Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 154: Chapter 139: Seizing the Lamp Wick (3)

The Fire Master didn’t care about the value of these consumables, their side effects, or whether their effects conflicted with each other.

At this moment, only one thought occupied his mind—that he must not let the other party seize the lamp core!

In the eyes of the nobles, the usually mature, composed, and elegant Fire Master now seemed possessed by a demon, frantically consuming all sorts of bizarre items.

Swallowing potions of different colors was one thing, but he also shoved raw animal hearts and foul-smelling, sticky, brown-green blood into his mouth without batting an eye, swallowing them in huge gulps.

The Pope, who always appeared holy and compassionate in public, seemed to have a completely different side hidden away.

A few nobles instinctively gathered together, trembling, knowing they were seeing something they shouldn’t have. They wondered if it was too late to close their eyes now and claim they hadn’t seen anything.

The Fire Master swallowed all kinds of consumables in one go, finally managing to increase his Inspiration to 53 points and Will to 42 points in time for the authority contest.

These values were formidable, not just in the Desolate Realm but even in the Abyss Second Layer.

What a joke! Do they not know what the Fire Master is capable of?

Foolish creatures, daring to compare Inspiration and Will with a sect’s Pope, how audacious!

Luckily, thanks to his opponent’s reckless humor, the Four-sided Age Fire Lamp, which he thought he’d lost forever, was returned to him. Ever since the Age Age Peace instance was broken, he’d been tirelessly searching for the thief who stole his lantern without success, but here he was, delivered on this day.

Truly, it was a case of ”breaking through iron shoes in vain, only to effortlessly come upon it.”

”The countdown is over, beginning the authority contest determination.”

The Fire Master rubbed his hands together, ready to deliver some intensity, causing soul trauma while seizing authority from the opponent.

But before he could gather his spiritual power to face the impending soul clash, he felt his head suddenly explode in pain, as if someone had shoved an eggbeater into his brain and started stirring it rapidly.

”The authority contest determination is concluded. Due to the significant gap between the parties, you have lost ownership of the complete Four-sided Age Fire Lamp and suffered some soul trauma, with your Will and Inspiration caps permanently reduced by 5 points.”

”Damn thief!”

The Fire Master’s features twisted in agony from the pain in his head, his eyes streaming with bloody tears, as he shouted in a voice filled with grief and anger.

Losing the Four-sided Age Fire Lamp was not just the loss of an item to him. It felt like having his kidneys ripped out!

His name is Saint of Fire, which is not just his name but also his reincarnation profession title.

Saint of Fire is a profession that manipulates flames—the stronger the flames, the more powerful he becomes. Age Fire is the flame most suitable for him and the one that can best exert his abilities.

The loss of the Four-sided Age Fire Lamp had a considerable impact, but he could still console himself by thinking that it was just the lantern cover—he still had the real lamp core in his possession.

Once he reaped the Soul Light Sect, he planned to take the lamp core and get another cover to match it.

But who would have thought the thief who stole his Four-sided Age Fire Lamp would appear without waiting for him to seek them out, furtively following him, even snatching away his lamp core!

This was utterly intolerable! Since they had the audacity to appear, the Fire Master swore to fight that damn thief to the death!

”Gather the men!”

Responding to the Fire Master’s call, a squad of patrol guards entered.

”I have received a divine revelation. He told me that the sacred item bestowed upon the faithful has been stolen by a vile heretic! Quickly, seal off all exits of the Soul Light Cathedral, and do not let even a fly escape. Then, take men to the underground Holy Fire Altar and capture the thief who stole the sacred item!”

”Yes!”

Upon hearing that the sacred item had been stolen, the Soul Light Sect was in an uproar. If you stole the sacred item, how could they conduct the resurrection ritual in the future?

Remember, the families of employees enjoy priority rights to the resurrection ritual, as stated in the job advertisement!

They must catch the despicable heretic and hang him in the Soul Light Cathedral!
