Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5103 Awaiting Decision

”Then we await to hear your decision on the pills in three days.”

”Farewell.”

City Lord Davis cupped his hands towards the Saintʼs entourage.

Saint Riyal Mendez and the others gestured back in formality and left for the night, looking half-drunk and bloated after a small banquet filled with expensive and high-quality items. His wives had personally served the guests instead of the maids.

That was an honor that even the big shots of the major powers approved of.

City Lord Davis looked flushed from all the drinks he had had.

He had given his word that he would allow the Girias and the others to enter the essence spring underground. That was where he planned to maul them badly, so he wasnʼt opposed to letting them ʼenterʼ. As for the pills, he was unsure of it himself because there had been no word from the Hexadra Clan about it.

He had said three days because thatʼs the time he needed for Fairy Divinacia to complete the absorption of heaven and earth energy.

”Can I be there to poison them?” Evelynnʼs voice resounded in his soul.

Davis pondered a bit before saying, ”Itʼs better if you stay in the temporary residence. I want to take my time with them, torturing and perhaps handing them over to your sisters to meet their end. However, if you come here, they might die before I even get to torture them.”

”How can that be? If I donʼt want them to die, I have my ways.”

”…”

Davis went speechless.

He pondered for a moment again before saying, ”Itʼs not good. They know your face. Canʼt have them recognizing you even before I have them in my palms.”

He didnʼt say that the probably of soul marks being on them was already high since he didnʼt want to worry Evelynn.

Evelynn looked at her snake mask on the table before her as she pouted, ”Alright, Iʼll listen to you.”

”Good wife.”

Davis praised her before turning to go find a roach.

”But as you said, I really am interested to see if your truesoulʼs aura or your impersonationʼs soul aura will be imprinted on the True Soul Contract. This technique of yours is as interesting as it is devious. I need to know more about it so I can have ideas about how to incorporate it into Hex Laws.”

Davis felt a shiver, ”Evelynn, my dear. Your thoughts are dangerous. You shouldnʼt interfere with karma at the source.”

”Then what is husband doing?”

”I can do it because Iʼm the Divine Emperor of Death,” Davis said proudly.

”…” Evelynn could only pout, not really having a retort to that statement.

Her husband had the reincarnation physique and even a reincarnation wheel that is said to be mythically connected to the reincarnation cycle from the legends. She was of the thought that if he couldnʼt interfere with peopleʼs karma, then who can?

She went silent, and Davis went to look around, where this roach went when a figure exited from the restroom nearby.

”City Lord, sorry to keep you waiting.”

Saint Riyal Mendez walked out, his expression appearing quite profound as he walked up to City Lord Davis. He appeared to be a soul body.

ʼThis soul body probably has karmic defenses in place as a precaution. Even if heʼs horny to steal City Lord Kainʼs wife, heʼs cautious, alright…ʼ

Davis thought before his expression turned unsightly outwardly.

”I told you to wait for three days, didnʼt I?”

”Thatʼs for the pills.” Saint Riyal Mendez smiled sleazily, somewhat lacking the polite demeanor he had earlier, even though it was casual, ”I canʼt wait for this matter since I have other matters to take care of, but donʼt worry, I wonʼt make a move until three days later, since I donʼt want to affect the matter of the pills. Look at me, Iʼm a soul body. What can I do?”

City Lord Davis ʼthoughtʼ for a moment before nodding at Saint Riyal Mendez.

”Good! Good brother, this is why I decided to remain in your city. Donʼt worry, I will sweep any hearts filled with disloyalty from your manor. A hero like you deserves the best women in the world, not conniving bitches who emotionally cheat on their husbands and then say it is his fault.”

Hearing Saint Riyal Mendezʼs thoughts, Davis blinked, wondering if the other party had a past.

But it didnʼt matter since this person had ruined too many relationships to count. It was fine if he separated couples, but there was no need to bang the women even before the relationship ended, right?

Didnʼt the husbands have the guts to do something about it themselves?

It was clear Saint Riyal Mendez was merely using this as a cover to satisfy his kinks.

Davis felt that even if Saint Riyal Mendez began this kind of relationship therapy in the beginning with clear and helpful emotions, he felt it wouldnʼt be difficult for someone to fall deeper into this rabbit hole of stealing someoneʼs wives just for the laughs.

Other people might think the Saint really meant them good, but even if Davis didnʼt know about the Saint, he wouldnʼt fall for it with Heart Intent.

Even without encompassing Heart Intent on Saint Riyal Mendez, he could tell that the other party couldnʼt wait to take revenge on him for all the earlier comments he had made.

City Lord Davis raised his hand and motioned with his finger, causing Steward Belmont to appear before him.

”Have the maids send her to the designated location.”

”Yes.” Steward Belmont bowed his head and left.

City Lord Davis watched his leave before he glanced in the corner of his eyes that Saint Riyal Mendez was rubbing his hands like a disgusting housefly. It made Davis want to beat him up.

”Listen,” Davis said, stating some changes as though he was treating this matter seriously.

Saint Riyal Mendez listened, becoming confused, as this wasnʼt what they had initially agreed upon. However, it didnʼt seem like it mattered to him as he raised his hand and patted his shoulder.

”Good brother. You managed to find the real sinner. Although I would like to test the loyalty of the woman we initial agreed on, it doesnʼt matter. What you did was great. You cleared misunderstandings and managed to salvage your relationship. Iʼm glad for you. But on the other hand…”

”Hmm,” Davis nodded perfunctorily, ”I also didnʼt expect it to be her.”

”Honestly, this has gotten more interesting for me. Let me deal with this for you.” Saint Riyal Mendez gave him a thumbs up and disappeared, moving to the designated location they had talked about beforehand.

City Lord Davis watched him leave before snickering inwardly. Honestly, he had never seen someone so devoted to breaking into relationships. Saint Riyal Mendez really acted like he was on the husbandʼs side, so that any person who deeply respects him will believe his bullshit when they find themselves in a pickle. If Saint Riyal Mendez possessed Heart Intent, he could only imagine the damage he would cause.

Or is it because he doesnʼt possess Heart Intent and comes off as caring and helps the poor sincerely that he gets away with this all?

Davis was intrigued, wondering if he could also become a wife stealer without using Heart Intent just to see if he could.

He suddenly shivered and shook his head.

This was one thought that led one to the slippery slope. It should be as fleeting as the clouds, coming and going without a trace.
