Chapter 160: Black Obsidian Bone Dagger ( 3 )

When Altan Yisu heard Yao Zhi’s offer, he frowned and said, ”This dagger is very rare.”

”Even if it’s rare, it’s fragile and can only be used for things that need precision, such as skinning or butchering. It can’t be used against hard surfaces and can’t be sharpened using the usual method. Your price is too high. It’s not worth it.”

The moment he heard her words, Altan Yisu’s eyes flickered for a moment. He never expected that a young lady like her would be able to see the weakness of his dagger.

After considering the pros and cons, he finally agreed. ”Alright. 5 baskets of vegetables and 300 jin of grain. When can you deliver the goods?”

Yao Zhi smiled and asked, ”When do you plan to go back? My vegetables can only last for half a month at most. If kept longer, they will rot or dry up.”

When they heard this, both the young man and Altan Yisu exchanged glances.

Today was the first day of the border market. If they exchanged the goods now, they had to transport them back as soon as possible. But if they did that, they wouldn’t be able to sell the rest of their goods.

Noticing their hesitation, Yao Zhi added, ”How about this, I’ll exchange all of your goods for grain. Just give me the price.”

Altan Yisu thought for a moment and said, ”1,000 jin of grain.”

Yao Zhi checked their goods and thought that the price was fair, so she agreed readily. ”Okay. I will go get the goods. Both of you can wait here.”

”Okay.”

When he saw that she agreed readily to the high price, Jargal Temur’s eyes lit up. He calculated for a while before he said, ”Young lady, you can take all of my goods for 1,000 jin of grain.”

Hearing this, Yao Zhi walked to his stall and checked the goods.

Besides 2 pairs of leather boots, there was also a set of light armor made of high-quality leather, 2 blankets made of wolf fur, 5 leather sling bags, 10 waterskins made of lamb skin, and a set of bows and arrows.

The price was actually low for all of these goods.

”Okay, I’ll take it all.”

After they reached an agreement, Yao Zhi left the basket of vegetables and went to get more. Since all of the goods were sold, Altan Yisu and Jargal Temur packed them up to make transportation easier.

Yao Zhi went to the horse market to get her donkey cart. After she paid 3 wen, she left the horse market and went to a secluded alley.

She observed her surroundings for a while, and when she was sure that no one was around, she took out the vegetables from the system’s farmland warehouse and bought millet from the system’s shop.

This time, she didn’t place the vegetables in bamboo baskets but in gunny sacks.

She placed the grain at the bottom and the vegetables on top. Thankfully, her cart was big enough to carry everything, so she didn’t have to make 2 trips.

Afterward, she pulled the reins and led her donkey to the border market.

As she walked, everyone stared at the goods in her cart. It was not rare for people to exchange grain in the border market, but this was the first time they saw someone actually using vegetables.

It had to be noted that the price of vegetables was higher than that of meat now. Especially with the last locust plague, most of the vegetables grown by wealthy families in their estates were destroyed.

As for the commoners, they preferred planting grain rather than vegetables. This caused the demand for vegetables to exceed the supply, which increased the price by fivefold.

So when they saw someone actually had so many fresh vegetables, they couldn’t help but try to find out her identity. But since she was wearing a veiled hat, they couldn’t even see her face, let alone find out who she was.

When Yao Zhi returned to the border market, Altan Yisu and Jargal Temur were waiting for her. Their goods had been packed up, and they waited for her at the entrance of the market.

Seeing her coming with a fully loaded cart, they quickly walked over and said, ”Young Lady, let’s go to the roadside and weigh the goods.”

”Okay.”

The two of them unloaded the gunny sacks and weighed them carefully. After they were done, they divided the goods and loaded them into their own carts. Afterward, they loaded all their goods into Yao Zhi’s cart.

Before leaving, Jargal Temur rubbed the horse’s neck and said, ”Brother, I’m sorry for selling you, but you will have a better life following the young lady. If fate permits, we will meet again.”

The horse let out a low neigh and nudged his hand. After they said their goodbyes, Yao Zhi led both the horse and her donkey cart to the secluded alley.

She couldn’t bring so many things back to the village in case it raised their doubts, so she stored them in her system’s storage. She rubbed the horse’s neck and said, ”You should stay in the grassland for now. I will take you out later.”

After she said this, she took the horse into her system’s grassland and let it roam freely. When she was done, she drove her donkey cart to the military barracks.

On the road, she put the wolf meat jerky up for auction. The basic price was 800 points per jin, and the meat jerky weighed 20 jin. Compared to before, the price Altan Yisu gave her was actually lower.

She spent a total of 560 points to buy 56 sacks of millet weighing 1,400 kilograms, which equaled 2,800 jin. If all the jerky were sold out, she would earn a total of 16,000 points.

With just one transaction, she earned more than 15,000 points and lots of good stuff. In a good mood, Yao started humming a song.
