Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5108 Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan

It was almost dawn.

A strange, translucent silhouette crawled into a mansion, entering through a window before moving deeper without triggering a single detection formation.

Finally, it landed before a person and knelt.

”Patriarch, I have retrieved the item as you have demanded.”

He extended both his hands and tapped his spatial ring, causing a jade container to sit on the palm.

Opposite to him, the person called the Patriarch sat on a grand chair that resembled more of a throne than a comfortable chair. He wore a brown robe, his purple hair swaying with the wind coming from the breeze outside. His expression was serene, but when he saw the item in the other partyʼs hand, his gaze flickered.

He reached out his hand and pulled the jade container to him.

”So the information we received on it was true. Someone did really give away this fruit as a tribute…”

After opening it, he saw it was a Blackcurse Coiling Dragon Fruit, a resource that helped their clan increase their bloodline strength.

”Iʼm glad you like it, Patriarch.” Said the young man.

”Did you get anything else?” The Patriarch smilingly asked.

”Nothing else, Patriarch. I wanted to-”

”Trash!”

*Bang!~*

Abruptly, Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clanʼs Patriarch rose from his seating and quickly appeared before the young man, stomping his head with his foot and making him kneel all the way down.

”You just returned with the items I demanded? There shouldʼve been so many treasures. If you were able to get in and steal with ease, you shouldʼve stolen more. Otherwise, what use is your life?”

The Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan Patriarchʼs cold gaze arrested the young man even without the foot suppressing him, causing him to shudder.

He tried to resist, but it was useless, causing him to heave a few words without emotion.

”Forgive me, Patriarch. This junior is useless.”

The Patriarch snorted, ”If it werenʼt for the third founding ancestorʼs dying request, our Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan wouldnʼt keep filth like you. How many times do I have to say your branchʼs only use is to help the Blackcurse Voidfang Clan shower in glory, yet your trash technique, invented by your branchʼs dead ancestor, made us a laughingstock and brought us immense shame. Even a million deaths wouldnʼt be enough to redeem your branchʼs eternal crime.”

He took his foot from his head and then around to return to his seat.

”…”

The young man raised his head, blood flowing from his head. Yet it healed rather quickly. Clearly, the Patriarch didnʼt put much force behind the strike, but the humiliation was clearly higher.

Even though the humiliation was higher, the young man still didnʼt even release a single hint of killing intent, his expression one of indifference.

After being seated and making himself comfortable, the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clanʼs Patriarch harrumphed.

”Leave. Write a report on what you found there and send it to me later. Also, donʼt use your filthy technique to leave. Youʼre still a member of my Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan, after all. However, remember to keep your head straight, but keep it low in the manor.”

”As you command, Patriarch.”

The young man stood up and cupped his hands before leaving. He kept his head low as he was instructed.

He walked out of the Patriarchʼs Hall and made his way out.

He was almost out when a few people blocked his path.

”Yo, if it isnʼt the trash who likes to travel in the sewers,”

A few young men who wore similar robes stood in front of him, their expressions filled with amusement. The person who spoke was clad in a luxurious brown robe that marked his status as a young master, his looks quite extraordinary, but when he grinned, his appearance was starkly terrifying with his razor-sharp teeth.

He appeared to be a fey at the Sovereign Stage. His lips moved, ”What are you up to now? Looking to infest someone elseʼs home now that youʼve become a Primarch?”

”Heiner Malark,” The young man narrowed his eyes, ”Whether I go to someone elseʼs house is none of your business. Get out of my way.”

”Aiyo, you, a mere sinner of the branch clan, dare to pick a fight with the young master of the main clan?” A lackey from the side echoed with amusement.

”Hey,” Young Master Heiner Malark stopped him, ”Itʼs fine. Our brother here is Zevonn Malark, a member of the branch clan that has been exiled for so long that they had to hide and live in shame for who knows how long? The crime they had committed, it has been so long that we might not care anymore, depending on their attitude. If it werenʼt for the Great Migration, we wouldnʼt have reunited, so this could be said to be a blessing in disguise. Moreover, heʼs that branchʼs Young Master before they arrived here with us, so we canʼt be rude.”

”Ai, Young Master Heiner is too kind.” His lackeys shook their heads.

”Brother Zevonn, if you want to leave, please do so. However…”

Young Master Heiner Malark gestured for Zevonn Malark to leave, but he suddenly pointed down and blinked innocently as he spread his legs.

”You like to crawl, donʼt you? Why donʼt you crawl under my crotch and leave?”

”Hahaha!”

”…”

Laughter erupted in the entrance, but Zevonn Malark looked as indifferent as ever.

He moved sideways and walked away, causing the lackeys to burst out in rage.

”How dare you!?”

”You dare to ignore our Young Master!? You want to court death?”

Young Master Heiner Malark spread his hands, ”Pipe down, fellas. It isnʼt like… heʼs going anywhere other than to the lavatory to crawl around.”

”Pftt- hahaha!”

The lackeys instantly burst out laughing and rolled around. Some elders who were watching the scene found it both tasteless and funny. None of them stopped them.

Zevonn Malark walked out of the Blackcurse Voidfang Clanʼs Mansion, finally able to breathe some fresh air.

The previous incident wasnʼt on his mind at all as he appeared used to it. Instead, his thoughts wandered, wondering who that white-haired, crow-masked person was. He still couldnʼt believe he was let go since he felt it was nothing short of a miracle.

Still, there were many questions in his head.

Who was that person? What was he doing in the Treasury of all places? Now that he looked back, that person seemed to also have control of the formations instead of the City Lord. It was confusing as hell, but he decided not to write it in the report since he would just be ordered to steal from there again.

Davis, who was reading the [Voidroach Blackcurse Movement Art] from midnight to the morning, finally yawned, grasping all he could before keeping it inside his spatial ring.

He stretched out his arms and sighed in admiration.

”What an amazing movement-concealment technique. If only its form werenʼt so degrading… but no wonder this technique is practically unheard of. Itʼs indeed ridiculous to practice it that when you actually crawl, shame overwhelms you that you become unable to practice the technique instead.”

”Mhm~ Itʼs creepy.”

Evelynnʼs voice resounded in his head. She was also learning along with him after he actively exchanged information with this impersonated identity.

”As a Level One Primarch with a prowess thatʼs one level higher, he was even able to hide from your perception for a limited time. However, with the creepy movements, if this turns out to be useless, will you regret letting him leave and he exposes you?”

”Nah, he wonʼt expose me.” City Lord Davis in his master room said with a smug face, ”He has a heart full of hatred, but it isnʼt directed at me. In fact, when I caught him, he was filled with resignation and grievance, but it still wasnʼt towards me. When I offered him a path out, he was frightened and confused but also hopeful. When he mentioned the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan, his hatred rose. Most likely, he was forced to come here and steal some stuff. I saw what he stole. One was an urn that contained ashes, and the other was the Blackcurse Coiling Dragon Fruit, which aids in the increase of bloodline purity of the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel, so it must be the Blackcurse Voidfang Eelʼs Patriarch who let him out and forced him to steal. Otherwise, coming here is suicide.”

”If Iʼm right, the ashes were probably the ashes of someone close or important to his immediate family. He said that they had accidentally given it away as tribute, but the way I see it, the Blackcurse Voidfang Eelʼs Patriarch probably planted it here so that the young man could be forced to come here and steal for them.”

”You seem rather amused.”

”Of course.” Davis nodded as though it was a matter of fact, ”I still need to experience the vicissitudes of life from many people in order to improve my Heart Intent, other than imposing my Will every now and then. The latter is the most troublesome since I dislike doing that unless itʼs fully required, but right now, Iʼm spamming it left and right after learning that there are practically no limits on how many times I can use it. Evelynn, do you think Iʼm scary? Do you think I might use it on you or your sisters someday?”

”…”
