Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5121 Controlled By Bloodlust?

Davisʼs lips curled, ”Why would I be?”

”You havenʼt said a word to me after that.” Evelynn sounded apologetic and aggrieved.

Davis chuckled, flicking his sleeves as the scrolls disappeared.

He made himself comfortable on the bed and leaned on the headrest.

”Evy, you are within your rights to investigate what happened to me and eliminate the culprits responsible for harming me as you see fit. You are at the cusp of causing a genocide right now, as soon as your Bloodruin Cataclysm Hex activates in the blood and souls of the Hayden Family. Hundreds of thousands of people could die, and seeing what they did to this young woman, I suppose they deserve it. Since they want to be protected by this young soul at the expense of her well-being, let them collectively enjoy the consequence when it backfires. I find nothing wrong with your actions, so why would I stop you?”

”…” Evelynn was about to respond but heard Davis continue.

”Everyone has their own worries. People like them get suppressed by the powerful cultivators around them. People like us get hunted down for no reason other than being Divergents. However, there are clear cut difference in the way the people treat us. As soon as they hear that we are Divergents, they want nothing more than to flee if they arenʼt overly powerful. You were a masked cultivator who stayed in that temporary residence. Everyone instantly appeared to suppress you and claim the property for themselves, but if they knew you were a Divergent, would they dare?”

Evelynn didnʼt even need to think to say what would happen, ”They wouldnʼt appear until they amassed an army or had Heavenʼs Warriors by their side…”

”Indeed.” Davis nodded, ”Jillian Hayden used whatever means she had at that time to kill me. The Hayden Family used their prized daughter to buy themselves a chance at a glorious future. We do these strange experiments without remorse and would destroy the realm if it means our survival. Everyone is just trying to survive in their own way. Thereʼs no need to fuel your hate against them so much unless itʼs personal, and this was personal. You have all the rights to seek revenge in the form you see fit.”

”…” Evelynn was momentarily confused.

She couldnʼt tell if he was praising her or wanted her to stop.

However, his next words made it clear.

”Iʼm not asking you to forgive Jillian Hayden or forget everything and pretend nothing happened as you watch me encounter life-threatening danger. I admit this poison wouldʼve put me in a miserable place, possibly getting me sealed after being found by Venerable Knight Lussandra right after. My life energy could be less effective or even useless against it. You have every right to kill her. After all, if this happened to you, I wouldnʼt be here talking but would have already massacred her and everyone behind her and forgotten all about the plan we had in mind. This is my bottom line.”

”You had your bottom line clear, and it was crossed. When itʼs crossed, screw the plan. I will never find fault with you for this matter, just like you never found fault with me when my friends were taken hostage and I had to leave you all to save them. Besides, when you take action, I know itʼs deserved because you are one of the most patient women Iʼve ever known in my life.”

”…”

Evelynnʼs lips quivered. He understood her the best, but her own emotions of guilt were still welling up within her.

”Still, I didnʼt listen to you and went out…”

She didnʼt think she acted on an impulse, as she had planned out what to do when she went out. But ultimately, she had disobeyed his words, which was unlike her, causing her to blame herself.

”So what?” Davis scoffed, ”Youʼve been in the home all year long being silent when the arachnid inside you demands blood. Iʼm pretty sure that there were times when you felt like tearing the faces of your sisters for keeping me busy and keeping you from spending time with me. All those times, didnʼt you push your instincts down and smile at them lovingly? Youʼre even trying to forgive Zenova for me when she has clearly crossed your bottom line. If you donʼt get to vent now, when will you?”

”…” Evelynn was at a loss for words.

The most recent episode of this was when Aila occupied Davisʼs time for nearly four weeks. She had the urge to slaughter Aila a few times, but this was nothing more than her arachnid blood lulling her into doing things she didnʼt want to do.

It would always whisper since her arachnid bloodline thrived on sadistic violence. This was already recorded in many records containing the characteristics of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid. Even Hexena Xylusc was plagued by her Heart Demon when the sadistic tendencies got too far after she was helpless against her enemies.

The same could be said about the Hex Arachnidʼs Matriarch, who was sacrificed to the Hell Poison Gemʼs replica.

They were all tainted by negative emotions. If they hated something, they would be sure to stab it to death, as they keep them alive until its blood flowed out endlessly before it ran out.

It got worse after the ingestion of the new bloodline- the mutation between Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid and Chaos Dragon.

The urge to play- no, murder her enemies in cold blood- was huge.

She had never felt bloodlust in her entire life, but this sensation was prominent now.

She was fighting against bloodlust and believed that she had in control, but when the urge to murder popped up after what Jillian Hayden did, and the Hayden Family and Miredon Family came knocking on her door, how could she still suppress it?

She had gone out with the intent to slaughter them should they prove to be even the slightest bit undeserving of life.

Furthermore, they didnʼt help her calm down by incriminating themselves each time, especially Jillian Hayden.

Nonetheless, now with Davis supporting her and understanding her, she felt bliss overwhelming her.

”Alright, I was wrong…” Evelynn said sweetly, ”Iʼll spare Jillian Hayden since you clearly want her to be spared… but I wonʼt stop my experiments. Most of these people arenʼt deserving of being spared, especially her parents. I just met them. They claimed she would have a good life, but knew Riyal Mendez was a rapacious bastard. It was clear when they said her life was already ruined and it couldnʼt go down anymore but only salvaged if she remained with the Saint who could heal her traumatic past.”

”Hmm.” Davis nodded, ”I will only ask you to restrain yourself when thereʼs a chance to turn back, but since youʼre already there and hexed two families, do as you wish. If weʼre exposed, then weʼre exposed. I, your dear husband, am here to take care of it!”

”…”

Evelynn couldnʼt hide her smile as she heard him bragging proudly. She completely believed his words that he would take care of any problems that would arise, but most importantly, he still treated her the best.

If it werenʼt for the serpent mask, everyone in front of her communicating with her would be stunned by her gorgeous smile.

His words completely blew away the gloom in her heart, making her return to herself.

She still had in her heart to dispel the hex and leave right now to spare Davis the trouble of having to deal with her mess. After all, it still hadnʼt activated yet but was just spreading endlessly, plaguing their bloodlines. At this point, she confirmed the Bloodruin Cataclysm Hex, a combination of Poison Hex, Collapse Hex and Blood Hex, wouldnʼt affect others that were not of the same bloodline as her targets.

It propagated endlessly within the affected bloodline, using their own bloodline karmic connection to infect others like a plague. The more hexes appeared, the stronger it grew. The stronger it grew, the more insidious it became and even affected a Mid-Level Primarch at this moment, according to Evelynnʼs senses.

She only needed to activate it for ruin to befall them, although she didnʼt know how much damage it would cause them.

At this moment, the Hayden Familyʼs Patriarch entered.
