Divine Emperor of Death

Deathseeker traversed the many floating islands of the Aurora Cloud Gate. He simply didnʼt step into any island as he saw that they wouldnʼt have the information he required. He first stopped at a convening island like the Proving Grounds.

Here, the disciples gathered were constantly practicing their moves and getting pointers from fellow disciples and even instructors.

He merely walked past them without invoking a single bit of suspicion and heard the whispers and conversations going on around. It wasnʼt long before he heard the names Feng Chu and Davis Alstreim being thrown around a lot.

He had heard about the feud between Davis Alstreim and the Earth Dragon Clan and Fire Phoenix Clan. However, it is his first time hearing about Feng Chu being related to Davis Alstreim and probably how they were both the same person even though there was not enough proof. Beginning to form a slight suspicion over Dead Endʼs true identity, he started investigating Feng Chuʼs whereabouts and learned that it wasnʼt public yet.

His stoic expression started to invite some suspicion, so he left the Training Grounds and sought to look for Feng Chuʼs residence.

However, halfway through, a brown-robed middle-aged man suddenly blocked his path.

Deathseekerʼs black eyes narrowed as he saw this person appear out of nowhere. Even with some guesses, he literally couldnʼt tell where he had appeared from, causing him to instantly become cautious.

”For what reason had an outsider infiltrated my Aurora Cloud Gate?”

”Who are you?” Deathseeker responded in an indifferent voice.

”Thatʼs my line.” The brown-robed man shook his head. Although his facial features appeared quite suave and appeared lazy, there was a sliver of fearlessness in his eyes.

”If you canʼt answer, Iʼll be forced to destroy you rather than arrest you for trespassing our grounds.”

Deathseeker couldnʼt help but raised his head and chuckle a bit, albeit silently.

”Iʼm Deathseeker, and I believe I have something to discuss with one of your disciples.”

”Deathseeker? Forgive my ignorance, but it doesnʼt ring a bell.” The brown-robed man shook his head.

”Aye, I had no interaction with you secluded people before, so it is not surprising that you people donʼt know me. If you act like you didnʼt see me, then we both can stay clear of each other. Itʼs not like Iʼm here to assassinate someone, so relax.”

”I really donʼt know who you are, but if you want to discuss something with one of our disciples, you can merely approach us from the proper channel. Thereʼs no need to sneak in.”

”Unfortunately, Iʼm an assassin, and Iʼm looking out for my to-be-discipleʼs anonymity. I canʼt just walk in and request that discipleʼs name, can I?”

Deathseeker chuckled and gestured freely as though he didnʼt have a care in the world, causing the brown-robed man to sigh.

”Ai, the number of assassins and undevoted disciples in my Aurora Cloud Gate has recently grown. Well, as long as they follow the rules, I donʼt think I can say anything about them as an Elder. But for you, youʼre an outsider. Since you have infiltrated, you will have to pay the necessary price. You will be arrested and given an appropriate response, a public flogging. Do you want to struggle or surrender?”

Deathseeker displayed his teeth to the brown-robed manʼs words, ”Well then, nameless Elder of the Aurora Cloud Gate, it seems like I can only die graciously.”

As he spoke, he drew an ordinary sword from his spatial ring and abruptly rushed forward, using his momentum to slice off the Elderʼs head. A spiral of death energy surged from his palm and encased the ordinary sword, quickly turning into a deadly weapon that shook the other partyʼs heart.

”What!? A Fiend!”

The brown-robed elder let out a surprised shout and immediately sidestepped away from Deathseeker, managing to evade the fatal blow by a hairʼs breadth.

However, Deathseeker didnʼt stop at that. He used his momentum to launch himself forward once more and sliced down the Elderʼs torso. Deathseekerʼs undulations didnʼt even spread past a hundred-meter radius. His death energy was difficult to detect, causing the brown-robed elder to be disadvantaged.

But at this moment, the latter suddenly took out a saber and lashed out with incomparable calmness. Before the ordinary sword covered in death energy could strike out with a life-ending intensity, the saber moved in a vertical arc in one singular motion and sliced through Deathseekerʼs body that was locked in place.

Deathseekerʼs eyes went wide in shock over the overwhelming Immortal Emperor undulations that trapped him, but his lips couldnʼt help but curl.

”Old fart, you really know how to act... Hehehe...”

His laugh resounded out before his figure split into two and burst into black-grayish death energy, leaving behind a ring that shine before the brown-robed elder. The latter retreated as he reached out his hand and grabbed what seemed to be a life ring, and in that were some people who seemed to have been taken captive by him.

Clearly, the other party didnʼt want to offend them completely, so he didnʼt kill the inner disciple and the workers.

However, he didnʼt dare go near the remnant death energy left by Deathseeker. It was like poison. Even though it was an Immortal Kingʼs deadly attack that wouldnʼt hurt an Immortal Emperor like him, it was still a powerful poison. Once hit, he knew that his vitality would be spent more, and he would be closer to death than ever.

”Only a soul body...?”

At this moment, a white-robed elder appeared near the vicinity, his voice sounding disappointed.

”Our sectʼs reputation has been spread throughout history in the ancient powers, and anyone whoʼs here has at least heard of our hidden might before, so who dares to really enter the Aurora Cloud Gate with their true body when infiltrating?”

A third elder appeared. He wore a blue robe and appeared dashing.

They all wore different robes, but their affiliation seemed to be the same as their emblems matched, having a sword slicing through the azure clouds.

They were Law Enforcement Elders similar to Elder Aradiel Furiose!

”Still, to be capable of using death energy, he must be someone from the Ghost Tear Hall.”

The brown-robed elder shook his head, causing the white-robed elder to scoff.

”Those little ghosts are still looking for disciples with the aptitude to learn death energy to pass down their legacy? Sigh, even if they want to pursue assassination arts, canʼt they discipline their children? Look at this Deathseeker. So crass and feisty like a youth...”

”So heʼs also looking for that fellow.” The blue-robed elder sighed, ”Sigh, how many characters did we arrest or kill in the past twelve hours?”

”I donʼt know. Thirteen...? Fourteen...? It seems all want a piece of him and his treasures.”

Hearing the number, the three of their lips couldnʼt help but curl. Even in a year, it would be rare for them to even have a single infiltrator, but just in one day, there were so many.

”Everyone should know what to do. Donʼt forget the Grand Elderʼs words.”

”Alright.”

”Thatʼs already understood.”

The three of them waved their arms, and together, they reached out their hands and tried to purge the remnant death energy. It wasnʼt long before they practically removed the stain from the space and disappeared like the wind.

In some other location of the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Domain, two eyes shot wide open as a black-robed young man with pale skin opened his eyes. His sockets were empty without eyeballs and, instead, possessed a deathly vortex that revolved in it.

”Ah, so hateful! I lost a powerful soul body and couldnʼt find my disciple. This is infuriating!”

He clenched his teeth and roared with some anger in his expression.

In front of them, there were a dozen black-robed characters on their knees, seemingly shuddering from his outburst.

”Who wouldʼve expected the Aurora Cloud Gate still holds such tremendous might? Do those old fellows never ascend? Our sectʼs old foggies werenʼt kidding when they repeatedly told me not to offend the Aurora Cloud Gate.”

Deathseeker shook his head before he smiled, ”However, I did get a clue to my discipleʼs whereabouts.”

”Slave Four, get up.” The vortex in his eyes spun as his gaze landed on a black-robed person, ”I have a special mission for you. Once you complete it, return to me at once and report the findings. I will erase your memories, but if you mess up, you will fade away to death.”

”Yes~”

Slave Four obediently replied as he kept his head lowered.

”Take this spatial ring and deliver it to a true disciple of the Aurora Cloud Gate named Feng Chu. Donʼt enter the Aurora Cloud Gate. Instead, try to wait for him outside.”

”I understand, master.”

After Slave Four took the spatial ring, he bowed and turned around, disappearing into the darkness like a specter. The strange thing was that his aura was radiating death energy as well.

”Now then, those old foggies are getting restless over my slow progress. Itʼs time to enter the Immortal Emperor Stage.”

With a step into the air, Deathseeker left with his entourage. Their figures disappeared together in the wake of dawn, leaving behind a mine that had lost its luster and a lot of unconscious disciples.

A few minutes later, an Immortal King of the Aurora Cloud Gate appeared in the air and saw that a Mid-Level Immortal Crystal Mine was ransacked for what itʼs worth, his expression turning unsightly over the blatant provocation of some powerful bandit.

Although it was a mine that was going to be depleted soon, he couldnʼt believe someone really dared to offend their Aurora Cloud Gate.

But later on, that Immortal King got the news to not pursue this matter, dumbfounding him.
