Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4100  Lest Mistwalkerʼs Intentions

Davis felt Everlightʼs new species technique was a wonderful thing.

Now, his people would no longer have a fear of making mistakes in their cultivation. They could try whatever they wanted, but of course, it wasnʼt good to be reckless as this technique, Life Reversal To the Source, wasnʼt reversible after it was used. It only applied to a lifeform, and the regression couldnʼt be reverted from what Everlight had told him.

However, what if he added the reincarnation aspect to it?

Davis felt he may not be able to go back two years and return two years after the technique has been used. However, he felt that if a soul could regress to a state when it first entered the womb, becoming nothing more than a spark, then it should be possible for him to initiate reincarnation, bringing him back to his full age and cultivation.

This was the basis behind his idea. This idea was just, of course, another crazy idea.

He wouldnʼt know what would happen until he tried it. However, this idea was rooted in logic based on what he had found so far in his cultivation experience. The only thing he skipped was the reincarnation cycle, but his soul physique was what made him consider this plan. It had saved him from certain death, restoring his body and cultivation without a problem, so he believed it could save him once again.

”Lest Mistwalker.” Davis opened his mouth.

”Yes? Please call me Lest.”

Lest Mistwalker was much more respectful now. It seemed that he perceived this as a favor.

”Lest, have you thought about what I told you before?”

”This… I havenʼt consulted any of them yet but screw them.”

Lest Mistwalker seemed hesitant but suddenly turned determined. However, his expression turned into a scowl when he remembered how hard they had made his life.

”I am willing to join your cause, Divine Emperor of Death.”

”Do you know what youʼre saying?” Davis gave him a second chance.

”I am aware that I would become a public enemy, a great sinner who betrayed the heavens and all lifeforms underneath it, but the way I see it, youʼre no different than the other people. Sure, you may cause some calamities on your way, but which cultivator doesnʼt? Some old senior would casually exterminate a family, and there would be no one to ask for fear of retaliation. Some evil cultivator would descend and reap all the blood essence of all the people in a city, but no one bats an eye after he escapes and hides for a century millennium. So many untoward things happen- war, competition, deception, betrayal, and bloodshed never end. Perhaps I wouldnʼt say no to the universe coming to an end and watch the realms burn to end this facade once and for all.”

Lest Mistwalker quickly said and ran off his mouth, seemingly complaining, but in the end, his expression sank.

”I know you know my weakness. I only hope she could be safe. As for the rest, I wish to take revenge, but I am powerless. Sometimes, I just wish to rest. The world has been too cruel to me ever since I fell from grace. Perhaps itʼs those beasts snarling at me day and night, making me go insane. Maybe Iʼm just weak, and if I wasnʼt born into a wealthy and powerful family, I wouldʼve died long ago, but one thingʼs for sure… I respect that you can still remain hopeful and courageous even though the entire human race is looking to end you.”

With a sigh, Lest Mistwalker lowered his head. He took a deep breath and raised his head.

”Thatʼs why I want to join you. You symbolize the word ʼrebellionʼ within me.”

”…”

Davisʼs expression was quite indifferent, but inwardly, he was flabbergasted. He just wanted to know how much the other party was willing to join him, but he didnʼt expect it to be so fiery.

He checked with Heart Intent, so it couldnʼt be faked. He knew the other party was an expert at Illusion Laws, but it was nowhere near Myria and Ellia, especially Ellia, who devised a way to counter Heart Intent.

After all, he wasnʼt an expert in controlling the soul. Oneʼs emotions come from the soul. It was very difficult to control it, much less fake it in front of Heart Intent.

”I see.”

Davis finally uttered and raised his hand, his finger extending towards Lest Mistwalkerʼs forehead, and touched his glabella.

”…!”

Lest Mistwalker fiercely shook, but he controlled himself from waging a resistance. He knew he was going to be enslaved and couldnʼt help but be scared, but if it was what it took to survive and see his sister once again, he wasnʼt afraid. He made up his mind.

He felt a foreign energy invade him, making him shudder. It put an enormous pressure on him. He couldnʼt even begin to understand how powerful this soul force must be. For a moment, he didnʼt think he could beat it even if he was still an Autarch, making him fearful, but after a few seconds, it exited.

He saw Davis taking his hand back and appearing to contemplate something.

”Master…?”

Lest Mistwalker probed. What happened? He couldnʼt tell if he was enslaved or not.

”Donʼt worry. I merely checked if you were possessed by someone.”

”Po-possessed?” Lest Mistwalker was flabbergasted.

Did the Divine Emperor of Death doubt his intentions?

”It isnʼt only the Heavenʼs Warriors who are my enemies. Thereʼs also Accursed Warlock, Wicked Tamer, and Vile Enchanter.”

”What!?”

Lest Mistwalker jumped, ”Those three are infamous villains in the Upper Realms. Evil cultivators who could even make major powers shiver and have avoided the pursuit of the rulers successfully many times. How are they your enemies? Are we even talking about the same people?”

Davis raised his brows. It seems that these three may actually be at the level of Exalted or Primarchs if they can run from the rulers of the Upper Realms. At the very least, he deemed them Peak Empyreans and Autarchs, who were comparable to supreme geniuses.

Otherwise, he didnʼt think these fools or Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion were capable of cornering Myria so much.

They should be supreme geniuses. Good character wasnʼt a requirement for talent.

Nonetheless, he checked Lest Mistwalker because of Ellia. He loved her so much for reminding him.

Basically, what Ellia tried to convey to him, and everyone was that if there was a long period of time between them and someone after the last time they met, it would be conducive to have a semblance of suspicion of their sanity and consciousness.

After all, Accursed Warlock was known to strike when it was the least expected. The Vile Enchanter was also capable of possession. Because of the Vile Enchanter, he almost fought to the death with his sworn brother Fenren. He was looking to repay in kind for that more than the wrong of his seeds got stolen.

Although Davis learned that Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley, and Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow avatars have been struck dead by the Celestial Transcendent, it might not be long before they create new avatars and descend once again, intending to make things difficult for him and Myria.

Therefore, he checked Lest Mistwalker and was going to check the newcomers as well.

Although they were already here, and the location couldʼve been exposed, it didnʼt take him much to weed out someone if they were already possessed.

The Celestial Transcendent only killed their three avatars recently. It was possible that those vile rats couldʼve found these stray beasts, possessed them, and gone dormant. After all…

”Yeah, weʼre talking about the same people. In fact, you probably have met Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley. He was with us in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, possessing some junior and sizing up every one of you…”

”What!?”

Lest Mistwalker almost jumped.

”Most likely, heʼs in the group that you all protected since they opted out of the competition. For all we know, he couldʼve possessed some supreme geniuses and intended to continue his strange obsession with enchanting strange items. Or, he couldʼve already made his way into your Mistwalker Family and possessed your little sister or someone close to you since he should know that you have fallen from grace by gifting the Celestial Luminescence Pill to me.”

”…”

Lest Mistwalkerʼs heart sank, his legs went limp, and his knees smashed against the ground.
