Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 75: Family’s Secret Recipe - Sausage ( 1 )

Not knowing that Wang Shen was worrying about her, Yao Zhi didn’t think too much about their pettiness.

She had her system, and these things meant nothing to her. What’s more, today, she was the host. As the host, she couldn’t be stingy, or her husband would lose face in front of his subordinates.

After she divided the food, she asked them to help carry it out. She thought about the number of guests and filled 2 more waterskins with Baijiu she bought from the system shop.

”3 liters of Baijiu should be enough for them to drink,” she muttered softly.

When she came out of the kitchen, everyone was waiting for her. She placed the waterskin on the table where the soldiers were sitting before she sat beside her husband.

Seeing the waterskin, Fu Chen’an asked, ”Wife, what is it?”

Yao Zhi smiled but said nothing. She opened the waterskin and filled her husband’s bowl with some Baijiu. The moment the liquor poured into the bowl, everyone was taken aback.

The men closed their eyes and took a deep sniff, including Fu Chen’an. He stared at the clear liquor in the bowl and asked, ”Wife, did you buy this liquor at the border market, too?”

Yao Zhi knew that the border market wouldn’t have this kind of liquor, so she shook her head and replied, ”No, I bought it from my hometown. I brewed this liquor myself and planned to have it at our wedding banquet.”

After a moment of pause, she added, ”Unfortunately, I did something bad and ruined our wedding. Husband, I’m sorry.”

When the Village Chief, Xiao Wei, and Wang Shen heard her words, they nodded with a smile. It’s good that she has changed and is no longer as unreasonable as before.

”Yao girl, it’s good that you realize your mistake. Able to become husband and wife is a fate from countless lifetimes. From now on, you should live a good life with your husband,” the Village Chief said.

”Village Chief, I will listen to you,” Yao Zhi nodded with a smile.

Sitting at another table, Yang Sanlang heard his father’s words and clenched his fists tightly under the table.

Fu Chen’an poured a bowl of liquor for the Village Chief, Wang Shen, and Xiao Wei before he stood up and raised his own bowl.

”Everyone, thank you for coming today and attending my wife’s and my wedding banquet. I apologize for the delayed invitation. I will drink this bowl first.”

After he finished his words, he finished the bowl of Baijiu in just a few gulps. The moment he swallowed the liquor, he was stunned.

He thought that the alcohol content of this liquor wouldn’t be as high as the fine wine rewarded by the General a long time ago. Unexpectedly, it was much stronger than that wine.

After the spicy, burning feeling passed, he let out a sigh and said, ”Good wine! Everyone, drink to your heart’s content today!”

When the men heard this, they cheered and poured the wine into their bowls. Following Fu Chen’an’s example, they also gulped down their liquor.

Those who couldn’t hold their alcohol well felt dizzy not long after. Noticing how strong the wine was, they didn’t dare to be arrogant and finally drank the wine slowly.

Everyone was having a good time during the banquet, including Yao Zhi and Fu Chen’an. Only Yang Sanlang continued drinking the liquor as if it were water. Before the banquet finished, he was already drunk and slumped on the table.

Two hours later, the banquet was finally concluded. Before leaving, everyone helped tidy up the tables and washed the dishes.

After sending everyone off, Yao Zhi locked the gate and went to the kitchen to make some honey water. She added a drop of spiritual spring water and brought it to her room.

When she entered the room, she saw her husband wiping his body. Looking at his back muscles, Yao Zhi couldn’t help but think that she was lucky. Such a good figure, she would be able to eat well in the future.

Noticing someone’s presence, Fu Chen’an turned around and asked, ”Wife, what are you doing? Come in.”

Coming back to her senses, Yao Zhi cleared her throat and said, ”I made some honey water for you.”

Fu Chen’an’s eyes softened when he saw the honey water and replied, ”Thank you, Wife.”

Yao Zhi sat down and said, ”Husband, we didn’t buy any seasoning yesterday. I want to visit the town and buy more salt.”

Hearing this, Fu Chen’an thought for a moment and said, ”It’s too late now. How about we go tomorrow?”

”Okay.”

The two of them went silent after the brief conversation. It was three o’clock in the afternoon and too late for a nap. Since they had free time, Yao Zhi said, ”Husband, I want to make Chinese sausages. Can you help me?”

”Sausage? What is that?” Fu Chen’an asked.

Noticing that her husband had no idea about Lap Cheong, Yao Zhi recalled that the Shang Dynasty only used the simplest method of preserving meat, salting and drying.

As for the flavorful Chinese sausage known in the modern era, it was first recorded during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, around 300–500 AD, long after the Shang Dynasty.

Yao Zhi didn’t know which things existed in this era and which did not. After all, paper shouldn’t have existed in the Shang Dynasty, but it existed here. Yet, they didn’t know about Lap Cheong.

Reaching this conclusion, she thought inwardly, ’This place really is not the same world as my previous world.’

Now, she was sure about this point.

Seeing that his wife was lost in thought, Fu Chen’an waved his hand in front of her and asked, ”Wife, what are you thinking about?”

Hearing his voice, Yao Zhi was pulled out of her thoughts. She smiled and explained, ”I’m trying to recall the method of making the sausage. It has been a long time since I learned about this method from an old woman, so I’m not sure if I can make it perfectly.”
