Chapter 178: System Upgrade ( 2 )

Although Yao Zhi could just give 1 or 2 methods written in the records to the General to obtain merit points, she didn’t want to take the risk of exposing her secret.

She thought for a long time before she asked, ”What benefits can I get if I upgrade the system?”

”After the system is upgraded, the features linked to the system will be upgraded as well. For example, the area of the farmland, orchard, husbandry, and grassland will expand, and the spiritual energy contained in the water, soil, and air will increase.”

”Does that include the warehouse, storage, and granaries?”

”Yes.”

Getting the affirmative reply, Yao Zhi finally made up her mind. Although the cost was high, the upgrade would benefit her in the long term.

Before she could agree to the upgrade, she heard the mechanical voice reminding her.

”During the upgrade process, the Host can’t access the system. So, it’s advisable for the Host to take out anything you need from the warehouse, granary, or storage.”

”How long will the upgrade last?”

”The process will take 10 days to complete.”

Hearing this, Yao Zhi quickly took out the spatial bag and spatial bracelet from her system’s storage.

Afterward, she transferred all of her items from the system’s storage and warehouse into the spatial bag. When she was done, the bag still had a lot of space, so she filled it with chicken, meat, pork livers, vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, milk, seasonings, and grains.

When she was done, she placed the items she usually used in her spatial bracelet, including her treasures such as immortal wine, movable well, snow rain pill, wound ointment, and spiritual spring jade bottle.

Only after she was sure that she didn’t need anything else did she press the upgrade button.

The next second, she saw her merit points and points being deducted. Before she could take another look, the blue screen disappeared, followed by a mechanical voice echoing in her mind.

”System upgrade in process. The system cannot be accessed for 10 days.”

She waited for a moment before she tidied the bed and changed her clothes. She stood on the balcony and took a deep breath. As she let out a sigh, she thought that the system’s rewards seemed to be well planned.

She always thought that the spatial bag and spatial bracelet were useless. Unexpectedly, she needed them during the system upgrade. Reaching this conclusion, she wondered if those books would be needed one day.

Despite her doubts, Yao Zhi didn’t dwell on it. When the time came, there would be solutions.

She went to do her morning routine as usual. When she walked to the kitchen, two wolf cubs rushed over. It had been more than 2 months since she got Ye Ying and Bai Xue.

In the last 2 months, she fed them with food mixed with a drop of spiritual spring water. Their food was grown in the system’s farmland and husbandry.

Since the food contained slight spiritual energy, both Ye Ying and Bai Xue had grown bigger. Their fur was smooth, soft, and shiny. It was better than her hair.

Now, they were no longer small furballs. Their height had reached Yao Zhi’s thigh. Compared to a normal wolf, they looked like a 6-month-old wolf.

The moment they saw her, they circled around her legs while pawing at her. Seeing how impatient they were, Yao Zhi laughed and said, ”Okay, okay. I will go prepare your food.”

Since they were still young, she still gave them milk and added ground food to their daily diet. She didn’t plan to raise her wolves like dogs, so Yao Zhi gave them raw meat.

While her wolves were drinking their milk, she ground the raw pork liver using a blender and cracked 10 eggs.

She gave them the yolk and stored the egg whites in a bottle and put it in her storage bag. She could use the egg whites to make cakes or dishes.

After she poured the ground liver into 2 bowls, she added a drop of spiritual spring water into it. It not only gave them more energy, but also lessened the blood scent.

When she was done feeding her wolves, she patted their heads and said, ”Both of you can go and play by yourselves.”

As soon as they heard this, Ye Ying and Bai Xue dashed out of the kitchen and went to the mountain. Unless she left the house, they would play and hunt in the mountains. Therefore, no one knew that she raised 2 wolves.

While she was having a relaxing time, several villages located in the northeast area were attacked by the Tatars. When Lu Qianxuan received the news, the villages had been robbed, and the villagers had been killed.

Reading the report, he slammed the table and said angrily, ”Those bastards deserve to die!”

Standing on the side, Wen Liyan said, ”General, it’s not the first time for them to attack the border villages. Now that the barbarians have retreated, I think it’s time for us to give them a lesson.”

”General, they dare to massacre our people. If we don’t fight back, I’m afraid it will embolden them and make the people lose faith in us,” Bai Yunxiao said with cupped fists.

Hearing this, Lu Qianxuan frowned and said, ”Even if we won the war against the barbarian, our soldiers need rest to recover. We can’t attack the Tatar recklessly.”

After a moment of silence, Wen Liyan said, ”General, since our goals are only teaching the Tatar a lesson and driving them out of our territory, we can use this opportunity to dispatch the newly recruited soldiers for them to gain experience.”

Lu Qianxuan considered his suggestion for a while before he nodded and said, ”Very well. Bai Yunxiao, you will be responsible for the military supplies. Gao Yan and Lei Fu, both of you will be responsible for leading the troops and fighting the Tatar.”

Since the number of Tatar soldiers harassing their border was only a few hundred, sending 1,000 was more than enough.

Receiving the orders, the three of them cupped their fists, bowed, and replied in unison, ”This subordinate obeyed.”
