Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 157: Chapter 140: End It All, Let Me Rest in Peace!

It was a massive caravan, the people surrounding a man seated on a Golden Throne, hailing him as the Chosen One.

Under the guidance of the man, a kingdom named Mikel was quickly established.

The people of the Mikel Kingdom, influenced by miracles, wished day and night, quickly replenishing the moon with the nutrients it lacked during this time.

Just as Wu Chang previously felt, the moon was not very intelligent, and nearly as much Wish Power as humans contributed, aside from maintaining Life, it would transform all excess Power into countless small wishes, randomly bestowing them upon humans on the ground.

With its help, the Mikel Kingdom soon became prosperous.

Human desires are always inexhaustible.

The long absence of miracles dimmed the halo of Mikhail I, the Chosen One.

The newly affluent nobles began to shake Mikhail I’s rule, so Mikhail I made a wish to the Golden Throne, desiring a disaster.

He wanted a disaster that would instill fear, revive reverence for the God, and awe of himself, to consolidate his rule.

Within the Golden Throne, there was a small miracle previously given to a minstrel by the moon. Because of the Golden Throne, the moon agreed to Mikhail I’s request, and the disaster arrived as scheduled.

A terrible plague swept in, with symptoms as Mikhail I desired—long enough, painful enough, and incurable, with only prayer offering a moment of peace.

As the plague raged, the afflicted gathered, through prayer, in the place that most relieved their pain.

Mikhail I built a city around this place, confining all the patients inside, calling it the City of Suffering.

Suffering forced the patients to pray, and under the ever-growing strength of prayer, the moon accumulated enough Energy, and it formed a small miracle far greater than the Golden Throne, giving it to the person in the city with the purest wish.

With the colossal small miracle, that human flew into the sky, merging with the moon.

The small miracle just given below regrew onto the moon.

Perhaps due to the integration of that human with the small miracle, from then on, the moon began to have consciousness, able to understand human voices.

Once it could understand human wishes, everything became complicated.

Previously, the moon differentiated good from bad wishes based on their purity and decided whether to fulfill them.

Since it could understand human voices, it discovered that not the purest wishes were the best; many purer wishes instead made it feel sick.

For example, Mikhail I, whose purity was unmatched, whose greed for power and immortality made the quality of his wishes far surpass others, even when the moon felt disgust for him, it still fulfilled his wishes unconsciously.

Encouraged by Mikhail I, the scholars, through studying the Golden Throne, found the small miracle inside the throne.

Faced with the flesh that once summoned a great plague, the scholars began to speculate that perhaps the so-called God had long been dead, and on the moon existed a divine carcass yet to decay.

The remaining Divine Power in the flesh, under certain Rules, mechanically fulfilled people’s wishes.

Based on this discovery, Mikhail I and the scholars began their research, all of which the moon witnessed but couldn’t stop, nor wished to, only feeling increasingly disgusted with them and all humans below.

After an unknown length of time, Mikhail I, the kingdom’s nobles, and the scholars confirmed their conjectures and prepared a grand plan accordingly.

They intended to utilize the Wish Power’s Rules, dividing the divine carcass to gain Divine Power and achieve immortality before the divine carcass completely decayed and the Divine Power exhausted.

This was the Blood Moon Eternal Life.

Achieving Blood Moon Eternal Life required numerous mad wishes.

On the contrary, the first miracle that could bring people tranquility became a stumbling block to their plan.

Thus, the first step of Blood Moon Eternal Life was to exterminate or corrupt the Great Sage who had merged with the moon.

Mikhail I’s plan succeeded, and their malicious wishes successfully drove the Great Sage’s consciousness insane and self-destructive.

The moon itself also went mad and self-destructive along with it.

Overwhelming red flooded, engulfing Wu Chang’s view, bringing his consciousness back to reality.

He looked at the carcass of the Tree of Miracles before him, where the Blood-Colored Will covering the entire carcass gathered into eight words.

[End everything, let me rest!]
