Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 444: Chapter 233: If You Can’t Win, Call for Reinforcements

Just like the scene in Muraoka Keisuke’s grudge, it came to an abrupt end when he began transforming into a Disqualified Monster.

As a person transforms into a Disqualified Monster, his flesh, though still alive in another form, has his soul vanished, and what occupies and controls his body has become something entirely different.

Just like Farrell before them, when the divinity belonging to the Disqualified Monster appears within him, he is already dead.

His death causes the blood-red grudge of the Zou brothers to dissipate.

The blood-colored will of the Zou brothers brings Wu Chang 1 point of Life, 1 point of Will, and 2 points of Inspiration.

In addition to the standard 4 Attribute Points, it also brings him a skill.

”Skill Name: Twin Harmony”

”Skill Level: B”

”Skill Description: When the user possesses an entity-type clone skill and activates it, the user’s control over the clone significantly increases. When both the user’s body and the clone attack the same target, a combined attack effect is produced, increasing the damage caused by both attacks by 50%, concentrating it on one of the attacks for maximum impact.”

”Skill Notes: Now the synchronization rate between you and your clone is sufficient to pilot any two-person mecha.”

When the two gold medal employees previously killed the Gluttonous Ant, they wore the Essence Armor crafted by the Zou brothers, displaying a surprising level of coordination.

At the time, Wu Chang thought their coordination stemmed from years of training, but now it seems that such coordination was probably inherent to the Zou brothers themselves.

This skill, Twin Harmony, placed on most players is not strong; if there was a ranking for the most worthless B-Level skills, Twin Harmony would surely have a spot in the top ten.

Leaving aside the strength of the skill itself, the prerequisites for activating the skill are quite harsh.

In the Abyssal Game, there are not many clone-type skills, most of which produce an effect classified as blinding techniques or uncontrollable clones.

For instance, the Step Technique Wu Chang learned from the Thunder Skill Fragment - Electric Light and Thunder Shadow, can create misleading shadows when used, but they aren’t physical entities.

Besides these illusion clones, another category of clone skills produces clones that are purely tools.

Just like Oda in the Midnight Graveyard Dungeon, he controls many clones, but each has weak combat abilities that require modern weapons or items to produce any significant damage.

Even if the damage from the body and clone stacks upon each other, it doesn’t add much extra damage.

But when this skill is placed on Wu Chang, the effect is different.

His True Self clone possesses the same basic stats as his body and can use the same skills as the body.

If both Wu Chang’s body and True Self were to land a hit simultaneously, with the damage sum increased by 50%, it might hurt quite a bit.

Moreover, in Wu Chang’s perspective, the increase in damage from combined attacks is not the point; the greatest surprise Twin Harmony brings him lies in the ”user’s significant increase in control over the clone.”

Originally, when he controlled his body and True Self, his attention could only focus majorly on one side; when the body was prioritized, the True Self could only perform basic actions, and vice versa when controlling the True Self.

With Twin Harmony, he seems to have gained the ability to multitask, capable of effortlessly managing two bodies simultaneously without any delay.

The operational experience is simply transformative.

When he comes back from the pleasant surprise of Twin Harmony, the Farrell before him can barely be recognized as human.

Farrell’s head resembles an inflatable balloon, with the head diameter approaching a meter; his body becomes bloated and obese, with shrunken, withered limbs hanging feebly around, while the skin on the back splits and tears, exposing blood and flesh covered by a thick layer of fat.

Two pairs of transparent wings, their framework made of blood vessels covered with fascia, stretch out from the flesh, quickly flapping in the air, producing a dense buzzing sound.

Farrell’s current form resembles a massive flesh-and-blood fly.

Mentioning flies, people inevitably associate them with rot, disease, stench, and maggots that feed and grow on dead material.

These images more or less point towards death, granting flies a significant role in many mythologies.

Like the former King of Hell, Beelzebub.

Just as with Beelzebub, the flesh fly Farrell has transformed into—although its appearance is far inferior to the previous Gluttonous Ant—truly, in terms of combat strength, seven or eight Gluttonous Ants tied together wouldn’t be enough to face the massive flesh fly before us.

According to Wu Chang’s observations, the potion that transforms humans into Disqualified Monsters operates by actuating the target’s inner evil, extracting divinity from human evil.

The more evil within the target, the greater the divinity obtained, leading to a stronger Disqualified Monster transformation.

Farrell, in this regard, undoubtedly counts as premium material.

Gazing at Farrell, whose transformation is yet to cease, even Raymond, unable to sense Energy and Divinity, perceives something amiss.

”Seems like we’ve released an exceptional monster.”

Wu Chang shrugged, saying, ”You’ve noticed it a bit late.”

As Farrell continues to transform, the underground small room can no longer accommodate his body; Wu Chang thus leads Raymond to depart first.

The two return to the surface, and if they look to the west, they can clearly see the large office building of the Hymn Company.

Seen from afar, the Hymn Tower resembles a sharp sword, narrowing and sharpening from bottom to top.

Schultz’s location on the topmost floor is precisely the sword’s tip, aimed straight at the sky.
