Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5106 Chasing A Roach

Davis stood there, stunned for a moment.

It had to be known that the body he was currently in belonged to City Lord Kain Waterland, a Level Eight Exalt, though to others it would appear as a Level Three Empyrean due to the switch caused by the Divine Karmic Impersonation - Twilight. Nevertheless, it could be said his soul sense was stronger than his own when it came to the power it held, and combined with his natural Will, he was only making this soul more powerful.

Sure, there was a bit of awkwardness in using City Lord Kainʼs soul as the way they circulated their energy was different, and many natural advantageous didnʼt apply since it was not a reincarnation soul, but as an impersonator, he was not only impersonating their identity for the time being but also their habits and mannerisms.

It was not difficult for him to use their cultivation base and their techniques. Otherwise, he wouldnʼt have been able to use Gʼharen Bloodrainʼs body and even able to master the Blood Tempest Physique in a short time back then.

With this impersonation, his understanding of Exalt Cultivation Method circulation also became high.

Hence, Davis was dumbfounded that even in this state, someone was still elusive enough to be able to hide from his senses briefly and then escape flawlessly.

But since his pride in his concealment skill was already high, he attributed this surprise to the technique, not to the person using it.

ʼI must obtain this technique and research it…ʼ

Davis clenched his fists.

His Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps was still a Low-Level Empyrean Grade Concealment-Movement Technique, not enough for him who dealt with Exalt senses on a daily basis now, but still good so far. It didnʼt betray him since, in his hands, it proved to be as strong as an Exalt Grade Concealment Technique. Regardless, he needed to improve it, but didnʼt have enough time to pay it attention since he had spent his effort on women or developing karmic impersonation techniques and a bit of other techniques.

He put the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps in the back seat since he felt Master Deathseeker and other Ghost Tear Hall experts would take care of that.

But now that he had finally witnessed this concealment technique that can even hide from his perception, his interest was piqued.

At this time, the guests had already left, the Treasury was in lockdown, and space was sealed, so he had all the time to capture this intruder.

Davis carefully tracked that silhouette even though he kept missing it every time. It just easily slipped from his senses when he tended to focus on it.

But after tens of tries, he finally managed to glimpse why he lost sight of it every freaking time.

He noticed that every movement of this cockroach-like person produced faint black lightning ripples that interfered with his senses.

Davis quickly knew the answer to this was just not to focus on these silhouettes, so he reversed the gear on his perception and encompassed the space instead of encompassing the space and following individuals like tracking one or multiple objects at once.

His soul sense was now blurry like a sight that was staring ahead but spacing out. In his soul sense, he was still able to detect things, but no longer as quick as before. It was like a static three-dimensional layout in his head with the last seen location of the hidden intruder. It was no longer dynamic since he had zoned out.

But this helped him locate the oddity as though his zoned-out three-dimensional vision quickly allowed him to measure its approximate location.

As he concealed himself, he quickly set up an Eightfold Prison Locking Formation behind the shelves while avoiding contact with the intruder and activated the array.

First flag set in the east corner. The second flag, third flag, and fourth flag were set in their respective corners.

*Bzzz!~*

Instantly, a formless barrier encompassed the space and sealed the space within the sealed space, finally causing someone to shout.

”Ahhh!”

*Bang!~*

The Eightfold Prison Locking Formation exploded from the backlash of the pocket realm since it interfered with other spatial formations, but this directly exposed that roachʼs location.

The figure of a purple-haired man could be seen. He was clad in a black robe and wore the mask of an insect that might as well look like a roach. He quickly tried to scramble away, but a hand landed on his shoulder.

”Fellow cultivator, where are you going?”

Instantly, the man erupted and escaped as dozens of silhouettes, but Davis was already prepared.

”Flowing River, Slippery Slope~”

He recited the name of a rather basic water technique he found funny as water level as thin as one centimeter flowed across the surroundings, causing the roach to flip comically and slide with his head thrashed on the ground along with the small river that had formed across the pathway.

Then a big water burst wave from above hit the roach man like a huge cloudburst descending, smashing against his body.

*Bzzz~!*

A black lightning arc traversed through the water and struck Davis back, causing him to freeze ever so lightly.

Davis frowned lightly as he saw that it wasnʼt just a lightning attack that paralyzed, but also cursed.

”Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan?”

He voiced out a question before chasing the cockroach using the same method. But this time, he didnʼt use the prison formation.

This person was elusive and slippery with this strange technique, but it didnʼt matter as Davis already understood the intricacies of this technique.

”Youʼre annoying as a cockroach and slippery as an eel. One splits into many and wonʼt die even after taking my powerful attack, despite you being a mere Level One Primarch. Truly a cockroach with tenacious vitality. The other- naturally, the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel- repels the attacker when you are hit through accursed black lightning and causes the attacker to freeze, giving you enough time to escape or counterattack. Truly ingenious. What else you got?”

By the time Davis finished his narration, his hand was already firmly grasping the intruderʼs wrist, barring him from leaving. He used the other hand to remove the mask.

This personʼs scalp had long turned numb after being chased to death.

When his mask was removed, a pale face appeared with a terrified expression, unable to comprehend why a masked man with the same powers as the City Lord was here. Even his prowess was unlike the his cultivation. This wasnʼt supposed to be happening. Regardless, his eyes were still filled with the determination to leave.

”What? You look rather young… have you just entered the Primarch Stage?”

Davis was surprised as he thoroughly validated this person with his perception, scouring his flesh and bone, so he came to realize his bone age was no more than forty-five.

For a Primarch, this was very young.

After all, Davis was already seventy-five years old. He had lost thirty-two years in a temporal zone, so nothing could be done about that, but if it werenʼt for that, he would also be just around forty-three years old.

However, he had reincarnated over nine times at the very least and was living a new life, so it could be said he was not that many years old. His bone age was all over the place.

If he considered he was seventy-five years old, this person was still young, at the age of forty-five, even younger than him.

He didnʼt think this was possible unless he was a young master of some Greater Realmʼs major power designated for full nurturing.

However, he also noticed something else.

”Your cultivation is extremely erratic. Hmm, you wonʼt survive like this. Do you have chest pains every day at the time when the moon is at its highest point?”

Thanks for the Magica Castle, Szentin. Appreciate it a lot.
