Chapter 90: Sky High Price ( 2 )

After she got some fruits and wild vegetables, Yao Zhi returned home. Not long after she came back, she heard Wang Shen’s voice from the front yard.

”Yao Girl, are you at home?”

Without washing her hands and face, Yao Zhi hurried to the front yard and opened the gate. When she saw the people behind Wang Shen, she smiled at them.

Seeing this, Wang Shen knew that these two people were not lying. They indeed knew Yao Zhi. ”Yao Girl, these two gentlemen were looking for you.”

Yao Zhi nodded and explained, ”Aunt Wang, this is the owner of a seasoning store. Yesterday, my husband and I bought a lot of vinegar and millet wine from him.”

Hearing this, Wang Shen recalled her daughter-in-law’s words and nodded. After a moment, she said, ”Yao Girl, I still have something to do, so I won’t stay any longer.”

”Thank you for your help, Aunt Wang,” Yao Zhi nodded.

After she gave them another glance, Wang Shen returned to her house. To avoid suspicion, Yao Zhi didn’t close the gate as she invited Zhou Boming and his son inside. ”Uncle, please come in.”

The three of them sat on the wooden benches placed under the tree in the front yard. While Yao Zhi went to get the tea, Zhou Boming and Zhou Ziyuan looked around.

Leaning closer to his father, Zhou Ziyuan said, ”Father, this person is not simple. Even during a drought, the vegetables she grows are so tender and green.”

Zhou Boming nodded and reminded him, ”When you talk to her later, be careful with your manner. The rise of our family might have to depend on her.”

”Father, I understand,” Zhou Ziyuan nodded.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Yao Zhi took out the soymilk from her system storage, filled a jar, and added some honey. Afterward, she prepared three wooden bowls and a small bamboo ladle.

When she returned to the front yard, she saw the father and son fanning themselves with their hands. Seeing this, she smiled and said, ”Uncle, you came at the right time. My husband and I just tried making one of my family’s secret recipes this morning.”

As she spoke, she opened the jar’s lid and ladled some soymilk into the bowls. Placing the bowls in front of them, she added, ”Please have a try.”

Looking at the creamy, white-colored liquid in front of him, Zhou Boming was surprised. Before tasting the drink, he cupped his fists and said, ”Young lady, my name is Zhou Boming. This is my second son, Zhou Ziyuan.”

Returning the gesture, Yao Zhi smiled and said, ”Uncle Zhou, my name is Yao Zhi.”

Zhou Boming smiled and said, ”Miss Yao, it’s not easy to get fresh goat milk in this season. You are too polite. ”

”Uncle Zhou, this is not goat milk. This is called soymilk and is made from soybeans. Although it has a thinner taste compared to goat milk, it’s nutritious and delicious,” Yao Zhi explained.

Hearing this, Zhou Boming was intrigued. He picked up the bowl, smelled it, and took a sip.

At first, he thought that he would taste a heavy, earthy flavor. Unexpectedly, besides the slight earthy scent, there was only a nutty taste and sweetness coming from the honey.

Surprise flashed in his eyes as he took several more sips. While he was tasting the drink carefully, Zhou Ziyuan had already finished his soymilk in several large gulps.

Not only was it delicious, but he also felt that his fatigue had lessened. So, he couldn’t help but take large gulps.

Noticing this, Yao Zhi refilled his bowl and asked, ”Brother Zhou, what do you think of this soymilk? Do you like it?”

Zhou Ziyuan was embarrassed for showing his gluttonous side in front of her. But facing such a delicious drink, it would be a waste not to drink more.

Suppressing his embarrassment, he nodded repeatedly and said, ”Miss Yao, this soymilk is very delicious. Not only does it relieve heat, but it is also quite filling.”

Yao Zhi smiled before turning to Zhou Boming and saying, ”Uncle Zhou, for you to visit me today, I guess you have tried my family’s sauces.”

Zhou Boming nodded and replied, ”That is indeed the case. Miss Yao, I wonder what your intention was in sending the sauces to me?”

Yao Zhi took a sip of her soymilk before she said, ”Uncle Zhou is a wise person. You should have guessed my intentions before you came here.” After a brief pause, she continued, ”I want to offer a cooperation deal to you.”

Hearing this, Zhou Boming smiled and said, ”Miss Yao, please continue.”

”Uncle Zhou, as you can see, I’m just a villager, and I have several secret recipes for seasonings. For now, I don’t have any plans to open a store.”

”But it would be a waste not to sell my family’s sauces. Since Uncle Zhou’s family owns a seasoning store, I want to place my sauces in your store for sale.”

After hearing her words, Zhou Boming already had a rough understanding of her plan.

”It is indeed the safest way to cooperate with me. Not only do you not have to take the risk of losing money from renting a store if the sauce doesn’t sell well, but you also don’t have to be troubled with the procedures.”

Zhou Boming took a sip of the soymilk before he asked, ”Miss Yao, how do you plan to cooperate?”

”Uncle Zhou, my family will provide the soy sauce and fish sauce to your store, while you will be responsible for selling them. We will split the profit one to nine. You will get ten percent, and I will get ninety percent.”

When Zhou Ziyuan heard this, he frowned. Usually, they would receive at least thirty percent of the profit when others entrusted their goods to be sold in their store.

He wanted to negotiate the terms, but when he met his father’s gaze, he held back and swallowed the words.
