Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3468 Reclaiming Herself

Clara was lying on the bed, her body lying almost motionless as her breathing seemed to be quite obscure.

Evelynnʼs expression was solemn. Once Davis spoke, she turned to look at him, her lips quivering.

This made Davisʼs heart clench.

However, he saw that her quivering was more of suppressing a burst of laughter rather than suppressing sadness.

He confusedly inclined his head at her, waiting to hear her words, but suddenly-

”Brother… lift me up…”

Clara raised her hands, her eyes fluttering as she looked around. However, she narrowed her eyes at Davis, appearing confused, before she pulled her hands back.

”Eh… youʼre not brother. Brother, where are you?”

She extended her bottom lip out like a baby would as though she was going to cry, but soon, her eyelids appeared to be heavy before she closed her eyes, her expression turning normal slowly.

”…”

All this made Davis dumbfounded. He turned to look at Evelynn again, hoping to get some real answers.

”Well, sheʼs in a delirious state.” Evelynn raised her hand and hid her smile, ”It seems as though poisoning her soul and revitalizing it had also reverted her memories a bit back to her childhood, although itʼs more likely to be temporary.”

”Yes,” Tia agreed and gestured, ”The three of our diagnoses all point to it being temporary since her soul is slowly revitalizing back, so thereʼs no need to worry.”

She pointed at Ellia, Myria, and herself, causing Myria to nod.

”Mhm~ Tia is right. I just came here and checked since these two were waiting outside my chamber, so thereʼs nothing to worry about.”

”…”

Davis didnʼt know if he should be worried about Clara or worried that everyone acted like he might flip the world if something happened to her, not that he could find fault with it.

He lightly chuckled, turning to look at his first wife.

”I see. So itʼs a great success then?”

”Yes!”

Evelynn flicked her sleeves, appearing prideful.

”You did it!”

But suddenly, she was lifted by Davis by the waist as he swung her around with much joy imprinted on his face, causing her to laugh lightly. After a few swings, he put her down and embraced her with warmth.

”You did it as you said you would. Truly a marvel…”

”Did you think I would fail?”

Evelynn smilingly asked as she threw her hands around him and hugged him tightly.

Davis kissed her cheek and shook his head, ”No, this is technically a battle against the heavens, particularly, even more difficult than clearing a tribulation. I imagined even if you succeeded, the heavens wouldnʼt stay quiet.”

”Indeed, you deserve praise.” Myria nodded from the side, ”Not anyone could seal the influence of the heavens and remain free from backlash, but you remained and stood tall.”

”No…” Evelynn suddenly felt embarrassed, ”I had some help from Tia.”

It appeared like she couldnʼt take Myriaʼs praise, not to mention everyone looking at her with admiring gazes. It had been a few hours since she succeeded in imbuing a hex on Clara to get rid of heavenʼs influence by placing her own, so all this time, she was showered with praises as though she had saved the entire family, which made her feel like they were exaggerating it.

However, it wasnʼt like she understood their thought process.

She had saved Clara, their husbandʼs treasured little sister. It was unknown how many of them would like to help their husband in this kind of way. After all, they made it so the whole point of their way of cultivation was to be useful to him and protect the family.

They would be glad if they could help him in any way, but saving his little sister, something even he couldnʼt do, was a very big achievement in their hearts.

”I didnʼt do much.” Tia uttered, ”However, our karmic burden shouldʼve grown quite a bit.”

She smiled before she thought, ʼNot for me though…ʼ

She was an Anarchic Divergent already, so the karmic burden she would receive would be less compared to someone who hadnʼt reached her tier of karmic burden yet.

”Very good, Tia. You also deserve praise for supporting Evelynn fearlessly.”

Davis let go of Evelynn and turned to look at Tia.

His gaze locked with hers, and he remembered how he inwardly told himself that he would answer her feelings. However, with everyone around, he didnʼt see the opportunity present itself.

”As I said… I didnʼt do much.” Said Tia, but she turned shy and adjusted a few strands of her hair, aligning them over her ear.

It made the others secretly smile, causing Ellia to step out.

”Now that Clara would no longer have the urge to kill anyone here, I think itʼs finally time to let the children near her.”

”Of course. My children will finally get to see the grace and beauty of my little sister. Her charming face would turn into that of a demon when they learn they could not hide anything from her.”

”Ahahaaha~”

The beauties burst into laughter, causing Davis to laugh along with them.

Clara had initially been caring for Celestia and Eterna back in the Grand Beginnings Continent, but ever since she became an Immortal, she had intentionally distanced herself from them for fear that she would accidentally do something to them.

But now, she didnʼt need to have that fear anymore, which meant the vulnerable children could also play with her.

As they were reminiscing about Claraʼs ruler-like eyes that didnʼt leave a single lie hidden, they also talked about some specifics.

”Yes, since she has lost the heavenʼs influence, her physique would never improve or become extremely harder to improve. Consequently, the comprehension of Mandate Laws will also take a hit.”

”…”

Davis inwardly grumbled once he heard Myria.

This was obvious, but it also felt like no one talked about it since what they were trying to do had felt like it was impossible in the first place.

Claraʼs Transcendent Truth Eyes had always grown along with her cultivation. Its grade was constant with her cultivation base and drastically improved when heavenly tribulation fell on her when she became an Immortal, but that was also a curse.

It bound her to the heavens more.

He heard almost all the physiques granted by the heavens belonging to the Heaven Warriors or Divergent Slayers were like that, and accordingly, their physiques improved of their own accord.

Even in that group, the users of Transcendent Truth Eyes were said to be rulers ordained by the heavens, so it was not an exaggeration to say that Clara had just fallen from grace, and she did it willingly for the sake of the family.

From a small child, she had always been curious and perceptive and grew colder as she grew older, but then she never acted against him or the family of her own accord. Her Will was extraordinary for all he cared. After all, she did well to be able to block the influence of the heavens for this long and even reclaim herself back while in the midst of Divergents.

Nonetheless, it didnʼt take a genius to say that her sacrifice was large, considering that she also gave up the Ice Phoenix Immortal Inheritance.

Now, she was left with none, so he was worried her cultivation might take a hit.

”Brother…”

Suddenly, Clara called out.

Everyoneʼs attention was grasped. It all fell on her figure, which seemed to be sitting up. She had one of her hands over her eyes, appearing to feel some pain, which made Davis instantly take a step toward her and near her.

”Iʼm here. Your brother is here, so donʼt worry…”

Davis caught her other hand and consoled her.

Upon taking his hand, Clara went silent. She slowly opened her eyes. Her pupils were still purple, the image of Davis reflecting as she saw him.

”Brother… looks like Iʼm still alive…”

Clara smiled lightly, causing Davisʼs eyes to widen.

Her memories had returned, and she was no longer confused!?

Not it became an absolute fact that the treatment had succeeded, causing him to rejoice.

ʼSo this is what they meant by Evelynn succeeded…ʼ

It was probably the same in another timeline he didnʼt know about if it werenʼt for Fallen Heaven. Nonetheless, he quickly came out of his reverie and asked.

”Clara, my little sister. How are you feeling? Is everything fine? Does your soul hurt?”

Claraʼs eyes narrowed as she heard Davisʼs innumerable questions. Her pale lips curled lightly in response, ”Brother, everything is fine. Although I feel some ache in my soul, it is not anything serious. This is all thanks to sister-in-law Evelynn and Tia.”

Evelynn and Tia smiled while Davis also nodded.

”They helped you, but now you have to aid yourself in your recovery. You need to tell me quickly if you feel anything else is wrong so that we can treat it earlier. Look into your soul much more carefully and feel the changes if itʼs not much for your health…”

Davis advised, causing Tia to purse her lips and close her eyes, seeming to make a serious diagnosis of herself.

Half a minute later, Clara opened her eyes, still sharp as ever.

”I donʼt hear that vague voice anymore, and I donʼt feel the slightest bit of malice towards you all.”

She eyed Myria, Ellia, and Shirley before her gaze fell on him, appearing to be full of joy.

”Perfect!”

Davis slumped over the edge of the bed, his face filled with relief while Evelynn giggled.

”Donʼt worry, Clara. My treatment is influence-proof since I also sealed the influence that I can place on you. Now, your physique is yours alone, devoid of any influence, so you must work hard to improve from now on since you wonʼt have heavenʼs aid anymore.”

”Yes!”

Clara affirmatively replied.

Despite the treatment, she looked like she could start cultivating right now as she tried to get out of bed. The urge to catch up to all of them filled her heart since she had been suppressing her cultivation all this while!
