.

“This direction… it’s coming from the Second Bastion City…”

Davis narrowed his eyes before they widened, ‘Handsome fatty succeeded in helping the Stone Titan Clan!?’
