Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3346 Checking The Gifts

”So these are all the gifts we received?”

In the hall, Davis sat as Bylai and Zestria sat around an array of treasures. Myriad colors shone from them, indicating they were of many attributes, but none of them seemed to be very useful for him.

Bylai nodded, ”Yes, these are all Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Treasures, but mostly armaments, which we wouldnʼt be using. Instead, I think we can sell or auction them off for Immortal Crystals, but weʼre not poor either. Itʼs problematic as we donʼt know what to do with them…”

”Who cares?” Zestria giggled, ”We can give it all to Sophie for reforging.”

”That wonʼt do.” Sophie shook her head, ”Some armaments might have spirits. I donʼt want to kill them for no reason.”

”Oh, Iʼm sorry.” Zestriaʼs expression turned awkward, ”I didnʼt think of the armament spirits.”

”Thatʼs alright.” Sophie shook her head, appearing to have not taken offense but was even bothered that she made Zestria apologize, ”Most armament spirits would not bother to talk and, because of the lack of emotional attachment, wouldnʼt bother if they live or die. They get tired of only being used and thrashed around by their masters.”

”…”

Davis blinked, suddenly feeling guilty.

He took out his scythe and held it in his hand, tracing his palm over its pitch-black and luminous white blade.

”Yama, do you want to die?”

”Please spare me, master.”

Yamaʼs voice shuddered as its scythe blade trembled.

It had no idea why it would be summoned out of nowhere and asked if it wanted to die, but it knew it wouldnʼt be anything good. It initially thought that there would be enemies to cut down, but it doesnʼt seem like the case with the situation around.

”Well, as long as you have the will to live…”

Davis nodded and let go of Yama, allowing it to float as it cast a look around, appearing curious.

The others narrowed their eyes, wondering how it was able to maintain its sanity as it was a deathly armament, but Sophie knew why as when she upgraded it, it was also refined from a life-attributed ore obtained from the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace.

*Brizzz!~*

Davis summoned another armament, which caused space to twist ever so slightly at the sharp edge of the blade and was dense in its presence as though it was pulling everything closer.

It was none other than Lancelot, the Golden Sheen Obsidian Spear.

Davis looked at its obsidian blade and golden rod that made it appear deadly and regal. It had been upgraded to a Peak-Level Immortal King Grade Spear by Sophie, but Davis didnʼt take it out to use it despite keeping it with him.

He inwardly sighed, feeling sorry for it before he threw it to Bylai.

”Aah~”

Bylai was startled as she didnʼt expect to throw the black-gold spear toward her. She quickly caught it but felt her entire body sink along with its weight if she didnʼt put more weight into it.

Her eyes trembled, knowing the immense power it withheld within its black-gold frame.

”Bylai, you can have Lancelot. Itʼs a Peak-Level Immortal King Grade Spear which has been upgraded through refining the ores of Gold Laws.”

”Gold Laws…”

Bylai could definitely feel that it was a perfect weapon for her, but feeling the spear tremble, she loosened her grip on it.

Instantly, it flew out of her grasp and appeared near Davis.

”Master… I donʼt want to be abandoned…”

Lancelotʼs voice was ethereal and soft sounding as it begged, causing Davis to frown.

”Really? I never had the opportunity to use you, and I went for Yama. Even when I had so many targets to kill, like the Feral Beasts, I didnʼt use you. But donʼt misunderstand. Itʼs not like I donʼt want you, but it is difficult for me to comprehend two armament intents at the same time. Therefore, itʼs better for you to be with Bylai. She can use you to your fullest capability and treat you better.”

”No… I… I donʼt want to leave Masterʼs side…”

Lancelotʼs golden rod bent ever so lightly as though it was incredibly sad.

The sight caused Davis to sigh as he felt like he really didnʼt have the time to comprehend Spear Laws nor use Lancelot to its fullest capability.

ƈοm

Nonetheless, if it was unwilling, Davis didnʼt think he could force it as he was willing to treat Yama and Lancelot as his lifelong armaments.
It was just that he needed their own opinions on this matter and knew about their personalities, wanting to test them, and as expected, the lazy Yama and honest Lancelot still pined on him, not wanting to leave him.

”Then I guess itʼll take a while before I start using you again, Lancelot.”

”Yes!”

Lancelot passionately voiced out, seeming to have become energized as its undulations reverberated in the hall.

”Davis… I have something to say…”

Sophie interjected, causing Davis to look expectantly at her.

”Of course, Iʼll always depend on you to forge and upgrade Yama and Lancelot.”

”Iʼm honored,” Sophie giggled, ”And it is as you guessed. Back then, when I upgraded Lancelot, I didnʼt have the courage to use a particular ore, but now, I think I can try my hand at it and even succeed if Bylai gives me a hand.”

”Oh? Then Iʼll leave it in your hands for the time being.”

Davis waved his hand and allowed Lancelot to fly into Sophieʼs hands.

Lancelot didnʼt resist. It knew when it was in the hands of this blonde-haired, purple-eyed woman, it was going to become even stronger.

Sophie saw how excited Lancelot was and couldnʼt help but giggle lightly.

The armament spirits were enigmatic and rarely spoke. Some would even turn mad from the amount of killing they have committed as the souls of the dead would corrupt their own. She wanted to study more about their life cycle, but she could not find the time as she was already incredibly busy with Forging, Inscriptions, Runes, and Aurelia.

”Oh yeah, what kind of ore are you going to use to upgrade Lancelot?”

”Gensiumite Ore.”

”Whatʼs that? I have studied all Immortal Emperor Grade Ores and Minerals as a part of my curriculum for cultivation, sculpting, and helping you but have never heard of it.”

”Itʼs normal that you wouldnʼt have heard of it. After all, if you heard of a chaos-attributed ore, then I might suspect if you really are Bylai or not.”

Sophie still had a smile on her face, but the expressions of the others froze.

”Yes,” Sophieʼs lips curled, ”Just like how Lereza bestowed me with a life-attributed and death-attributed ore to upgrade Yama, she also bestowed me with a chaos-attribute ore, but I never had the courage to touch it as it was extremely difficult for me to control back then.”

”…”

Sophie still saw that they were unresponsive. She loved it as she felt like she achieved something big. However, she didnʼt let this get to her head.

”Like how the chances of me upgrading Yama was no more than thirty percent back then, Iʼm afraid it would be the same for Lancelot right now, no even worse as this is a High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Ore, which makes it worse for me to refine and handle. Darling, do you still want me to improve Lancelot? I think I would have better chances if I reach the Immortal Emperor Stage first, but it might take a longer time to give Lancelot back to you instead.”

Sophie explained as she gazed at Davis, waiting for his answer.
