Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 192: Chapter 152: Secrets and the End

The moon falling toward the ground instantly sparked panic among the believers. People fought desperately to crowd near the Soul Light Cathedral, seeking safety only from being close to the wild goddess atop the cathedral.

Wu Chang looked at the terrified crowd, envying the backward science among the native inhabitants of the parallel plane.

If they knew the moon was actually a massive celestial body, and if it truly fell, not even Sirena, let alone the entire plane, could be saved, they would be even more panicked.

The moon did not actually fall to the ground. It descended from the sky until it hovered above the Soul Light Cathedral, transforming into a massive white light sphere with a diameter of forty to fifty meters.

Wu Chang was certain that even if the rules of the Midnight Graveyard Plane were different, the moon couldn’t be such a small sphere. Even if his True Self devoured several Mikhal I’s, it would still be larger than this little thing.

Sure enough, the enormous sphere turned around, revealing a bizarre face stretched and opened wide.

The face seemed to spread a person’s entire facial skin open and continuously rolled it to the thinnest point, thin enough to see the capillaries, thin enough to let light pass through.

The eerie face smiled at him, and an inexplicable voice suddenly appeared in his mind.

”Only by integrating into the miracle can you feel the greatness of the God. Make a wish.”

Looking at the eerie smiling face before him, Wu Chang recalled what Han’er had once told him about the First Miracle.

According to legend, the Great Sage of the Spirit Medicine Sect merged with the moon, illuminating the entire city to save plague victims and grant peace to all, by flying into the sky and becoming one with the moon.

Upon closer inspection, wasn’t the huge light sphere falling from the moon just like a massive human skin balloon?

Could the eerie thing before him be the Great Sage who ascended in the First Miracle?

Didn’t Mikhal I wipe out the consciousness of the Great Sage when preparing for Blood Moon Eternal Life?

Wu Chang felt a surge of unease and retreated backward to enter Erin’s winged shelter range.

”What are you?”

This time, the voice answering him came from the Tree of Miracles beside him.

”Me? I am a Miracle Walker.”

As soon as the words fell, Wu Chang’s consciousness, similar to when he encountered the Great Miracle in Yifu City, entered the Spiritual Space.

Unlike last time, where the Great Miracle directly dragged him into the Spiritual Space, after his inspiration surpassed 100, he actively followed the Tree of Miracles into the Spiritual Space.

He wanted to see what the other party intended to do.

In the Spiritual Space, he truly arrived at the moon, and the surrounding scenery matched the moon seen in sci-fi movies from the Blue Star closely.

On the desolate moon, a forty-meter-tall tree grew, far larger than the Great Miracle in Yifu City.

The tree before him should be the true form of the Miracle of the Moon.

The appearance of the Miracle of the Moon wasn’t as bizarre as the Tree of Miracles. Instead, it somewhat resembled a mythical giant tree, tall, solemn, and even slightly sacred.

Sitting under the tree was a wise elder, beckoning him, and the elder’s facial features, when stretched and magnified, bore an eighty-percent resemblance to the eerie smile on the human skin balloon.

Since he had come, it would be inappropriate not to have a seat.

Wu Chang sat down opposite the elder under the tree.

”Are you a Miracle Walker or the Great Sage?”

The elder looked at Wu Chang and asked, ”The Great Sage you speak of has already become one with me. Who I am depends on who you wish to converse with.”

Wu Chang raised an eyebrow. He had choice indecision and didn’t like picking from options, preferring the process of elimination. Once he eliminated these two options, let’s see how you pretend.

He couldn’t be bothered with the Miracle Walker’s nonsense and asked directly, ”What is your purpose for calling me in?”

The Miracle Walker remained silent, extended a hand, and a fruit fell from the branches above, its appearance lying somewhere between an apple and a peach. Its surface shimmered with starlight, like a spray of stars with a layer of diamond dust applied upon them.

The Miracle Walker handed the fruit to Wu Chang and said, ”This is your reward for awakening me.”

””

””

””

The Mythical Fruit seemed similar in effect to the Stone of Miracles, but in truth, they were vastly different. The Stone of Miracles was the crystallization of wish power after the death of a Miracle Walker, an ownerless object.

But the Mythical Fruit was part of the Miracle Walker’s body.

Wu Chang toyed with the fruit for a moment, then placed it back on the table.

The Miracle Walker asked in surprise, ”Don’t like it?”

Wu Chang said, ”You know I’m not a native of this plane, don’t you?”

The Miracle Walker nodded honestly.

Wu Chang continued, ”In my plane, there are many myths, one of which mentions a story in a legend involving a debauched God. The Nether King kidnapped his own niece with unsavory intentions. When the niece refused, the Nether King lured her into eating a fruit from the Netherworld, telling her that once she’d eaten the fruit, she would belong to the Nether King. She had no choice but to obey, and in the end, he succeeded in claiming his niece.”

”This story taught me never to eat food offered by someone with ulterior motives.”

The Miracle Walker’s expression changed, losing the grotesque facade of benevolence. Its face drooped, becoming expressionless.

This was its true form. The appearance of the Great Sage, for it, was just like a layer of skin, with all expressions shown by the skin being merely artifices controlled by it.
