Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 423: Chapter 226: The Champion Was Fixed for Me

Wu Chang took Raymond back to Hymn Company. At four-thirty in the morning, the company was still brightly lit.

Luckily, that person wasn’t born in this plane’s Federation, otherwise, if he asked a journalist if they’ve ever seen Los Angeles at four in the morning, the journalist would reply that they hadn’t even gotten off work at that time.

The two entered the department of the fully automatic defense system, and Wu Chang opened the PPT he had prepared beforehand.

The PPT listed the differences between the old automatic defense system used at Orens Manor and the latest model from Hymn Company, with over fifteen hundred major upgrades in the system alone.

When opening the PPT, Wu Chang was a little apprehensive because the PPT he was playing was obviously not something that could be made in a few minutes or dozens of minutes. He was worried that such thorough preparation might reveal that he had long been eyeing Orens Manor.

However, what he didn’t expect was that Raymond was even more prepared than he was.

After a brief review of the data prepared by Wu Chang, Raymond not only picked out more than a dozen parameter errors but also pointed out that pairing with other high-energy weapons could achieve better results.

After finishing his critique, Raymond even directly produced a procurement contract. The procurement list detailed in the contract was exactly the configuration Raymond had mentioned.

Wu Chang was a bit taken aback. What did this mean? Did the other party already have procurement intentions, making his late-night run to release the Disqualified Monster unnecessary?

He forwarded the contract from Raymond to the contract department for them to verify whether there were any errors in the contract.

Two minutes later, he received a response that the contract was in order—it had already been reviewed by the contract department a month ago.

Huh?

The contract department had already reviewed it? Who submitted it?

Wu Chang looked at Raymond in puzzlement and asked, ”Mr. Raymond, I’m a bit confused about the current situation. Could you explain it to me?”

Raymond was not surprised by Wu Chang’s confusion and replied calmly:

”The procurement plan and the procurement contract were negotiated by me and Manager Farrell at the time.” ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Wu Chang immediately frowned. This doesn’t seem right: Farrell is the manager of the insurance department. Why was the contract for Orens Manor’s purchase of an automatic defense system negotiated with Farrell?

More importantly, Sean’s memory has no recollection of this. Wow, is this NTR?

Raymond guessed what Wu Chang wanted to say. He wasn’t the least bit embarrassed about being caught out of place but said confidently:

”A month and a half ago, Manager Farrell came to us, saying that Manager Sean intended to resign, and soon he would step down as the head of the fully automatic defense system department, with Farrell taking over.”

Wu Chang searched through Sean’s memory, and after a moment, his expression turned peculiar.

It seems Sean did say something like that. Just one and a half months ago, Farrell invited Sean for a drink. Being a median among the company’s executives unafraid of Farrell, Sean had no guard against Farrell. After being drunk, he revealed that he was under too much pressure and wanted a change of life.

So right after Sean got drunk and let something slip, Farrell went ahead and poached the deal, huh?

Raymond continued:

”In order to secure this order, Farrell visited the owners of Orens Manor one by one and even installed a trial Energy Wall near the manor.”

”Mr. Moritz saw his sincerity, so he had me negotiate the order in advance. If Manager Sean really resigned, the contract would be signed with Manager Farrell.”

Wu Chang was at a loss for words, no wonder they encountered an energy wall not recorded by the company when they infiltrated Orens Manor. It turned out Farrell was behind it.

Yet, from the perspective of the results, it seems he got an NTR in return, and it was even a super gain.

Taking the fruits of Farrell’s labor like this, it feels somewhat awkward.

The proposal was made by Farrell, the contract was reviewed by the contract department, and professional matters were left to professionals. Wu Chang trusted their judgment; he just needed to collect the money and improve performance.

The procurement scope in the contract included the Oslun Manor, involving the three largest villa districts in Vildo City. The project included upgrading the public automatic defense systems for these three villa districts, as well as constructing automatic defense systems for over a hundred mansions.

Including labor costs, accelerated construction fees, personnel training fees, and other amounts, the total amounted to twenty billion Federation Coins.

He grabbed Raymond’s hand tightly and said, ”The contract is done.”

Ten minutes later, Wu Chang delivered the contract, stamped with Moritz’s seal, to the contract department. After Raymond paid the deposit, the order was credited to Wu Chang.

Twenty billion Federation Coins in performance, which pushed Wu Chang’s annual performance to second place among all Level Eight managers, squeezing out Farrell’s original ranking.

Using Farrell’s plan, signing Farrell’s contract, taking Farrell’s performance, and ousting Farrell’s ranking.

As he walked out of the contract department, Wu Chang nervously glanced towards the insurance department. Hopefully, Farrell wouldn’t be upset.

Returning to the fully automatic defense system department, as soon as he stepped in, he heard several bangs of handheld confetti cannons from the side, raining golden showers over the department.

Cheers and applause came from around, and all the employees of the department came out to congratulate their department manager.

At Hymn Company, performance is everything, and naturally, the treatment of each department is dictated by performance.

Ever since the automatic defense system department switched to Sean, performance had plummeted, and department employees couldn’t hold their heads high outside.

With this performance now, they finally regained the glory of being one of the three core departments and restored their right to breathe.
