Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3471 Founder Alstreim Windstormʼs Demise?

Somewhere in the midst of the gray fog, a white-robed man roamed around.

He flew across the skies, throwing himself at the unknown in order to find a way to the other side.

Yet, days passed, and he couldnʼt make any progress.

No matter how he searched, there was no path to the other side. However, he knew it was extremely important for the future of his family because a descendant of his deemed his people so important that if they were not safe and sound, his cultivation path might be hindered.

Hence, it didnʼt matter if it took days or months.

Using his soul body and his real body, he traversed the entire edge of the fog.

His main body made a trip back home every now and then, but as for the soul body, it perpetually remained in this fog.

Even if it took a thousand years, he painfully realized that he still wouldnʼt be able to cover every corner. Besides, oneʼs sense of direction was affected by this fog, so it became even more difficult to search, causing him to occasionally search the same place again. Hence, not many people, even with their ridiculous lifespans, didnʼt come here to look for a way to the other side.

In fact, it was better said that they did look for a way for a long time but gave up since they found nothing. Since they couldnʼt enter, they didnʼt go out of their way to trouble the ascenders of the Fifty-Two Territories until recently.

But now, he was aware that this barrier made up of fog and other layers was cracked due to the machinations of an evil being, an outsider.

Awareness of this info accelerated his efforts and improved his motivation many times, allowing him to search ardently, yet he never managed to come across a path until one fine moment.

”…”

The flying silhouette of his soul body suddenly came to a stop, his pupils dilating, his body trembling, and his soul shuddering. Abruptly, he extended his hands and laughed out loud.

”Hahaha! With this, he should at least acknowledge that I had at least been useful for something…”

He grinned like a child and strode forward as he ran in the skies and appeared before an iridescent vortex, checking it out for a good few minutes.

”…”

However, the more he looked at it, the more question marks appeared above his head,

”Ho? I was wondering who it was-”

Suddenly, he flinched as a melodious voice echoed everywhere, causing him to turn cautious and look around.

”-and it seems like some stray has entered my path. One can never be too careful, can we?”

That voice continued to echo.

He adopted a battle posture and instantly held a spatial talisman in order to be able to escape, but he didnʼt know if it would work in the fog where even oneʼs cultivation was restricted.

Hence, he held a defensive talisman on the other hand. It was a Low-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Talisman. However, he wondered if it would work against this woman as he felt like he was going to die from the pressure alone even though he was a soul body, causing him to raise his hands in surrender as he knew this foe was definitely capable of karmic attacks.

”Wait! Iʼm not anyone suspicious.”

He saw that there was a pause as the killing intent didnʼt fluctuate, causing him to open his mouth again.

”Iʼm Alstreim Windstorm, just an ascender from the Fifty-Two Territories whoʼs trying to look for a way back…”

”Ho? If it isnʼt the Founder of the Alstreim Family. What a surprise~”

The melodious voice echoed again, dumbfounding Founder Alstreim Windstorm.

”Wha- you… senior knows me?” he couldnʼt help but blurt out.

After all, he considered himself a nobody, but some powerful woman knew about him. He felt like he was dreaming.

”Well, if I didnʼt research a bit about a dangerous person like the Emperor of Death and his origins, I would be too ashamed to exit seclusion.”

The fog slightly undulated, and a crimson-purple-robed woman stepped out, her features too exquisite that it made Founder Alstreim Windstorm dumbfounded again. However, he recognized her.

”Woah, itʼs the ranked one Celestial Fairy, Blazing Thunderlight Sectʼs Founder, Fairy Thunderblaze…”

Her pressure came undone, but the charm she held was beyond blinding, causing him to shake his head but smile as he heaved a sigh of relief.

”So itʼs senior. I have seen you during one of Davisʼs marriages, so I take it you allied with him.”

”Not necessarily.”

Fairy Thunderblazeʼs gaze flickered, ”The fact that you entered here could mean he went out of his way to find this place after I revealed to him that I have a way to enter the Grand Beginnings Continent and invited— which also means he backstabbed me.”

”No- no! Thatʼs a misunderstanding. I am acting on my own… please believe me!”

”Are you going to let me soulscour you?”

Fairy Thunderblaze asked, her expression unchanging. It caused Founder Alstreim Windstorm to grit his teeth.

”If it proves my innocence and lets my soul remain unharmed, I would but hear me out. I have also been looking for a way back into the Grand Beginnings Continent for months now because if you researched about him, you should know his family is very important to him. Therefore, I conducted my own search without wanting to disturb him and chanced upon this place after spending a long time here.”

He explained himself, raising his hands in surrender once again, ”However, I see this is your secret pathway. I wonʼt spread any information about it since you already seemed to have invited him.”

Founder Alstreim Windstorm wryly smiled as he felt stupid.

It seems like his help wasnʼt needed. Heck, he went out and got into trouble, making him feel like he shouldʼve listened to Davisʼs words when he said for them not to go out and endanger themselves stupidly.

”I see.” Fairy Thunderblazeʼs voice sounded gentle, ”Youʼre good to leave. ”

”Really? Th-”

”Do you think I would really say that? If you know me, you should also know what Iʼm like. What am I going to do if I lose the upper hand against him? If he came to know about this place, he wouldnʼt be able to traverse it without me, but knowing this place surely means he could do something about it. Surely, I couldnʼt just let you leave, could I?”

”…”

Fairy Thunderblazeʼs voice wasnʼt amused, causing him to purse his lips in silence, knowing he was screwed.
