Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 82: Spendthrift Wife

After making up her mind, Yao Zhi opened the system shop and bought 100 liters of soy sauce, costing her 300 points. Besides soy sauce, she also bought 50 liters of fish sauce, costing her 250 points.

The sauces were packed in glass bottles, so she needed to transfer them into jars later. When she was done, she left the kitchen and went to check the situation in the front yard.

At this moment, Fu Chen’an was busy helping the servants unload the jars. Due to the amount of vinegar and wine, the number of jars was large.

Seeing his wife, Fu Chen’an walked over and asked, ”Wife, where do you want to place these things?”

”Husband, just put them in the kitchen. It will be easier for me to fetch them later.”

”Okay.”

Under Fu Chen’an’s lead, the group moved the jars to the area outside the kitchen. There was a thatched roof above, blocking the sunlight.

When they were done, Yao Zhi handed two small bamboo tubes to one of the servants and said, ”Brother, can you please give these to the store owner?”

The servant was paid for delivering goods, so he nodded readily and agreed. ”Okay.”

On the bamboo tubes, she wrote the names of the soy sauce and fish sauce. This way, if the store owner was interested, he would definitely contact her.

Before the group left, Fu Chen’an poured a bowl of tea for each of them. After resting for a moment, they drove the carts and left the village.

Since it was rare for strangers to enter the village, the villagers were curious and went to find out what was going on. They thought that Fu Chen’an had been rewarded by the General again.

But when they learned that the people were delivering vinegar and millet wine, they lost interest. Some of them even said bad things behind their backs.

Sitting under the thatched roof, an old woman said disdainfully, ”I knew that woman wouldn’t be able to sit still for long. See, her husband was just rewarded by the General, and she’s already squandering the reward money.”

Everyone could hear the jealousy in her tone, but no one bothered to defend Yao Zhi.

After all, almost all of them had been eyeing Fu Chen’an before she came and forced a marriage. Therefore, whenever the topic turned to her, everyone would say one or two bad words.

”Mother, even if you hate her, you should lower your voice. No matter what, that person is the Squad Leader’s legal wife. If this gets back to Squad Leader Fu, the one who suffers will be my son,” a middle-aged woman reminded her.

Hearing this, the old woman spat and rebuked her. ”What do you know?”

”If not for that woman suddenly coming and forcing Fu Chen’an to marry her, the one enjoying a good life would be our family now!”

Knowing how unreasonable her mother-in-law was, the middle-aged woman chose to keep silent. She also felt regret that her daughter failed to marry Fu Chen’an, but what was done could not be undone.

Unless Yao Zhi died or was divorced by Fu Chen’an, there was no way she would let her daughter marry him. Even if her family was poor, it was better to marry her daughter as a legal wife to a farmer than become a wealthy man’s concubine.

Besides the two of them, other families were also discussing Yao Zhi’s bizarre behavior, including Xiao Wei’s family. Sitting on the balcony, Wang Wuniang stretched her neck to observe her neighbor’s house.

Seeing his mother’s strange posture, Xiao Shu asked, ”Mother, what are you doing?”

Startled by her son’s words, Wang Wuniang patted her chest and glared at him. ”Why are you so noisy? Go play with your wooden sword.”

As a young boy, Xiao Shu didn’t care much about what his mother was doing and rushed out to find his friends, holding the wooden sword given by his father.

Because the distance between Wang Wuniang’s house and Yao Zhi’s house was far, she could only see people moving jars after jars into the yard.

She didn’t know what was inside the jars. Feeling curious but unwilling to lower herself to ask, she muttered a few sour words and went inside.

At the same time, Yao Zhi was busy washing soybeans in the backyard. As a good husband, Fu Chen’an was helping her wash the earthen jars.

When he was done washing, Yao Zhi also finished washing the soybeans. Turning to her husband, she said, ”Husband, help me transfer these beans into the jars.”

”Wife, what are you making?” Fu Chen’an asked curiously.

”I want to make soymilk. But before that, we need to soak these soybeans first.”

Hearing his wife’s words, Fu Chen’an was surprised and asked, ”Soymilk? Can we make milk from beans?”

From his words, Yao Zhi knew that there was no soymilk in this era. She nodded and replied, ”Husband, soybeans can be made into a lot of things, not only soybean paste.”

”Besides soymilk, they can be made into tofu, tofu skin, and tofu dregs. Then, from tofu, they can be made into various dishes. Not only are they nutritious, but they are also delicious.”

Seeing her husband’s doubtful gaze, she smiled and added, ”I will make some for you to try another day.”

When he heard this, Fu Chen’an was delighted, but then he hesitated as he asked, ”Wife, making these things must not be easy. Will you be too tired then?”

Yao Zhi was touched by his care and replied, ”I will only make a little, so it won’t be tiring.”

Since his wife had said so, Fu Chen’an didn’t refuse and grinned. ”Thank you, Wife.”

The two of them chatted while working, making time fly by. When they were done handling the soybeans, Yao Zhi finally took out the pork innards from her system storage.

The moment she transferred all the innards to the large basins, Fu Chen’an frowned and pinched his nose. The smell was unbearable. ”Wife, what do you plan to do with this?” he asked.
