Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 431: Chapter 228: The Assassin’s True Identity (Part 3)

Wu Chang placed the phone in front of a few people, signaling them to take a look together.

The content on the phone was roughly excerpted from the emergency security meeting in the morning, which mentioned the actions of the mysterious assassin and Hymn Company’s attention to him.

Wu Chang only gave a brief overview in the information, not revealing the truly core intelligence, such as the mysterious assassin taking away the disqualified monster’s converter and the information about the mysterious assassin’s true identity, to the three people.

True Self saw that the three had almost finished reading, and he said:

”Manager Sean wants us to try to search for this mysterious assassin. He promised me that as long as we can find that guy, he can use his connections to directly promote us.”

Colton showed a hesitant expression on his face and said:

”Is this Sean reliable? According to the intelligence I gathered, the native residents of the Plane think Hymn Company’s promotion system is rigorously based on performance. Each time an employee is promoted, the HR department conducts an assessment. Even a Level Eight department manager cannot promote employees in the department at will.”

”He can get us a job within his authority, but talking about promotion doesn’t seem so easy. Might he be giving us false hope?”

True Self looked at Colton, asking: ”Did you not uncover Sean’s background?”

Colton shook his head and said: ”There’s very little direct information online regarding the executives of Hymn Company. I tried to hack Hymn Company to check Sean’s resume but failed.”

True Self said: ”I have some ideas.”

He pretended to break open the study room lock, leading the few into it, and pointed to a photo standing on the desk.

The photo showed two young boys standing side by side, one looking about fifteen or sixteen, with an expression of maturity beyond his age, while the other seemed just over ten, smiling brightly with carefree exuberance.

The grinning boy was easily recognized as the owner of the house, Sean.

As for the slightly older one, True Self said: ”Don’t you think he looks familiar?”

Booker nodded and said: ”He does look familiar, but I can’t quite remember.”

Veronica suddenly thought of something, took out her tablet, opened the search history with the Hymn Company entry, and pointed to Schultz’s photo, saying:

”Seems like him.”

Booker and the others looked at the title below Schultz’s photo, ”Chairman of Hymn Company,” and collectively fell silent.

They appeared to have embraced the big shot, and a particularly influential one at that.

Immediately, they gazed at True Self with admiration.

If it weren’t for Wu Chang, they wouldn’t have easily infiltrated this house and connected with such a powerful NPC.

True Self shrugged, saying: ”In my view, this Sean manager should have the capacity to promote us.”

Once Sean’s influential identity was confirmed, Booker and the others were no longer doubtful and resumed the previous discussion.

True Self locked the search range to Danube Street, located near Orens Manor, in the direction opposite to Pine Street.

It was close to Hymn Company’s building and near Orens Manor, the area most likely where Raymond would operate.

Once the region was determined, they immediately started taking action.

Upon entering the Danube Street range, they dispersed, each seeking suitable fields to gather intelligence.

In some sense, Booker and Colton could be considered Federation ”locals,” and the two could easily blend into the crowd and chat with locals.

Especially Booker, a motorcycle boy combined with a redneck attribute, allowing him to easily get information in bars and on the streets.

Although Veronica wasn’t a local, she was the most ruthless among them, and she went to find the Fur Bear Gang on Danube Street, directly barging into the gang boss’s office.

When she reflected all bullets shot at her back to the shooters, taking down a bunch of underlings and pressing the gang leader’s head onto the desk, with an ice cone in her hand only about one centimeter from the leader’s pupil, the entire Fur Bear Gang became her information source.

Although the three each showcased their skills, swiftly searching for intelligence, the perpetrator that Hymn Company couldn’t catch wouldn’t easily be found by them in a short time using this method.

However, Wu Chang didn’t mind, bringing them along not truly for their intelligence-gathering skills, but to make a big enough fuss to let Raymond know they were searching for him.

A few troublesome individuals suddenly appearing to look for him, Raymond would undoubtedly be curious about their intentions, and as long as Raymond appeared around them and was sensed by Wu Chang’s inspiration, there would be a hundred ways to coincidentally encounter him.

Just as Wu Chang predicted, a few hours after they made noises, he sensed a particular gaze in the crowd.

He subtly followed the gaze and then slightly curled his lips.

The watch and shoes haven’t been changed, this Raymond isn’t professional enough.
