Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 413: Chapter 222: No Demand? Then Create Demand (Part 3)

The department managers have all agreed, so HR naturally has nothing to say.

She asked softly, ”Manager Sean, how many groups are you planning to divide them into?”

Wu Chang said, ”I plan to set up a special team that I will lead personally, and they will be its first members.”

The HR lady was stunned for a moment, then said, ”I’ll get right on it.”

Wu Chang told the group, ”You all wait here for now. Someone will guide you through the onboarding process, and you’ll start working today. I’ll come find you later.”

Watching Wu Chang turn and leave, only then did Fei Guang and the others come back to their senses. You Wu quietly asked, ”Have we become direct reports to a Level Eight employee?”

Fei Guang nodded and said, ”That’s likely what it means.”

Chiba took out a four-leaf clover from his pocket and boasted, ”I said finding a four-leaf clover this morning meant good things were going to happen.”

You Wu wanted to scoff at the fourth leaf of the clover, clearly artificially cultivated by Chiba’s ability, but thought better of it and held back.

In their earlier expectations, having half pass the interview and be assigned to a low-performing group was considered a success.

Never did they imagine they would soar directly to become employees reporting directly to the department manager.

According to their intel, department managers are all Level Eight employees. Even if the manager they were assigned to was less impressive with underperforming results, following him would actually be the best outcome for them.

Other managers with good performances have too many employees with results, making it very difficult for them to stand out.

But Wu Chang is different; due to poor performance, many capable employees have requested transfers to other parts, making it easier to achieve results in his pond.

Moreover, in their understanding, it’s not a lack of ability that is feared in the workplace but a lack of connections.

Wu Chang has such strong connections; if they can lean on him, wouldn’t they have free rein across the entire company?

They exchanged glances, simultaneously surfacing the same thought.

They must perform well, serve their superior impeccably, and not falter at all.

Their future in this scenario, and what those prominent figures want, all rest on their biggest contact at Hymn Company.

If Fei Guang and others sitting in the conference room felt like winners, then Wu Chang sitting in the office felt like the unstoppable Qin Shihuang.

The players from Iron Armor Corps and the Four Major Organizations had all become his employees, taking orders from him. How could he lose?

Hymn Company might as well be renamed Wu Chang Company.

Wu Chang leaned back in his office chair, looking at the computer on his desk.

Now, with a strong team and everything in place, he must seize the moment to produce results.

Wouldn’t it be a joke if, after bringing these guys into Hymn Company through Sean’s authority, he ended up being the first player to be fired due to not meeting performance standards?

When discussing how to boost results, millionaire Moritz gave him some ideas in Schultz’s office.

Moritz mentioned the wealth-creating history of another Level Eight manager, Farrell.

Wu Chang followed up and discovered that to promote defense insurance, carry-on campus portable weapons, and bulletproof equipment for children, Farrell orchestrated a series of large-scale school shootings, including at kindergartens in Willdo City.

Since that incident, enrolling and obtaining campus defense insurance became almost synonymous.

Of course, Wu Chang couldn’t do that—not just for the moral aspect, but because the main quest three of the scenario doesn’t allow it.

”Main Quest Three: Maintain the Peace Value of Willdo City, ensuring it doesn’t fall below 30 points.”

Below the main quest three, a floating Peace Value is displayed.

The current Peace Value of Willdo City is 51, not even a passing score.

This value can’t withstand large-scale public attack events.

Wu Chang can’t replicate Farrell’s actions, but he can borrow the idea.

If there’s no demand, create one. Threaten the target group’s safety first, and then they’ll pay for safety.

However, to not affect Willdo City’s Peace Value, his actions must be confined to a small scope, with few attacks but significant impact, and clients experiencing the crisis must have the financial capacity to pay.

With all these considerations, a generous face appeared in Wu Chang’s mind.

A bald head with a kind smile and intelligent eyes, millionaire Moritz.

Wu Chang promptly flipped through Hymn Company’s performance distribution map in Willdo City. If his memory serves, Moritz resides in the most luxurious and secure villa area, Orens Manor.

A lot of police are stationed there, and not far from the manor is a Hymn Company patrol team station.

Because of the area’s high security, Orens Manor hasn’t upgraded to the latest fully automated armed defense system but uses a version from seven years ago.

Doesn’t this provide a target?

Since Moritz gave him such a good suggestion, he wouldn’t be mad if Wu Chang implemented it, would he?

But threatening Orens Manor isn’t that easy; aside from the millionaire district’s exclusive police force and the Hymn Company patrols, each millionaire’s mansion hires many high-level bodyguards.

Orens Manor not updating its automated armed defense system isn’t due to lack of funds, but because its defense capability is more than sufficient.

Therefore, ordinary attacks won’t suffice; they need to up the ante.

The kind of hardcore that belongs to Hymn.

Wu Chang opened Hymn Company’s backend permissions and entered the Level Eight employee permissions application center.

Among the various permissions, there was a special application button labeled ”Disqualified Monster Deployment.”
