Divine Emperor of Death

Natalya watched him disappear with her arms crossed over her chest as she exhaled softly. She hadnʼt expected her opponent to give up even after this, but now that it was over... she felt something heavy was finally taken off her shoulders.

She didnʼt disappoint her husband.

”Thanks, Iesha. Without you, I couldnʼt have done this...”

”Mhm~”

Iesha didnʼt say anything other than a hum in agreement as she honestly took the praise.

Natalya leaped into the air and floated towards Shirley and Ellia.

Shirley waved her hand, and a wave of phoenix flames instantly wound over Natalya, causing her to be engulfed in flames. However, they didnʼt harm her but dried her dark-blue robe and hair, causing her to be sweet all over again as she smiled in gratitude to Shirley.

However, that smile was quickly lost as her shoulders dropped.

”I didnʼt think that I would have to use my ultimate self-created technique even with Ieshaʼs power that I used from our spirit link using the Prismatic Intramural Soul-Spirit Pactʼs third level. These true disciples are truly monsters... I canʼt believe that poison expert was one of the true disciples who are ranked at the bottom...”

Natalya expressed her astonishment after she shook her head disappointingly at herself. How were these people so strong? Looking at the rankings, she found that there were a thousand of them. Her attitude towards the sect grew more respectful.

”True... I only managed to beat someone like Niel Bladeheart because I managed to use his fear of being instantly defeated by Davis and my elder sister, who is even more monstrous than him. In a normal battle with an average circumstance, I wouldʼve gotten slaughtered in an instant...”

Ellia wryly smiled as she held Natalyaʼs arm and used her body as a shield before she discreetly sent wisps of life energy inside her wound, erasing the mephitic poisonous energy.

For the Aurora Cloud Gate to have so many heavenly geniuses, Ellia was both exhilarated and conflicted. The latter because that would mean that this sect was filled with crouching tigers and hidden dragons but also poisonous snakes, as geniuses wouldnʼt tolerate the existence of other geniuses.

However, Shirleyʼs narrowed eyes seemed to have a different opinion.

”It isnʼt like that. If you notice all of the rankings and connect them to the disciples weʼve met so far, then you might guess that every bottom rankers have a low cultivation base. If Iʼm right, then the high rankers must be Late Stage Immortals, so they have both prowess and better rewarding missions to gain more resources and contribution points, making them stronger.”

”Those are good points, Shirley.” Ellia nodded, ”Niel Bladeheart has a Level One Immortal Stage cultivation base, but he still managed to wriggle his way to the twenty-ninth rank. He is a special case that doesnʼt fit into your analysis.”

”Of course. That monster can almost reach above seven levels... and these heavenly geniuses and us could only go five levels higher. We cannot be compared in the same sentence.”

”Agreed.” Natalya nodded, ”Thatʼs why we must cultivate hard and use the sectʼs resources to improve beyond our limits~”

She clenched her fists and smiled, her dreamy eyes stunning Shirley and Ellia before they smiled at each other. Which of them wasnʼt excited to become stronger, much less become a huge help to Davis by gathering contribution points for him?

With how he treated them, they had this devoted thought that as long as he got stronger, they would also follow. This was just the beginning.

”Second sister certainly doesnʼt look like someone who practices the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual.”

Ellia reached out her hand and patted Natalyaʼs shoulder, causing the latter to giggle like a sweet angel.

”No wonder...”

In the distance, a veiled woman dressed in a white-robed coldly glared at Natalya as she murmured. However, it wasnʼt long before her figure vanished amongst the sea of disciples.

Soon, Natalya got her name in the true disciple rankings. Although it was small, it displayed her wishes as she was named Natalya Loret. She couldnʼt choose Davis as her last name because his name was still Feng Chu up there. Unless Davis changed it, she was satisfied with this, but still, she was excited to be finally of help to him!

Looking at her badge, she saw about ten thousand Mid-Level Immortal Crystals deposited. That was the wages that she would receive each month and could go to the Treasury Department to collect.

It was originally worth ten thousand contribution points, but if she were to exchange them for contribution points, that would be five thousand contribution points!

It would take at least ten months for true disciples to gather those ingredients which were being teased in front of their faces right now, so one could imagine how long it would take for core disciples to be able to create a Heaven Immortal Vessel. Unless they got into the top rankings, it was ten times harder for them, which meant that it would take them hundred months.

As Natalya got to know her own usefulness to Davis, Ellia and Shirleyʼs expressions fell.

After all, everyone already realized that this was a trap, understanding that these people were here to gain their true disciple status by acting like the pig that eats the tiger. For an immortal inheritor like Shirley, whom the people with Fire Phoenix aura claimed her to be, they were sure that she had immense skill and prowess to drive them down to their knees.

At this point, Ellia was feeling embarrassed as slightly higher-ranked true disciples were accepting her challenge. However, she had to politely decline, saying that they were too strong and that it was unfair to them. Fortunately, since those true disciplesʼ cultivation bases were high, they could only retreat with annoyed expressions on their faces.

Their excuses that they could lower their cultivation base also wouldnʼt work since their law comprehension would be high. It wouldnʼt be fair but less unfair.

”Alright, enough ignoring us, Young Inheritor Shirley. Since you want a challenge, Iʼll get one of our new members from the Everlasting Phoenix Alliance to accompany you. This way, I think I can raise your status to a true disciple.”

”Doing favors isnʼt going to change the status quo we have with each other.”

Shirley indifferently replied, not even turning to look at the voice that came from behind. She knew that it was none other than Egon Zenflame.

”Then letʼs do it this way. Iʼll buy your two ingredients for twenty thousand contribution points using alliance funds so that one of our Everlasting Phoenix Allianceʼs true disciples can battle you. Whether you can win or not is up to you. What do you say?”

”Alliance funds...?”

Shirley sounded unsure, but Ellia, who had read the rules like Davis explained to her, Natalya, and Schleya using soul transmission.

In the Aurora Cloud Gate, the exchange of contribution points was semi-prohibited or, rather, not encouraged.

If one wanted to transfer it no matter what, then only half the contribution points could be transferred, with the other half simply disappearing into thin air. In other words, if one wanted to transfer ten thousand contribution points to a fellow disciple, then only five thousand could be transferred, and the other five thousand would simply evaporate.

However, it was a different story if one had an alliance.

The transfer rate was completely equal when contribution points were directed toward alliance funds.

That was why pooling resources in an alliance was also not an ordinary matter. However, the purchasing power of alliance funds was a little bit less than contribution points belonging to an individual, but it was still worth it to use alliance funds as many in the alliance could benefit overall.

Besides, contribution points exchanged or traded were not counted towards the rankings, so it didnʼt ruin the hierarchy of the disciples.

After listening to Elliaʼs explanation, Shirley couldnʼt help but feel that making a profit of ten thousand contribution points was worth it. However, her eyes couldnʼt help but reveal a smile as they narrowed ever so lightly.

”Make it twenty thousand each...”

”You...”

Egon Zenflame was about to say donʼt take it too far but taking a step back and imagining the riches Shirley possesses according to his familyʼs elders, he calmed his anger and revealed a relaxed smile.

”That would do as well.”

”You were too late in your response. Make it thirty thousand each...”

”Donʼt go too far!!!”

Egon Zenflame lost his cool as he yelled at Shirley.

”Forty thousand each for not being polite...”

Shirley still lazily uttered, causing veins to bulge on Egon Zenflameʼs forehead, his aura appearing as though he was going to transform into a magical beast and go on a rampage.
